So firstly, thanks to all who have followed , Favorited or reviewed my previous chapter- yall amazing!

Pullynnhah ( I think I spelt that right) - you'll just have to wait and see! I can only say that what I have planned for this story will , hopefully, please the readers or knock their socks off! Preferably the latter.

- nah... but it will be revealed soon.

MoustachedCat- TADA!

And for those wondering: No, this story isn't abandoned, I don't plan on doing that. But life , my friends, tends to get in the way and makes me unable of writing each and every day. But fear not, this story will continue so just keep your eyes open.

So... a very , very long chapter ahead.

ENJOY

I was in trouble, once again, and it's not even ten in the morning. I think it's safe to say that since my arrival at Hogwarts I can count on one hand the amount of times I have put myself in trouble, the rest I've either been framed, gotten lost, framed, and now, pranked. Yes, the prankee has finally been pranked. It's either that or the walls were always lined with glue and I've never noticed.

So, there I was, late and stuck to a wall with a throbbing eye- I may have incidentally whacked myself while trying to free my soul and body.

I can't tell you how long I stood there yelling until a vaguely handsome Hufflepuff Prefect came to my help with the aid of two house elves. After being released, I blurted out a thanks and dashed off to class, but not before tripping and scraping open my knee open, typical.

My entrance was soundless, yet very distracting. Each and every head turned around except for Professor Covey, who kept her back towards the door as she wrote on her board. I tried sneaking to the front, but as I have proven many a time before, I am no spy.

" How kind of you to finally grace us with your presence, ."She snapped and turned around to face me. I froze in mid step and gulp, the class fell silent.

"I'm sorry I'm late."I stammered awkwardly, trying to keep my eyes leveled as I made eye-contact, " I was stuck to the wall just outside the Great Hall-"

She held up her hand, "Funny, I don't remember asking you for your excuse."

"It's not an excuse!"I blurted, trying and failing to keep my cool.

She stared at me coldly and I stared back at her, standing my ground, "Twenty points from Ravenclaw, now sit, before I make it a hundred. You see, you may think my time is worthless, but I find what ever story you've concocted just as worthless, now be seated or stop wasting this period permanently." She threatened and turned her back to me once again, I felt my hand curl in to fist, would I have jinxed the life out of her? I would like to think so.

I turned to take my usual seat, only to see a dirty Slytherin girl in it giving me a look that should be illegal, I scanned the classroom, but found all the chairs were occupied.

I cleared my throat and found my voice, " Professor, it seems that we're missing a table."

She turned around with a smirk, " It seems you're not as dim as I thought." Ouch!"Now sit."

I frowned, thinking that maybe she didn't hear what I had said, "There isn't a seat-"

"On the floor."She sneered, looking me up and down in amusement.

I heard someone shuffle behind me,but I kept my gaze on her, she noticed too and said, " Mr. Potter, I suggest you remain seated and follow instructions, or we'll see if maybe you can follow them better without a badge."It quietened down, she smiled, "Good. Now let's see if Ms. Black can follow instructions just as well."

I swallowed my pride and sat down on the cold, stony ground, feeling a pang of deja vu. She studied me for a second longer, then nodded, feeling happy with her dehumanising technique.

"Next time you'll be on time, understand?"

I nodded, feeling my throat tighten up, " Yes, Professor."

She addressed the class,"I want complete and utter silence. Copy what is on the board and then I want the work that we've done up till now summarized for Friday."

Nobody dared mumble a complaint.

My leg had started to throb along with my eye and I shuffled around uncomfortably, but I knew I was walking on a thin line,so I kept my head down and my mouth shut. After a minute or so, I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked up to see Thomas, a shy, but relatively decent Ravenclaw hand me a neatly folded letter.

Sorry about that.

You look like a mess, everything okay?

