Sooooo...
Heya.
I know, this is quite a fast update... But I figured that I have a good year to make up for. * Guilty look*
SOOOOO there is an AA meeting in this! and by that I mean, Aurora and Albus, not alcoholic anonymous- THOUGHT I SHOULD CLEAR THAT UP! And things are going to start forming in and out of Hogwarts, so get prepared.
THanks for the reviews and favs and follows.
and on we go.
Friendzoned... Big Time
"Al?"
"Albus?"
"Albus Potter, look at me!"I demanded loudly , a few people turned to stare, but carried on walking- HE carried on walking, staring forward, ignoring ( AND I THINK WE'VE ESTABLISHED IN PREVIOUS SITIUATIONS THAT I DON'T DO IGNORED WELL) me.
AS IF I WOULD ALLOW THAT!
"POTTER!" I yelled loudly, yanking so hard on the strap of his bag that it fell to the floor .His books, having done a suicide dive from it's safe haven, spread out. The corridor was empty by now and I was free to yell as much sense into this boy as I could manage and was legal.
He let out an angry, throaty sigh and bent down , picking up his books and stuffing them hastily into his bag . I didn't help, the longer he spent picking up books the longer I could spend questioning him on his audacity of ignoring me point blank for the past three days.
"Are you crazy?" He spat, still not looking at me.
I folded my arms and raised my chin, " No more than usual."
He said nothing and carried on picking up his books.
Nothing. No comments, no quirky comebacks, no sarcastic insults , not even the tiniest of eye contact. Nothing and that was enough to enrage me even more.
"What!"I said, a lot more loudly than I should have, but I couldn't care less at the moment, " More silent treatment?" Again no reaction, "Fine then! Be like that! Just remind me to get you a pack of tampons for Christmas, will you?"
I knew the last bit was a bit harsh, but I didn't care in that moment. Again he said nothing, but put his last book in his bag and carried on walking in a cool and calm manner , ignoring my 'pesterings'. I let out a frustrated ( and this sounds really unladylike ) grunt and turned on him, pulling him by the collars forcing him to look at me.
"Say something, you prat!"I demanded again.
What can I say? I'm a very demanding person.
He rolled his eyes and pulled out of my grip, "WHAT!" He snarled ,shoving me back a little, "What do you want me to say?"
I caught myself from stumbling completely and turned on him, just as angrily as he turned on me, "Anything! Just say something!"
He looked at me , then looked away , then change his mind and said angrily, " You're a bitch, you know that?"
I froze right there, clenching my fists, "EXCUSE ME?"
"You heard me!"He said, now folding his arms, "You couldn't at least try to get along with her! You had to hurt her!"
I opened my mouth then closed it again, multiple times, looking like some deranged fish chewing gum. I felt my eyeballs almost fall out of it's sockets as I stared at him.
"This is about HER? About AMANDA?"I asked in disbelief.
What?
"Of course it's about her!" He said, running his hand through his already unruly hair. "She told me what happened-"
"No." I snapped, " She told you a lie, Albus."
He let out a grunt and turned around, walking in the opposite direction. I let out an- ever-so-slight yell of anger and grabbed him by the arm, "OH NO YOU DON'T, MISTER!"
"I've got to go to class, Black." He said, yanking away from my grip. He avoided my gaze.
Black?
"Well, Potter, "I spat, "so do I. But we're both not going anywhere until we sort this out."
"Sort this out?" He asked, giving a dark unamused laugh, " How do we sort out the fact that you landed my girlfriend in the Infirmary?"
"She did that to herself."I testified in an almost pleading manner, "I didn't know what she was doing until it was too late to stop her. I wouldn't hurt someone Al, especially for such a simple personal reason." He looked at me with a blank expression, "Please, Al, believe me?"
And silence is what followed.
I saw him take this all in , I saw him weigh the information and decide on a verdict, I saw the conflict in his eyes and I hoped he could see the honesty in mine. He had to believe me. He's my friend. I mean, I don't spend a full month with someone, night and day, just to have a vague trust in them. He knew me. Al really knew me.
He shook his head in dismay, " She's my girlfriend, Aurora. I'm sorry."
I shook my head, "Then what am I, Al?"
I saw this question stump him. "Y-you're my friend."He said quickly.
I felt an odd feeling wash over me, it was a faint feeling, but still upset me more than what I would of liked.
I nodded slowly and said softly, "Then why doesn't my word count for anything?"
Now it was he's turn to gap around like a fish, " It's not that your word doesn't c-count, but I hardly know you."Ouch. He saw the hurt on my face and tried to correct himself and the situation, " I mean, we've been dating for a year- I'm supposed to believe her. You? You're just- just-"
I looked down at my feet, "I'm just someone you met a month ago."I stated sadly.
