AN: Hey guys! Here's another oneshot based on a SNEAK PEEK! I thought this seemed eerily similar to another almost-date-proposition. Anyone else see the similarities? Maybe it was just me... but anywho, here's a look into what I'd like to see in the episode. Which means this isn't what the writers will do, but ah well. Whatcha gonna do?

I hope you enjoy, and please leave me a review or message me :)

Blessings,

"This is a pretty good place to launch a small drone," Deeks said as they pulled up to the location and exited the car.

"Long Beach," Kensi said with a smile on her face, enjoying the banter with her partner. "The LBC. Home of Snoop-Dog and The Queen Mary. My kinda town."

"Ho-oh no!" Deeks protested, as Kensi'd expected. "Forget about that haunted ship. Long Beach has the Eldorado skate park. You know what that is?" He didn't wait for her to guess. "That's 15,000 feet of smooth concrete skateboarding bliss."

"What is it with you and skateboarding?"

"Whadaya mean?"

"I mean I get the surfing thing," Kensi said, baiting him. "The ocean… the dolphins… the Zen stuff, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah."

"Zen stuff, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah?" Deeks repeated incredulously.

"But kicking a board down a dirty street dodging cars?" Kensi continued as if he hadn't spoken. "Not interesting."

"Okay, but you and I skating a pool, You know what I mean? The wind in your hair, flowing through transitions. You do that once, I guarantee you, you're gonna be hooked."

He turned and walked away, clearly expecting her to send another belittling remark his way. She bit her lip to hold back a smile. He'd walked right into her little scheme. It sorta reminded her of him asking her out for tacos.

"Okay," she said, falling into step beside her partner. "I'll trust you. I'll try it," she affirmed at his shocked expression. "Why not?"

"Okay," Deeks said hesitantly. "I mean, I feel like you're messing with me, but I'll.. I'll set it up."

"How hard can it be?" Kensi asked, unable to let it go quite so soon. "You can do it."

Deeks just tilted his head to the side, and his eyes momentarily flashed in frustration. Kensi decided—as she did with many things lately—to ignore it.

Kensi startled slightly as her partner kicked the door just a little harder than was strictly necessary, but she shook it off and preceded Deeks into the building calling out "Federal Agents!"

Kensi preceded Deeks into the building, keeping her gun raised until she deemed the building clear.

"Clear," she said. When Deeks didn't immediately reply, Kensi felt herself tense back up. It was only reinforced when Deeks finally did speak.

"Kens," he said. She immediately turned, and she knew it wasn't good. She walked over to where Deeks was holding the dumpster lid open. Inside the dumpster was their suspect.

"Well," Kensi said, "unless this wraps up quickly, it looks like that skate date is gonna have to wait."

Kensi paused, then snort-laughed at her rhyming joke, but when she met her partner's shocked, wide, almost horrified eyes, she doubled over in a deep, belly-laugh.

"Oh!" she cried when she finally caught her breath. "Touché!"

This brought her partner out of it some, and he chuckled slightly.

"You'll never learn, will you Fern?" he asked, shaking his head. She bumped his shoulder as she walked past him to call OPS.

"You wouldn't want me any other way, Shaggy," she said. She paused right next to him, leaned in and whispered in his ear, "I do trust you, Deeks."
