Debbie paced her office, wondering if she was wrong. Wrong about the Ninja being a girl, wrong about Randy, wrong about the Ninja, wrong about- well- everything!

She sighed and plopped down in front of her computer. She opened her laptop and stared at the blank screen. Finally, she began typing.

Operation Find The Ninja's Identity: FAILED. DO NOT CONTINUE WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN.

She saved the document and shut her laptop. She glanced at the sunset and grabbed her things.

"Oh well..." She murmured before leaving.

It was an early Saturday morning when Theresa talked to Debbie about their project. The girls were in her room, doing their nails and chatting.

"What do we do now?" She asked. Debbie shrugged.

"I kinda gave up. I know it doesn't sound like me, but I felt this weird sensation that I could be putting the Ninja in danger. Whoever he is." She told her. Theresa frowned.

"So do we not do anything?" Debbie shrugged.

"I began a new project. And it involves you." Theresa turned pink. Debbie couldn't mean-

"I'm getting you and Randy together." Theresa felt flustered.

"Wh- Why? It's pointless. I want to find out who the Ninja is." She protested, struggling to change the subject. Debbie shook her head, a smile forming on her face.

"Nice try, Fowler. Besides, it's too late. Heidi is already planning on doing a segment on people who would make cute couples. I requested you and Randy." Theresa buried her face in her hands.

"Debbieeee! You know I hate that!" She screeched. Debbie laughed.

"I know, that''s why I did it!" She pointed out. Theresa groaned.

They sat in silence before Theresa turned on some music.

Counting Stars by One Republic came on.

Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars
Yeah, we'll be counting stars

I see this life like a swinging vine,
Swing my heart across the line
In my face is flashing signs,
Seek it out and ye shall find.

Old but I'm not that old
Young but I'm not that bold
And I don't think the world is sold
I'm just doing what we're told

And I feel something so right by doing the wrong thing
And I feel something so wrong by doing the right thing

I could lie, couldn't I, couldn't I?
Every thing that kills me makes me feel alive.

Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars
Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars, we'll be—we'll be counting stars

Baby. I feel her love and
And I feel it burn down this river every time
Hope is our four-letter word, make that money watch it burn

Old but, I'm not that old
Young, but I'm not that bold
And I don't think the world is sold
I'm just doing what we're told

And I feel something so wrong by doing the right thing
I could lie, couldn't I, couldn't I?
Everything that drowns me makes me wanna fly

Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars
Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars, we'll be—we'll be counting stars

Oh, take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned

Everything that kills me makes me feel alive

Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars
Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars

Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned
Take that money watch it burn,
Sing in the river the lessons I learned

Theresa smiled. This song gave her hope that she could change. She could be better, stronger, braver; things that she wasn't.

Debie inspected her nails before standing up.

"I've gotta go. I'll see you tomorrow." She said. She bent down and picked up her phone before walking away.

Theresa waved to her and listened as a new song came on.

Randy grunted as he kicked the punching bag hanging in his garage. sighed and wiped sweat off of his face. He was glad he was shirtless.

The radio was blaring a song that he knew the lyrics to. Thankfully, it was the clean version.

Show me how to lie
You're getting better all the time
And turning all against the one
Is an art that's hard to teach
Another clever word
Sets off an unsuspecting herd
And as you step back into line
A mob jumps to their feet

Now dance, dance, dance
Man, he never had a chance
And no one even knew
It was really only you

And now you steal away
Take him out today
Nice work you did
You're gonna go far, kid

With a thousand lies
And a good disguise
Hit 'em right between the eyes
Hit 'em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See 'em running for their lives

Slowly out of line
And drifting closer in your sights
So play it out I'm wide awake
It's a scene about me
There's something in your way
And now someone is gonna pay
And if you can't get what you want
Well it's all because of me

Now dance, dance, dance
Man, I never had a chance
And no one even knew
It was really only you

And now you'll lead the way
Show the light of day
Nice work you did
You're gonna go far, kid
Trust, deceived!

With a thousand lies
And a good disguise
Hit 'em right between the eyes
Hit 'em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See 'em running for their lives

Now dance, dance, dance
He never had a chance
And no one even knew
It was really only you

So dance, dance, dance
I never had a chance
It was really only you

With a thousand lies
And a good disguise
Hit 'em right between the eyes
Hit 'em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See 'em running for their lives

Clever alibis
Lord of the flies
Hit 'em right between the eyes
Hit 'em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See 'em running for their lives

The song came to a close as Randy finished. He groaned and grabbed the radio. He picked up the Nomicon and his mask and marched into his house.

He struggled to get up the stairs to his room. He managed to get up and headed to his room. He opened the door and entered, dropping the stuff on the floor and falling face- first onto a bean bag. At that moment, the door bell rang.

"I'll get it." Randy groaned, even though he was the only one in the house.

He managed to get down the stairs to the front door, opening it to reveal none other than Theresa Fowler.

Now he wished he had a shirt.

His eyes widened and he blushed. Theresa looked down, her face red.

"I'm gonna, um... Get... a... shirt... I'llberightback." He took off, searching for a shirt. He found one that was relitivly clean before tugging it on.

He ran back to the door, panting when he got there.

"Can we... Pretend... That never... happened?" He asked, struggling to catch his breath. Theresa nodded, now pink.

"So, uh, what brings you here?" He asked, leaning against the door frame.

"I heard a loud noise when I was walking past your house. I was wondering if you were okay." She said softly.

Randy nodded, wondering how he could explain that he was, um... Working out.

"I'm fine. I was just... Working out using my dad's old punching bag." Randy went red.

"I see. I'll see you around." She smiled slightly and waved. She turned to walk away when Randy did something un predictable. He grabbed her arm and stopped her.

"Wait! I was um, wondering if you want to maybe hang out at the Game Hole tomorrow. Howard is still sick." He said, his face turning red. Theresa went wide- eyed before nodding.

"S- sure. N- noon?" She stammered. He nodded.

"Uh y-yeah. N- noon." She smiled and he let her go.

"I- I'll see you at noon." She managed before walking away. Randy nodded before stepping inside and shutting the door.

He turned and ran up the stairs.

"WHAT?!" Howard screamed. Randy winced.

"Uh, yeah. Tomorrow at noon."

He heard Howard groan over on the phone. Randy sighed.

"It's not a date. We're just hanging out. Besides, you're sick. What else am I supposed to do?"

"I don't know. Play Grave Puncher with me?" Randy shook his head.

"It broke. Remember?" There was silence before Howard spoke up again.

"Did you check with your book?" He questioned. Randy groaned.

"I'll take that as a no." Randy sighed and hung up. He set his phone aside and picked up the Nomicon.

He sighed and opened up the ancient book.

Theresa paced her room as she recalled the conversation.

She sighed to herself to calm her nerves. She then picked up her phone and called Debbie.

"Hey Resa."

"Hey. So, um, are you sure you don't want to find out who the Ninja is?"

"I- I'm not sure."

"Well, mayeb you should be. Randy and I are hanging out tomorrow at the Game Hole." She heard Debbie drop her phone before picking it up.

"This is HUGE! I'll watch you guys from a distance. You still have the ear piece?"

"Yeah."

"See you tomorrow!" Debbie shouted and hung up.

Theresa stared at her phone, suddenly wonder what she had done. Was Randy really the Ninja? Possibly. She saw hints everywhere. She holds his hand, Ninja doesn't show up. She lets go, Ninja shows up.

Theresa turned to her mirror.

"All signs point to Randy."
