Chapter 6

Drops of sweat dripped down Tempest's face as she sent another attack at Gray. They had been battling for about 20 mins already. She was starting to run low on magic, and she figured he must have been too. She had refrained from drinking anymore water, to keep the playing field even.

"Water Dragon Roar!" Tempest's breath attack took what was left of her energy. Half of the guild watched as she began to fall into the ocean.

"Ice Make: Floor!" Gray's shout was the last thing she heard as passed out.

Tempest woke up in her room in Fairy Hills. Wendy was sitting next to her looking worried.

"Oh good, you're awake! I was about to send Carla to find Juvia!" Wendy sighed in relief.

"Jeez, how long was I out for?"Tempest sat up stretching her muscles.

"A few hours. But we weren't sure how your body would react since you have the Lacrima. Laxus was out with the Thunder Legion, so we had no one to ask." Wendy frowned. "I tried to heal you, but Carla told me not to waste my energy cause there was nothing I could do. I hate not being able to help."

" Carla was right you know. I ran out of magic. My body needed time to recover. Its the oddest thing though. I have dragon magic. I should have outlasted Gray. But he had enough energy to catch me." Tempest pondered out loud.

"Well right before the Grand Magical Games, we had our second origins unlocked. Gray's teacher's daughter, Ultear, used Arc of Time magic. It was so sad when she sacrificed herself." Wendy looked down at the floor lost in her thoughts. She didn't look up again until Tempest stood up, causing the bed to move.

"You really shouldn't be up yet!" she squeaked, but Tempest ignored her. Tempest made her way to the guild hall slowly. She had to stop a few times to keep from falling down, but she made it there all the same. The guild members fell silent as she walked though the massive doors. But their faces soon broke into grins.

"Getting back up so soon after running out of magic takes a real man!" shouted Elfman, who was sitting alone at a table, probably waiting for Evergreen to get back.

"Now that you're up, you can fight me!" Natsu called, receiving a death glare from Lucy. Tempest smiled on the outside, but internally she was struggling to keep strong. She was pretty worn out still, and the bar seemed like it was a million miles away. All of the tables were taken, and if she collapsed on her way to an open seat, she would feel 100 times more embarrassed than she already was. Her knees began to feel like Jell-o, and she bit the inside of her cheek to keep focused. She managed to make it to the bar, and slide onto one of the stools. Mira immediately sat a huge glass of water down in front of her with a big smile.

"Glad that you're feeling better. That was quite the battle. Everyone who saw it was quite impressed!" Mira smiled even bigger and tilted her head to the side. Words escaped Tempest though, because for the moment all she wanted was to guzzle down every drop of water in the cup.
