AN: So I just wanted to say hi! Hello! How are you? I'm fine and dandy, thanks :)
I also just wanted to let you all know why I didn't post a one shot for Spiral… well, I was kinda… mad. At Kensi. (Though, for a Deeks-lover like me, that's kinda a constant thing…) Anywho, that's what I was feeling. And I just didn't get enough from them to… write.
That said, these weren't much better. So… I'm latching onto the fact that they walked in together in Sneak Peek 2. And also a few moments I saw in the promo…
I hope you enjoy… whatever this ends up being!

Kensi woke up suddenly, not really sure what had caused her awakening. She looked up and groaned, realizing she'd fallen asleep on top of Deeks on the couch.
"I thought we said we weren't gonna do this anymore," she grumbled, still unwilling to shift out of his arms. Deeks smiled but didn't open his eyes.
"We did say that," he agreed. He didn't make a move to get up, either.
"We can sleep in the bed now," Kensi pressed. Deeks laughed at that, and the movement jostled Kensi's head. She moaned and snuggled deeper into him.
"Yes we can," he agreed, smirking but still not opening his eyes. "In fact, if I remember correctly, we're quite good at it."
Kensi considered punching him for that comment, but at the moment, she just didn't have the energy. Besides, she couldn't stop her smile.
"So why didn't we?" she demanded, finally sitting up and looking down at her partner. Deeks sighed and opened his eyes.
"Because last night was partner bonding night," he said, attempting a shrug that came across a little strange in his current position.
Kensi snorted at that.
"Isn't every night partner bonding night now?" she asked. Deeks sat up and shook his head, looking into her eyes.
"Not really," he said. Kensi cocked her head to the side, confused. "I mean, yeah, we spend almost every night together—and really, that's another conversation for another time—but most of that is as Fern," he said pointing at her, "and Max," he said, pointing at himself.
"Just a boy and a girl, hanging out," Kensi finished with a smile. Deeks nodded.
"Exactly," he agreed. "And I love that. I really do. But last night was about…" he trailed off, unsure how to phrase it.
"It was about Kensi and Deeks as partners," Kensi finished. Deeks shot her a relieved look.
"Exactly," he said again. Kensi laughed.
"How is it that I didn't know that last night was partner bonding night?" she asked. Deeks rolled his eyes.
"I have no idea," he said, his tone taking on a superior tone. "Obviously I'm the only one who can keep a schedule in this relationship."
"Schedule?" Kensi questioned.
"Well, yeah," Deeks said as if it were obvious. "This was our first Friday night movie night since…" he trailed off and just gestured between them.
Kensi laughed at the almost shy speechlessness of her usually effervescent partner.
"Since we got back from Mammoth and started work again," Deeks said, finally finishing his thought. Kensi nodded, understanding what he was saying. She opened her mouth to respond to that when a phone rang on the coffee table.
Both Kensi and Deeks reached for it, and they had to stop and examine it. They weren't quite ready to go public with their thing, and both were cautions about even the smallest things.
When they saw the picture of Eric in his polar bear pjs in a jail cell, however, they both knew it was Deeks's phone ringing.
"Yeah, Eric," Deeks answered, putting the phone on speaker. Kensi stayed silent as she listened in on the call.
"You need to head in," Eric said immediately, skipping the pleasantries. "Hetty's calling everyone in."
"Alright, I'll head in," Deeks said.
"Wait!" Eric called before Deeks hung up.
"Yeah?" Deeks paused, furrowing his brow at Kensi in confusion. She just shook her head and shrugged.
"I can't get ahold of Kensi," Eric said. "Her phone keeps going to voicemail. I'm sure she's fine, but can you either get ahold of her or stop and pick her up? Sam and Callen are already on their way in."
"You got it," Deeks said, hanging up. "What's up with your phone?" Deeks asked.
Kensi shrugged as she reached over and checked her phone.
"Dead," she said, upon further inspection. "So…" she said, smiling. "Since you have to go pick me up… I guess we have time for a very quick shower."
Deeks laughed.
"We're pretty good at that, too," he said, giving her a conspiratorial wink.
Kensi stood up off the couch and pulled her t-shirt over her head.
"That we are," she agreed.
"How bad is it?" Kensi asked as both she and Deeks entered the mission. After a quick-G rated-shower, they'd headed directly into OPS.
"We know about as much as you," Callen said, heading up the stairs.
"Well that's great," Deeks muttered, following the others up the stairs and wondering if this start to the day was indicative of how the rest of the day would play out. "Cause we know nothing."
AN: Well, that's all she wrote. I've honestly got nothing, and I'm not terribly optimistic about this next episode. Sigh. Still, reviews are appreciated :)