And that my friend is when the saying 'the truth hurts' is really not appreciated. Like, at all.
"Aurora."Al said softly, his voice kind and regretful. "I didn't mean-"
I shook my head and gave him a sad smile, "No, you did, Al. Enjoy class."I said and walked away, my feet and hands shaking slightly, I felt a lump in my throat, but I knew I didn't need to worry about crying, I never cry. I can't.
I took a few more steps and heard him swear silently under his breath and that's when something dawned on me. I turned and faced him again, " Hey Al." He turned, his expression hopeful but apprehensive, " Yeah?"
I paused, deciding if this was a little low, " You take her word for it because you've known her longer than you've known me," He opened his mouth to argue ,but I carried on, " But what about family?"
He frowned, severely confused, "What?"
"Rose saw me . She said that she saw my arms were crossed over my chest and that I couldn't have poured it on her. I don't know, but maybe that counts for something." And with that I left him, I left him to sort out his priorities.
_(Later that day : Detention(sort of))_
"I can't believe he doesn't believe you." Rose said angrily, slamming the book closed.
"It doesn't matter." I said , sighing into my arms.
"Of course it does!" Rose said angrily, " I can't believe my cousin! Calling you a bitch, like that too!"
I looked up at her, still resting my head on my arms and nodded, "He didn't even say that I was acting like a bitch, he just went straight out and call me one." I felt my voice hitch and I couldn't believe that I , The Amazing Aurora, was getting upset over a boy and the word bitch. Sure I've been called that many times , especially from THEM. But I never thought that someone who I considered my closest friend would ever call me something so harsh, derogatory and- and hurtful.
Rose took one look at my hunched over form and stood up , stuffing the books into her bag so roughly that I was expecting a Ravenclaw or the librarian to jump out from behind the bookshelf and tackle her to the floor, which I'll admit would probably brightened up my life.
"Where are you going?"I asked, slightly confused as to where a Ravenclaw ( especially a certain Rose Weasley) would go without finishing her Arithmacy essay due for Monday.
"To go speak to a certain Mr. Albus Potter on having trust and speaking kind words towards his friends."she said, and I swear that ( and I know this is relatively random) I could fry an egg on her face. Which I added to Note-To-Self: If ever stuck in the wilderness, use Rose's temper to fry eggs. P.S. Maybe bring a chicken along for eggs.
P.P.S Think about broadening the variety of Groceries to not only eggs.
P.P.P.S Don't get stuck in the Wilderness.
I jumped up out of my seat and grabbed her arm, "No! Don't!" I begged, "He has to figure this out for himself , otherwise if something happens, he's going to think we forced him into making decisions. He has to start forming his alliances by himself otherwise his trust means nothing." I said all that in one breath, so if she got any of that I would have been really surprised.
She paused, frowning and nodded, "Okay, fine." Her posture relaxed slightly, " But if he asks me , I'm going to tell him the truth."
I nodded and smiled slightly, " I would have asked you too."
And with that we sat back down and she pulled out her parchment and started with her essay again. I grinned, " Rose?" I asked, fluttering my eyelashes as she looked at me, "Did you just offer to put your homework on hold for me?"
She rolled her eyes, "No."
I smiled like a flattered pedophile, " Nawwww... We're friends, aren't we?"
She rolled her eyes again and then let out a yelp of surprise, "Aurora! When does your detention start?"
I frowned, "Six o'clock, why?"
She looked down at her watch and let out a No-No word, "You've got three minutes!"
I fell off my chair, "What!" I grabbed for my back and the Muggle Studies book I burrowed from someone, "Crap! Why does this always happen to me?" I groaned and gave a hasty bye to Rose.
My footsteps echoed loudly in the empty hallways as I sprinted to the Infirmary. And might I just add, there are thousands of staircases between the library and my detention cell.
Yes, my friends, this school is forcing me in to an unscheduled fitness program.
I arrived out of breath and out of motivation to act even pleased to be alive at this point.
"You're late." The monotonous voice of Professor Birch sounded from the shadows – Jokes! He was sitting on a chair in the dead center of the room, staring at me coolly.
"Sorry, lost track of time."I panted, swallowing heavily.
He just fixed me with a blank stare, "Ten points from Ravenclaw."
I let out a sigh, at the rate I'm going I wouldn't be surprised if they slit my throat in my sleep.
But I said nothing and breathed through my mouth, fixing him with a blank expression.
He stood up, his robe making a dramatic swishing sound , "You will be scrubbing the beds without magic and I assured Madam Dellebra that they would be spotless, I'm sure you can manage that , Black?"I didn't say anything, still fixing him with a stare, "You will not be using magic, so hand over you wand?" He held out his hand.
I froze, "M-my wand?"
"Yes, girl. You're wand. I don't know how that could have possibly confused you." He spat.
Okay...