I looked up at Thomas and shrugged, he pointed behind me to Albus who was watching me intently, I stuck my tongue out and gave him the thumbs up, before looking to identify my other acquaintances. Rose sat, a desk or so in front of me, and when I looked at her she was already staring at me with worry and terror in her eyes. I frowned, ready to ask what had gotten in to her lately, but she went pale and turned away. She's been doing this for the past two days, not saying anything, only staring at me with those pale, blue eyes of hers. She hadn't been sleeping ,her eyes permanently red and she never let me out her sight- this morning being an exception and look how well that turned out. I had a feeling it had something to do with her 'study date'- whatever you call it, with Scorp, but I said nothing, giving her the privacy she's always ( rarely) given me.

I cast my gaze to Scorp, but he was staring miserably in the opposite direction- I don't know what had happened, but he had made her upset and for that, he's an ass.

I turned back to my work, but felt something hit against my shoulder, I scowled and opened the paper plane, inside was a picture of me getting turned in to a pig. I crumbled it in my fist and followed the sound of ridiculous giggling, of course. Of- bloody-course.

I threw it and, for someone who has no athletic precision at all, I was rather impressed when it hit one of Amanda's Henchmen flat on the face. I smirked and returned to my work when I heard, " That's not very funny, Aurora! Why would you draw something so- so crude!" The blonde Henchman cried out in disgust.

I took one look at them and realised that it was going to be one of those days.

Shit.

I looked up and first found Albus's confused gaze, the Rose's shocked face and, well, Scorp barely looked interested. Before I could say anything Professor Covey was already in action.

" And what's that exactly, Ms Davis?" She asked/ demanded.

I bit down on my tongue hard, knowing trouble was heading my way.

Henchman took a look at me and stretched out her hand with my crumbled piece of paper, her face a perfectly fake shade of – well, 'I hope you weren't planning on living a long life'.

I watched Covey's face carefully as she saw the picture and felt relatively okay, the picture that they had drawn was quite obviously me.

She looked at me coldly, "Try and be on time to detention this evening."

I gasped, " For what?"

She handed me the crumbled paper, the one originally for me, only it had Covey getting struck by lightning, turning in to an ogre and calling herself some heinous insults that I'd rather not repeat.

Her lip started to curl in anger, " You've just earned yourself one week of detention, now keep your mouth shut before I take it up with the Headmistress."

That was it for me.

"Then take it up with her!"I snapped-loudly, " At least I know that she has more than three brain cells, because come on!" I stood up," How is it that three- of-the-four times I've been in trouble since getting here has involved the same troop of half-witted trolls, tittle-tailing some unbelievable story in which I've done something wrong? How! So no, I will not be sitting detention tonight or any other night for a crime I did not commit, thank you."

And because I felt everyone's eyes on me and I was currently in shock of what I had just done, I picked up my bag, stuffed the papers in it and walked out. I was shaking and if I could cry, I would have. I collapsed on one of the staircases, my breath rugged and uneven as the panic washed over me: I was going to be expelled. That much was obvious, I was going to have to pack up my trunk and leave a place I had only just started calling home- I HADN'T EVEN FOUND THE KITCHEN YET! WHAT WAS THIS!

I heard footsteps behind me and for some reason I just knew it was him. It was always him.

"I didn't do it, I promise." I muttered, my face buried in my hands. I heard him sit next to me and his smell filled the air as he drew me in to a hug.

"I know." Albus said, resting his chin on my head.

He believed me?

Well, that's a first.

I sighed and rested my head on his shoulder, " I'm going to be expelled, aren't I?"

He was still for a moment, before answering, " Don't be dramatic, if they expelled every student that ever got sassy with a teacher there would be no one left."

I chuckled, " You really think so?"

He pulled me away and looked at me seriously, "They won't dare."

I chewed on my lip and groaned, " I can't believe I just did that."

He laughed, " I'm glad you did, who wanted to learn about 10 Safe-ways to transfigure a caterpillar into a donkey anyway."

I found myself laughing.

He looked at me and suddenly grinned, jumping up and holding out his hand, "Let's go!"He said eccentrically.

I frowned, " Where?"

