A/N: I don't own Glee (Ryan Murphy and Fox do) or Disney or anything else you might recognize here, but use them here with love.

[Cue the Glee voiceover guy] We last saw our boys under the stars and the fireworks at Disney (with some fireworks of their own!). Fate? Sue the matchmaker (no, not the crazy canon one, sheesh!)? Disney magic? Maybe all of the above, but no matter how you slice it, Kurt has found his Disney prince. Now, back to our story.

"I'm just sayin', good thing they have the best selection of cheap, on-tap beer in town," Rob groused, reaching for his fresh, frosty mug.

"Come on, darlin', admit it, you like coming out here with us," Sue cajoled him.

"Okay. Fine. God, I'm even growing to like show tunes," he sighed dramatically. "The things I do for love."

Rachel watched them as she stepped down from the stage. Singing at Cantina Paradiso and enjoying dinner with their new friends was something she and Kurt had no problem agreeing to do. She smiled, watching Sue and her sweet boyfriend. They were the real deal, she thought, and felt the familiar pang of loss stabbing at her heart. Missing Finn never went away, and she wondered if it ever would. At least now she was able to be happy for her friends, and nodded to herself, thinking that this at least was progress.

A good thing, too, she thought, smiling at Blaine as they shimmied past each other in the crowded restaurant to take his turn at the stage with Kurt. In the past couple of weeks, the two of them had grown to be inseparable, and everyone at work knew about it (not that either of them had any talent at hiding their affections, she thought).

Blaine continued to be Aladdin to her Jasmine pretty often in the rotation, and really it was her favorite role. That, and, her Captain Phoebus, when she was playing Esmeralda, had been a self-absorbed jerk who kept hitting on her. Fortunately, Gina had been great when she finally went to her (which Blaine encouraged her to do, as soon as he heard what was going on) and Jason got assigned to furs nonstop after that (and never in her group). Work was good, she thought, and Kurt definitely had lucked out.

"Rachel!" Sue sang out to her, waving her over to their crowded table. "Honey, that was beautiful, as always. Oh, and, Rob, sweetie, we ladies have to go to the ladies'. Can you make sure to get me some more sweet tea when our waiter comes 'round?"

"Yes, dear," he mumbled, then smiled back at her. "Take all the time you need."

"I think I will," she drawled back at him. "C'mon, sugar."

Rachel knew better than to protest. Sue was now a good friend, and her plotting was usually benign. She knew she'd miss hearing Kurt and Blaine, but shrugged and followed her.

"Sweetie, there's someone I want you to meet. I think you two are gonna hit it off -"

"I … I don't know, I mean, it's almost August, and I'm just here for the summer, and -"

Sue held her hand up, gently cutting her off. "Honey, I've got this all figured out. Don't you worry about it. He's a New Yorker, like you and Kurt, well, I mean, you two are sort of New Yorkers, right? And it doesn't hurt to just meet him." Sue paused, looking down at the shorter girl. "I'm not pressuring you, but I think this could be good for you. What do you say?"

Rachel smiled a slow smile. "I'd say you never steered anyone wrong that I know of. And I think Kurt would tell me to go for it."

"He already did, punkin." Sue looked only a little guilty. "I mean, we talked about it, and he said ..."

"It's all right, no worries." She smiled a bright show smile. "So, what's his name?"

"That's the spirit, girlfriend!" Sue cackled.

Kurt bowed and Blaine grinned, waving at the audience as they finished their duet. Blaine got up from the piano and they headed over to the table where Rob was holding their places.

"So, you really think Sue's going to work her magic again?" Kurt asked. "I mean, I told Sue I thought it would be okay. I just wish ..."

Blaine tilted his head sideways, lifting his eyebrows, and sighed, as Kurt seemed momentarily at a loss for words. "I know. You just want her to be happy." He looked across the restaurant, and saw her as she walked towards them with Sue. He lifted Kurt's hand up and brushed it briefly with a kiss. "I love it how you care about your friends so much. But, we're here in the Magic Kingdom, well, almost, so, you know, anything can happen."

Kurt rolled his eyes, amused at his adorable boyfriend. "I hope you're right." He scanned the crowd, eyes narrowed. "Rachel's got tomorrow off too, and so does Sue."

Blaine burst out laughing. "Kurt Hummel! Seriously! Only you can go from worrying about your bestie's romantic prospects to plotting to make sure you get free cheesecake."

"I can multitask," Kurt snarked back. "I'm just saying, we should plan something good."

"As if they weren't planning the same thing," Blaine snorted. "I think the manager here's a genius. We all stay late to close the place, buying plenty of food and drinks, so we can compete for last song rights for free dessert for next time."

