Episode Six: Hound; Chapter Four: A Friend Knocking At the Door
"So you got bit by one of those 'Things?'" Axel asked, probably the millionth time.
"Yup." I answered, mouth full of cereal.
"Did it hurt?"
"Which part? The part I got a chuck rip out of me or having almost heat stroke from that freakin' fever?" I asked sarcastically.
"Both I guess?" he reply.
I shovel another spoonful of cereal in my mouth before answer. "All together imagine it like your testicles being set on fire while somebody was ripping them off slowly. That pretty much sums it up."
Axel looks at me like I'm some kind of psycho. Oscar and Daryl smirk at this, trying so hard not to laugh at Axel's reaction.
"Were you one of those serial killers on the news?" he blurted out.
"Nope." I laugh. "I actually have a clean record. "
"Could've fool me." he remark.
Everyone laughed. This is what I missed. Everyone enjoy themselves and having a good laugh. After all we been through we needed a break from this shitty world.
The door creaked open, everyone got quiet. There was only awkward silence. Ugh! Why does it have to be so damn quiet! I hate silence!
"Is everybody okay?" he asked.
"Yeah we are." Maggie answered.
Rick turns to me glance at my bandage torso. I was only wearing a sports bra and sweatpants. Hershel remove the bullet without doing blood transfusion or anything too serious. He said the bullet was still in one piece. Which was a relief. So all I had to do is take it easy since I lost a lot blood and keep my wound squeaky clean and bandage until it heals. Yeah sounds good.
"Are you okay?" he ask, putting me on the spotlight.
Everyone watches me, waiting for me to say something. To tell you the truth I've been trying so hard to avoid Rick. I can't look at him without feeling guilty. Because I knew Lori and T-Dog's blood was on my hands. I can't forgive myself.
"I'll be alright. I've dealt with worst." I smiled
Rick nods. "I'm glad you're still alive."
"Me too." I joked. "What about you?"
"I cleared the boiler block." he said, avoiding my question.
"How many were there?" Daryl asked.
"I don't know. Maybe two dozen. I have to get back." he said, patting Carl on the back. "I just wanted to check on Carl."
"Rick we can handle taking out the bodies . You don't have to-" Rick cuts Glenn off.
"No I have too." He said. He walks over to Daryl. "Does everyone have a gun and a knife?"
"Yeah. We're running low on ammo through."
"Maggie and me were planning to make a run this afternoon. I don't know where, but somewhere that has bullets and formula." Glenn told him.
"We cleaned the generator room." Daryl says. "Axel trying to fix it. In case of emergency. We're going to sweep the lower levels."
"Good... good." Rick mutters, walking out of the room.
"Rick." Hershel calls before Rick shuts the door.
"Give him time." I said, standing up. Walking out of the room.
"He needs to be there for that little girl." Hershel stated.
I stop. "I know." I said before exiting.

I place a bunch of flowers on Lori and T-Dog's graves. Everyone said their goodbyes, except me and Rick. Rick was in his own madness, while guilt was slapping me like a bitch.
I sighed. "Lori...T-Dog..." I started. "I'm sorry I didn't save you. I can't even begin to tell you how awful of a person I am." I took a deep breath before letting it out. "I knew you guys were going to die...from the very start. I thought if I killed Andrew before he got to the prison then everyone would be safe. Life would be a lot easier. But I was wrong. I almost got myself killed and nothing changed. Lori I should've been with you. Then maybe you might had a shot. I'm so sorry." I whispered, tears cascading down my cheeks. "T-Dog you were like my best friend. Somebody I could relate to about my home life. When I need someone to get drunk or smoke a cigarette with, you were the guy. I'm going to miss you homie. You have no clue." I sob. "I understand if you guys are mad at me...I would be pissed at myself too...I'm just ashamed- I mean I could of stop Otis from going with Shane when we need medical supplies for Carl surgery. I could of warn Dale and Jimmy about the RV. And I should've been ready to get all our stuff and everyone in the cars. So Patricia would of been alright..." I pass another sob. "It just seems like the universe loves to see me fail. Loves to make me feel...worst than scum... I don't belong here. I'm useless- a mistake."

Beth was making dinner, Carl just watched. While Hershel held the baby. I walk in tears streaming down from my eyes.
"Are you okay?" Beth ask.
"Y-yeah I'm alright." I lied.
I walked over to Hershel and the baby. "You want to hold her?"
I hesitated. "I don't- I mean I never been around babies before. Well except for those creepy dolls; my high school made me deal with. But that doesn't count."
Hershel chuckles, giving her to me. He told me how to hold her and support her head. She was so little. I can't believe how much she looked like Lori. She had her eyes and her tiny ears. She was so precious. I loved her.
I kissed her forehead. "I swear I'll protect you." I whispered. I own Lori that. Keeping her daughter safe from this horrible world.
Hershel smiles at this. "Yes, your Aunt Val will make sure to keep you safe."
Rick walks in, making his way over to me.
"She's beautiful, Rick. I might steal her from you." I joked.
He smiles at me, taking the baby. Looking her up and down. He smiles more, letting a few tears go before cradling her.
I cried. Not for being sad- I was happy- more than that I was feeling joy. Judy was special. We all knew that. After all life threw at us, we continue to live. Trying to make a life of what was left. Judy was living proof we were surviving.

All of us went outside, Rick still holding Judy.
"She looks like you." He said to Carl.
He smiles at his dad and baby sister. I love them- I love all of them. This group was like my family. I couldn't live without them.
Rick notices something, handing Judy over to Carl. "Stay here." he told him. "Valerie come with me."
I followed him, and saw there were a few zombs against the fence. Rick watches the small herd until I notices one of them was carrying the other on its shoulder, while the other was holding a red grocery basket with baby formula and ammo. Then it hit me. It was Michonne and Leo!
Rainbowkissez101: Yup Leo is now in the picture! Review to get chapter 5!