"Anywhere, there's still almost three-quaters of an hour left of class and they're not expecting either of us back, so let's go!" He had this crazy look in his eyes, it reminded me of the Albus I first met, before all this drama started. The boy with a charismatic grin and ready laugh.

I took his hand, " Onward, my trusty steed!"

His smiled crumbled a little, " I'm going to ignore that."

I grinned, "Onwards on ignoring that!"

He laughed and led the way jogging with his long legs- that meant, I was sprinting and complaining. We raced down one flight of stairs, both suffocating on uncontrollable giggles. I didn't know where we were going until we ended up outside, through a passageway that appeared out of nowhere.

The air was frosty and stung my face, but it had a clean smell to it which brought on an immediate feeling of relaxation. Albus was walking in front of me and already his face was slightly red from the cold, but he was grinning all the same and that made my smile bigger.

"Where to, my kind sir?" I asked in an aristocratic voice, folding my hands behind my back playfully.

He raised an eyebrow and replied in the same tone, " Why, where ever My Lady wishes to go, of course?"

I blushed and nodded in full agreement, " Of course, Mr. Potter. But what if the Lady confesses that she knows not where her heart shall be most content?"

He laughed and took a step closer, so very close, his warm breath could be felt on my skin. His eyes sparkled and he replied, " Then to the sky I will take her!"

I chuckled, my lips freezing, " The sky, Sir? Forgive me, but I don't understand?"

" For the lady needs not to understand, but forget! Forget all earthen heartaches! Earthen men and stuff-"

"Stuff?"I laughed.

He broke out of character and rolled his eyes, " Just roll with it," He resumed his character, " Trust me, trust that I shall remove you from your troubles and lead you to paradise-"

"Or my death."I said deadpanned.

He looked thoroughly insulted, "I thought I've proven my ability to you?"

I raised an eyebrow, "I think you'll have to prove it again?"

He laughed and took my hand, leading me to a lonesome building, then told me to wait as he went to go fetch his broom. He left and when he came back I almost had a fit!

" Why are you carrying two? One, Albus! We only need one!"I cried out in paranoia.

He shook his head, "It's time you learn to fly by yourself."

That sounded familiar.

I sent him a look of suspicion and asked, " Wait, did Rose put you up to this with that Female Independence campaign she has going on?"

"What? No."

Real look of confusion: Indeed.

"Okay, so, no."I stated.

Then he threw me a look that I could not deny- WHAT! I'M ONLY HUMAN! And I found myself flying five minutes later- and by "flying" I mean, grasping the broom with both hands, yelling words that, if I had been in the right frame of mind, would've made me blush.

"Aurora! YOU CANNOT FLY A BROOM WITH YOUR EYES SHUT!" Albus yelled on my left, in a state of hysteria.

"WATCH ME!"I replied through a clenched jaw.

"OPEN YOUR EYES!" He begged and I knew he had a point, this was dangerous and yet, I knew that if I opened my eyes, I would probably go cra-aaa-zzzz-y. I know this, he knows this, we all know this.

"BLOODY HELL WOMAN!" He spat, then I felt movement beside me, other than my soul leaving my body." IF YOU DON'T OPEN YOUR EYES NOW, I SWEAR TO MERLIN THAT I WILL JUMP OFF THIS BROOM!"

I closed my eyes tighter and shook my head, "You wouldn't dare!"

"Try me."He challenged."Three, two ,one-"

I heard a shift of sound next to me and I screamed, opening my eyes looking in the direction of where his voice had been, but he wasn't. I looked down towards the ground, my fear of heights not being anything near my fear of him hurt. He wasn't there either, now I was panicking.

"ALBUS?"I cried out, my voice breaking with strain.

" My lady!" He answered casually from above me- and then I chased him.

Faster and faster I went, twisting, turning and I caught him.

I slapped and punched him in fit of rage and fear.