"Let's hurry. He's going on stage," Kurt shot back.

"Right," Blaine agreed, slipping into a seat beside Rob, as Sue and Rachel hurried to join them.

"Hello, everyone." The man at the microphone stepped back a half step, nodding at the crowd, then dazzling them with a beautiful smile. "My name's Brody, and I'll be singing a Demi Lovato tune. I hope you like it." He turned on the sound system, grabbed the mic, and prepared to sing.

Kurt turned to look at Rachel. She looked interested, he thought, and he figured she noticed what he did, that he seemed very relaxed as a performer, but at the same time was instantly engaged with the audience. Star quality, before he even opened his mouth. That, and he didn't have an issue with singing a girl's song. Sue knew him, and thought he'd be good for Rachel. He really hoped so.

The day I first met you

You told me, you'd never fall in love

Brody's voice started soft and sweet, caressing the lyrics, and while he performed for the audience in general, he clearly spent a lot of time singing to Rachel, seated beside Sue.

Rachel looked spellbound, Kurt thought. This song selection is no accident, he thought, as the singer reached the chorus, giving the performance passion but not overselling it. This, he thought, is an invitation. To hear him out (literally as well as figuratively), to tell her that he was safe, that he would not hurt her. He noticed Blaine doing the same, stealing glances from the girl to the performer, then locking eyes with Sue and smiling. Rob was quietly watching the action, his arm around her.

Don't wanna break your heart

Wanna give your heart a break

I know you're scared it's wrong

Like you might make a mistake

I sure hope Sue knows him as well as she thinks she does, Kurt thought. He hadn't seen Rachel look at anyone like that since … before.

And then the song was done, the spell broken as the audience clapped for the singer, who smiled back at them. Sue waved him over, beaming, making room for a chair she seemed to have produced out of thin air.

"Well, your friend definitely is talented," Rachel managed to say.

"I know it," Sue answered. "Brody, squeeze right in here," she patted the chair she'd edged between herself and Rachel. "This here's Rachel. Let me introduce you to the rest of the gang."

Brody smiled at her, knowing he'd never remember any of the others' names. "Rachel," he said softly, "Sue's told me about you. It's nice to meet you."

"Same here. And, you were really great up there. That was lovely." Her voice sounded breathy to him, not what he'd expected.

"Thank you. I was hoping you'd like it," he admitted.

Sue watched them for a minute, then turned to Rob and smirked. He answered with a head tilt and tiny eye roll, finished with a subtle nod.

Kurt caught this, and reached over to squeeze Blaine's leg. He'd seen them together many times this summer, and their ability to communicate wordlessly was beautiful to watch. They could be funny as hell when they talked in front of their friends. And he had no doubt that their private conversations were a whole other flavor. No wonder they were planning to get married!

"Penny for your thoughts?" Blaine murmured softly in Kurt's ear.

Kurt felt himself start to turn pink, but figured in this low light it might go unnoticed. Damn, but every time his boyfriend turned on that voice, and spoke right next to his ear like that, it happened every time.

Kurt gulped, hard, then turned to him with what Blaine would call 'an attempted bitch glare'. "Dammit Blaine," he chided him.

"Oh? Did I do something wrong?" And then he winked.

Kurt narrowed his eyes. Not so innocent, his bow tie wearing, buttoned up, dapper, and oh-so-proper lover. "What did I tell you you'd have to do if you did that to me again here?"

"Ooh, sing a certain Britney Spears song to the karaoke track? Babe," Blaine leaned in close, dropping his voice again to a sultry near-whisper, "looking at what it did to you, it was worth it."

"Hey, you two!" Sue interrupted them. "Earth to Klaine!"

"Stop calling us that," they chorused, grinning at each other right after.

"Really, boys," she pouted. "Look over at the stage – Rachel's going to sing with Brody!"

Kurt's eyebrows shot up as he whipped his head around, and he heard Blaine chuckle behind him. "Wow, that was fast."

Rob drawled, "did I miss somethin' here?"

Kurt turned back to his table mates. "This is Rachel we're talking about. Getting up there to sing a duet? It's like first base for her!"

Rob choked on his beer, with Sue shooting Kurt a genuine bitch glare as she rubbed his back and he spluttered.

"What!" Kurt protested. "I mean, I know her, okay? And singing a duet can mean exactly three things to Rachel Berry: I'm challenging you to a duel – and I've been there, done that; I'm using you as my backup singer to show off -"

"Kurt!" Sue frowned at him.

