Chapter 6

Serena was hiding under Tori's bed when he came home.

Drat, she thought, scheming carefully as he went into the bathroom, I guess that the basement is the best choice.

With that, she ran out from under his bed and into Tori's basement. Then, she locked the door and shifted back into her human form.

Pulling out her phone and leaning her back against the door, she called her mom.

"Hey, hon! How ya doing?" her mother chirped cheerily.

"Not good, mum," Serena answered, blowing a strand of hair out of her face.

"Why?"

"Cuz there's nothing to do in here at all, and I'm really bored."

"Well, did you discover anything else?" he mother replied.

"Yeah, I definitely know he's Skunk Boy."

"Good, now, the next objective is to..."

"What?" Serena whisper-shrieked into her phone.

"I'm sorry, Serena, but we have to capture him."

"No, no, NO!" Serena gasped, shaking her head with horror etched into her features, "this is not what I wanted!"

"Well, we are villains, and that's what we must do."

Too mad to speak, Siri let out an outraged roar and threw her phone to the ground, making it shatter into pieces.

Staring at the pieces as she sobbed, she began to think over her options. The first one was that she could go back to her mother, apologize, and help with kidnapping her best friend. The second one was that she could just wait it out in Tori's room (on his SUPER comfortable bed) and then escape. The third one was that she remained a cat forever and avoided her mother and Tori. The fourth one was...

No, Serena! she ordered herself. Limit your options to one, two, and three.

Taking a deep breath, Serena chose two: she would wait it out in Tori's room and then escape.

Her mind made up, she unlocked the door, slipped back to cat form, and made her way upstairs to Tori's bed.

Later that night, Siri opened up Tori's window and jumped out. Making her way into the city, she morphed into her human form and began to run. There was no specific destination in her mind. She just needed to run.

Finally, her stomach began to growl and she decided that it was time to stop and get some dinner, so she entered a nearby restaurant.

And of course, because the world hated her, her mom was there...robbing the place.

Her mom looked over at her then gave her a half-hearted smile as the manager shouted at her to call the police.

Instead, she ignored him and kept running.

Her feet must have had a mind of their own, or they might have just wanted to rest on Tori's comfortable bed, but they led her right back to Tori's house.

Not bad, Serena shrugged, opening the door and letting herself in.

She quickly made her way to Tori's bedroom and threw herself onto the bed, heaving a sigh of relief as she curled up in a ball.

However, her relief was quite short lived.

"Siri?"

Serena's head whipped up and her eyes locked with another pair of eyes. Tori.

"What the hell are you doing in my room?"