"NEVER DO THAT AGAIN! I THOUGHT YOU WERE HURT!"I screeched, my voice hurting. He looked at me with a soft smile and his eyes had a twinkle to them as he held out his hand which I took as we suspended in midair.

" I'm safe, you're safe, it's all going to be fine."He reassured me and I felt horrible, utterly guilty. I looked away from his emerald eyes, because I saw my lie in them. He didn't know about the dagger, about the intruder, about the harm that they all face because of me. I pressed my lips together, let go of his hands and started descending, ignoring his voice in the distance. I left my broom against the shed of the changing room and left.

I had just rounded the corner when I was confronted by a savage looking Amanda, her hands were on her hips and her face was pulled into an ugly look of hatred.

" Well?" She snapped impatiently.

I waited for to continue, but she didn't, so I replied with a , "Well what?"

This was obviously not the response she was looking for, "Well how does it feel being a skank!"

This is where I was taken aback.

"A what?" I asked, my brain slow to process.

She lifted her chin and I could see her eyes watering, "A skank, you bitch! An ugly piece of trash that nobody wants so she goes after what somebody else already has!"

I blinked and because I honestly didn't have the energy to retaliate, shrugged and started to walk away, just wanting to be left alone, but heaven knows, she wouldn't accept that.

" Don't you dare turn your back on me, you bloody orphan!"She yelled and I'll admit that hit home.

" I'm warning you, Meadows!" I yelled back, my body starting to shake.

" What? You don't like being called an orphan! But that's what you are! You are alone, because nobody wanted you, not your parents, not your family, not this school and definitely not Albus-"

Oh.

" Is that what this is about? Albus? Because if that is the case why do you care, you have him!"I cried out.

She opened her mouth, but closed it sharply, biting on her lip and blinking furiously as tears threatened to fall.

"Yeah, but at the rate you're going, I won't have him for much longer." She spat, glaring at me through wet eyes.

And you know what?

I felt sorry for her. But, there was something about her open vulnerability that I couldn't believe.

I loosened my shoulders and calmed down, so that she knew what I was about to say came from a place of honesty and not anger.

" If you lose Albus, Meadows, it'll be because of you, not me." I admitted, "So, I'm going to go and we're both going to start leaving each other alone-"

" I'm not stopping until you're gone."She stated, it wasn't wasn't a snap or a threat, it was a statement, a promise.

I smiled, having expected nothing else, " Black's are never gone."

( Rose)

Where was she?

I scanned the Great Hall anxiously, faces passing by in a blur. Hundreds of the wrong face. I checked twice and felt my stomach drop, I was so sure she would be here! Come on! It's lunch and this is Aurora we're talking about. She's never missed a meal, I call it her Sixth Sense.

Out of habit, I found another face and he found mine, like clockwork. His blue eyes shone from the Slytherin table, a question in them. I tore my eyes away and walked out, not knowing my next stop.

My mind hit a blank as I felt my blood drain from me as fear settled in my stomach again. It was such a common feeling these past two days that I started being accustomed to it.

"We're closing in on them and before they know it-"

My hand flew to my chest as my heart skipped a beat and I had to rest my head against the wall to stop it from moving.

" They've got me, Rose"

No Aurora,they don't. I won't let them, I promise.

I closed my eyes ,took a deep breath and stood up straight.

Come on, Rose! You're a Weasley! Daughter of two-thirds of the Golden Trio! Your parents were saving the Wizarding World at your age and you're scared of few vampires who want your friend and possibly your family killed. Please! Things could be so much worse!

...

I rolled my eyes. Nice talk, Brain.

"Weasley!"Someone called and I looked in their direction, Makenzie. Of course it would be her.

"Makenzie." I smiled my Everything-is-not-falling-apart-as-we-speak smile. I felt my fingers flinch with impatience. As nice Makenzie was ( I didn't really know her, she was always more Albus's friend than mine), I needed to find Aurora and make sure that she was safe or, at least, alive.

" You look as though you're on the verge of a mental breakdown, should I call St. Mungo's?" She asked and when I stared at her blankly she smiled, "That was a joke."