I reached in to my robe and extracted my wand slowly and hesitantly, handing it over with shaking hands and I silently cursed my stupidity for not carrying around Wacky Wand too.
He nodded, twirling my wand in his hand as though asking me to say something, " The cleaning equipment is in the corner and you may begin."
I nodded as he made his way towards the door and that's when I realized what he hasn't mentioned, "Sir?"He didn't pause or even turn around, "What time do I finish?"
"When I say you do."
And with that he walked out, leaving me to the silence. I pulled a face and made my way to the equipment box in the corner and looked inside.
Soap- check.
Gloves – check.
scrubs- che- WHERE ARE THE SCRUBS!
I scratched around in the box and let out a frustrated , but silent yell.
WHY THAT ASSHOLE!
Cleaning all the beds with a- with a toothbrush?
_( What feels like five years later)_
Scrub.
Scrub.
Scrub.
Scrub. Scrub. Scrub.
Scrub. Scrub.
I let out an annoyed huff and reached for more soap. I tried not to be swallowed by my negative thoughts by making a long list of people I have to blame for being here, well it started with people , but towards the end Flapjack landed on the list and I realized that I needed to start again.
I couldn't, for the life of me, tell you how long I've been here for, but can tell you that I've cleaned a good 4 beds... WITH A TOOTHBRUSH MIGHT I JUST ADD.
My hands were raw, having removed the gloves when I realized that they had more holes in them than... Well, whatever is really holey that you can think of. And I was started to wonder if I would ever see civilization ever again. I was scrubbing the side of the bed, my whole figure hidden to anyone arriving from the other sides, especially with this lack of lighting.
I heard footsteps and thought it might be Birch coming to release me from this night of servitude, it was only when I realized that there were more than one set of footsteps that I bent down, really pretending that I had been busy with this for hours. I strained my ears, trying to hear if their conversation was about me, but made sure to kept my head down. I'm nosey, I don't deny it.
" And you've given them their potions, Madam Dellebra ?" I heard McGonagall say.
"Of course, Headmaster."I heard a lady reply, who I guessed was the infamous Madam Dellebra, "Wouldn't want them running free across the school grounds."
Who?
" Naturally and any news on the boy who was attacked by the-"McGonagall started to ask , but a male voice interrupted her.
"Dead."He said and I felt the grim air around them, " They were too late to save him, the monster left him there with barely a pulse."
"Terrible incident isn't it." McGonagall sighed, "And the monster is still not accounted for?"
"No, Headmaster. But I'm sure the Aurors are working on it as we speak." The man spoke again and I couldn't help but wonder who he was.
"But an attack like this so close to the school, especially one of such brutality."Madam Dellebra said her voice trailed off and I felt the sombre atmosphere close in.
"Well thank you Ingrid," McGonagall said and I guessed she was referring to Dellebra, "and to you John for accepting the position of Muggle Studies, I am aware that it is not what you specialized in and is different from your position in the Ministry-"
"The Ministry, Headmaster?" Madam Dellebra asked.
" Control of Magical Creatures, Miss." This John said politely.
" Yes, Mr. Cain has agreed to stay on as a Professor here at Hogwarts to give information on Our Special Students and the Incidences that have been happening lately." McGonagall added.
Special students? I made a note to ask Rose if she had any information about what this meant, but there was still one part that filled me with dread and paranoia . What Incidences have been happening lately? My mind fast forward to vampires, but I knew I was being silly, there's no way they would act that quickly or make themselves known within a month. Vampires are like lions, they stalk their prey, waiting for their perfect opportunity to attack and even I could tell that now was not right. They were too outnumbered to take the school now and I'm pretty sure with me killing their leader would've set them back a little longer, seeing as they would now have to battle to fill his place, meaning most will die and then they would have to recreate a whole army again. This worked in my favor, but there was one eerie flaw to that: Vampires are dangerous with a leader, but without one they're worse, unorganized and testy.
I shuddered.
Stop Aurora! There are other monsters out there besides vampires, vampires wouldn't act so quickly. Relax.
"We should get going. Hagrid is waiting for the-Oh, good! You've found it." McGonagall said and with that they left leaving me in the dark figuratively and literally.
SOOOOOOOOOOO...
Let me know what you think? About AA ? HIM CALLING HER A B**** ? DO YOU THINK HE'LL FIGURE IT OUT? WILL HE STILL CHOOSE aURORA OR JUST IGNORE IT AND STAY WITH AMANDA? HOW WILL HE APOLOGIZE? HOW WILL aURORA TAKE ON AMANDA? VAMPIRES ON THE RISE? OR SOMETHING ELSE?
sO REVIEW! LET ME KNOW WHAT YALL THINK.
( ps I'll try to write another chapter before I leave to the kruger Park where internet is non-existant, so review and we'll see)