"It's true!" He went on, "or, I think you're hot, and I want to see if we sound good together. With a side order of, maybe-I-can-use-a-song-lyric-to-express-my-attraction (but it's the words to a song, so I retain deniability)," he finished triumphantly.

"Oh, hush, they're gonna start," Sue shot back.

"Hello, everyone," Rachel waved to the crowd. "I am Rachel Berry, and tonight I'll be singing with Brody Weston." They executed a synchronized head bow to the house.

"Hello. And we'll be singing a song by the fabulous Sir Elton John. Who once sang this song to a certain mouse you may have met," he smiled down at her. "I hope you enjoy it."

Rachel beamed at him as the music started, and he started to sing

Don't go breakin' my heart

She sang back, putting on an exaggeratedly innocent expression.

I couldn't if I tried.

Brody's voice was smooth as he sang back to her.

Oh, honey, if I get restless

She shook her head as she sung back and flirted.

Baby, you're not that kind.

"So, what did I tell you!" Sue crowed, as they all watched the performance.

"Sure, darlin', but that's just a duet," Rob agreed. "Though I do agree they look and sound really cute."

Kurt shook his head. "She's got it bad." He studied Rachel's face as he sang another line back at her. "I know that look."

"Sugar, why don't you look happier?" Sue asked. Blaine looked concerned too.

"What if he's not good for her? What if … what if this doesn't work at all, and she's worse off after?" Kurt frowned at Sue. "How well do you know him?"

"Pretty well, hon." She raised an eyebrow and slitted her eyes. "You aren't questioning my matchmaking skills, now are you? If so, this means war!"

Rob chuckled and sat way back, as if to give them space. "This should be good," he murmured, looking at Blaine, who smirked back at him.

Kurt lost his serious expression and laughed at her display. "Of course not. I just hope your pixie dust is fresh."

"Isn't that sort of your thing?" she drawled back, ducking for cover under Rob's arm.

"No," he shot back. "I borrow that from Tinkerbell. I can fly perfectly well on my own," he teased back, "unlike some people."

"They do sound great together," Blaine breathed.

"Not you too," Kurt fake-moaned.

"Shush!" Sue warned, "they're about to come back."

While the others were distracted, Rob pulled Sue close and whispered in her ear. "Did you tell her? About, um, you know?"

"No," she admitted. "I don't think she needs that yet. Brody will tell her himself, in his own time, his own way. I'm sure of it."

Rob looked troubled. "Look, I like him and all, and we're fine with it. But will she be?"

"I think so." He reached to smooth her hair, noticing the crease forming between her eyebrows. "I think they're both ready for another chapter in their lives."

Rob chuckled softly. "Such a drama queen. I do love you," and he leaned forward to peck her cheek. "And, no matter what anyone says, I believe in your skills, my lady."

"Of course you do," she preened.

Later in the evening, Sue fidgeted in her seat, eventually reaching out and grabbing Kurt's arm. "Sugar? I'd say we have to go to the ladies', but that just wouldn't be right," she smirked. "So, let's go to the bar and beg for a bowl of popcorn."

"Um, I guess," he agreed, his eyes darting to meet Blaine's before giving a shrug and allowing himself to be led away.

"There is an unwritten rule," she whispered, looking at him encouragingly. She gave up after seeing he wasn't getting it. "It's time for us all to get very tired, and let Brody take Rachel home." She rolled her eyes, "and yes, let them have last song rights."

"Fine," Kurt conceded. "I guess."

"Good boy," she praised him, reaching up to squeeze his upper arm. Then she got the bartender's attention, and he smiled at her and handed her a bowl of popcorn. "I might just buy you some consolation cheesecake myself."

"If they have any left," he agreed.

"Oh, honey, I am at least four steps ahead of you on this game. Of course they do. For us!" She grinned at him. "I mean, I feel like celebrating too. They're so cute together!" she squealed.

"I admit defeat. Since you've graciously arranged for an appropriate peace offering."

"Naturally." She started pulling him back towards the table. "So, it's cheesecake, and your beloved coffees," she pointed her chin at Blaine, "and then, scram!"

"Yes, mom," he teased her.

A/N: I think I lied. Nope, I definitely did: this isn't the last chapter. But, as I thought about this story, the characters spoke to me, and I wanted Sue to help Rachel find happiness too. And it got me to thinking … in canon, I feel like Brody got a really bad deal. Yes, he was just a passing distraction (since Finchel was endgame), but did he have to be treated so badly? Would the canon characters really have had not a shred of compassion for him? I suppose I'm tipping my hand here, but so be it. Also, seeing the friends together in this ensemble setting was fun to write, and I hope you enjoyed it too.