Of course it's a joke, Rose. You're not that crazy yet.

I force out a small laugh and relax my stance, "Of course. I'm terribly sorry."I smiled apologetically, "I'm just looking for Aurora and Al, you haven't seen them, have you?"

She bit her lip and shrugged nonchalantly, "I saw Al through the Library window at the stadium a few minutes ago. He was alone-"

I nodded, "Thank you, sorry but I have to see him, it's urgent."

She gave a short laugh, "Life or death situation?"

My smile waned, " Something like that. But thanks again."

I took off before she could say anything back.

Where was she?

The chilled air hit me first as I stepped out and neared the stadium, the raised voices hit me second.

"- I can't believe you would choose her over me!"I heard Meadow's voice and jumped behind a conveniently place pole. Eavesdropping like the pro I am.

" I'm not choosing anyone-"Al hissed back, I could hear his rare anger.

"YES YOU ARE!" She cried and her voice dropped to a mere whisper, " You are and it's not me."

"Amanda please?" Albus asked hopelessly, "She's a friend of mine, that's all."

There was a moment of silence that stretched for all eternity, before she replied in a hard tone, "I can't believe that, not without you reassuring me."

Silence and I felt my heart sink as I realised what she was going to demand.

"What?"Al asked desperately.

Without hesitation she replied, " Stop seeing her. Stop hanging out with her. Stop speaking to her- Shhh, I know. I know. But you're not seeing it from my point of view. I'm the one who's dealing with all the gossip and questions involving you and h-her, not you and it hurts. So please? For me, do this? Please?"

Albus couldn't, he wouldn't... Would he?

I panicked. Aurora couldn't afford losing Albus now, not with Her in a killing distance.

"Amanda, she stays with 're friends, besides she has a lot going on right now and needs me."Al tried to testify, but I could hear the doubt in his voice.

I bit my tongue from speaking up, I knew that I would only make things worse if I stepped out.

I heard Amanda sniff and I felt sorry for her and the situation, but she could get over Al, Aurora can't get over being dead.

" Please just try?"She pleaded and I could imagine Al running his hand through his hair in frustration as a moment of heavy silence passed by.

And with a sigh, he answered, "Okay, I'll try and keep my distance."

I felt my heart drop to my stomach and my mind become numb.

I won't tell you how much snogging went on after that, just that I think they turned 'Sucking Faces' in to a sport. It was only after when Al said he would catch up with later , he had forgotten something in the changing room , that I decided to make my presence known, quite loudly- and violently.

" HOW COULD YOU!"I yelled and pranced on top of him, whacking him in the abdomen.

He winced and pushed me back looking alarmed either at my accusation or sudden arrival.

"Dammit Rose!"He growled, tending to his stomach.

I put my hands on my waist, to stop me from attacking him again, obviously, and scowled, "Don't you 'Dammit Rose' me! How could you!"

He looked at me until the realisation dawned and he had the nerve of looking embarrassed.

" Stay out of it Rose."He warned.

" I wont! Not when I know it's the worst thing you could possibly do right now!"I snapped back.

He blinked in confusion and I knew I said too much. Shit.

"Why?"He asked, far more calm than before.

Yes Rose,why?

Why do you have to open your mouth and get involved in other people's business?

Why?

Why.

I shook my head, my brain failing me, "Nothing, it's not important-"

He took a step closer, " You forget, Rose, I've always been able to tell when you're lying. Now, what's going on with Aurora that I don't know about?"

I looked away, staring at the castle looming over us.

I should tell him, he has a right to know. He could actually help-

Aurora chewed slowly, thinking over my question, before answering,"Because, them worrying about it isn't going to help us find him or her faster. Besides, they have enough to worry about without this."

She was wrong.

I swallowed as the nausea made it's way up my throat.

I had to tell him, he deserved to know that we were all in danger, but Aurora still had no knowledge about my recent discovery and it wasn't fair to speak about it with anyone else first.

So... My next plan of attack: Guilt.

I crossed my arms over my chest and raised my chin, "Why do you care, Albus? It's not like you can do anything about it."

To his credit, he did look ashamed and angry, mainly angry.

"Don't, Rose." He warned.

A challenge?

As if.

"Then you shouldn't have agreed to what Meadows was could you pick her over your friend, Al? How!" I spat in disgust.

He ran his hand through his hair and bit his lips, before sagging his shoulders and looking genuinely guilt-ridden. He sighed, " You're asking me why I didn't choose Aurora over my girlfriend? I owe it to Amanda, she's been dealing with the rumors going around Aurora and me for a long time and it's not fair to her. She is still my girlfriend and I have to honor that before a mere friendship ."He trailed off before addressing me again, " Please Rose, if Aurora is in any kind of trouble, I need you to tell me."He pleaded, his green eyes intense behind the spectacles.

Tell him...

Tell him...

"No, she isn't. I-I still worry though." I said abashed. I'll tell Aurora first, tonight, and if she doesn't tell them , I will.

Albus enveloped me in a hug and maybe I was tired of carrying this burden or it was apart of my act, but I felt my heart start beating at a regular pace and the queasiness in my stomach stop.

( Aurora)

Now, I want everyone to take out a sheet of parchment and a quill and write the following down:

Lesson number 1:

Being invisible does not make a clumsy person invincible to stumping one's toe.

Lesson number 2:

Never skip lunch, no matter the reason.

These two are my life lessons, starting from today. Learn them, live by them, remember them.

The passageway from the Owlery was dark and eerie as I skillfully made my way back to the dormitory. I knew it was before curfew, but I also knew that I would be reluctant to answer any questions about my current endeavor.I think it's safe to say that I was on edge as I jumped out of my skin a couple of times on my way back to the dormitory, it's strange how loud nothing can sound.

I used the art of positive thinking to keep my mind at peace, that worked for a good minute before I was running out of happy things. Yay? No.

So, I thought of ways to apologize to Albus for my slight over reaction this by returning his Invisibility Cloak? Nah!

It was during this lapse of concentration that my toe got caught on the base of a, in my opinion, randomly placed ,statue and lead to me skiing across the floor only to have the rest of my body come to a stop thanks to my anchoring head. My eyes were watering and I was sure that something vital might have cracked.

The door to my right banged open and a smell so foul and so familiar caused my eyes to water more.

" Who's there!" Professor Covey yelled, sticking her head out of the doorway.

I clutched and pulled on the cloak, covering my feet that stuck out. Her cold eyes scanned the corridor, not seeing anything before, " Professor Cain?"

I turned to look behind me, that new, young Muggle Studies teacher stood a good distance from us, his face pleasantly calm despite being on the receiving end of a Covey Glare.

"Professor Covey? Is there anything I can help you with on this lovely evening?" He asked, again too pleasantly- I would slap someone who was that nice.

Apparently Professor Covey felt the same way as her eyes narrowed, " Less noise while on duty would suffice."

His smiled waned before returning to normal, " Off course, I forget sometimes to consider the more, ah, aged professors here. My apologies, a pleasant evening onwards."

Ouch.

He called her old. I like him.

Covey just threw him a look of disgust and closed the door behind her, I dared not breath as Cain made his way past me, muttering and I swear I heard him call her an "Old trout".

I only let out a breath when I was as far from that corridor as possible and then I, as some muggleborns might say, "Flipped a switch".

I sprinted up the stairs all the way to the Common Room- and before you say anything, I swear on Merlin's Potion Mark I was actually sprinting- fueling off the panic and terror. I snapped an answer at Birdie and stormed in to the circular room, my eyes searching for the one person I knew I could trust. As I expected she was buried behind volumes of books, but looked up at all the ruckus I was making. When her eyes found mine, I knew she knew. She knew who it was, she knew how dangerous our lives had become, but what she forgot was that only the strongest survives.
