Chapter 8: Intermission:

Somewhere in the Audience:

"You have to admit, for a play performed mostly by inferior men, this play is pretty good." Chizuru Maihara said. "Curses, they're more resourceful than I take them." Benio mumbled under her breath, "Fine then, we'll just be even more resourceful." The three girls then snickered in amusement for what they have planned.

Backstage:

"Great job People! Except…Tamaki-Senpai, what was with that stumble? You could have wreck the stage more than it is!" Renge called. "Sorry, but I felt something wrap around my leg, so I tripped." Tamaki-Senpai explained. "I think that's true, last time I checked there wasn't a cord in the air, but when I saw Tama-Chan stumble I noticed it." Honey-Senpai stated.

"If I didn't know better, I say that the Lobelia girls are trying to sabotage the play from behind the scenes, literally." Kaoru stated with suspicious eyes. "Who else would try to sabotage the play so they can win the bet?" Hikaru asked. "IF THEY WANT TO TAKE MY HARUHI, THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE TO GET HER THROUGH MY UNDEAD BODY! BECAUSE IF THEY KILL ME, I'LL COME BACK FROM THE DEAD TO PROTECT HER! AND EVEN IF THEY KILL MY UNDEAD BODY, I'LL RAISE AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL HARUHI IS ONE HUNDRED, NO… ONE THOUSAND, NO ONE MILLION PERCENT SAFE FROM THOSE SHE-MONSTERS!" Tamaki-Senpai exclaimed with fire burning intensely in his eyes. We just stood there dumbfounded by the image he got into our heads.

"Okay…Thank you so much for those lovely images." Renge-Chan said sarcastically, "And now we have a twenty minute intermission, so let's get ready people!" We all nodded after shaking off Tamaki-Senpai's drama king antics, and went to do our own separate jobs. Although, it was nice for him to be willing to help me. As I was preparing for the upcoming act, who should come but Tamaki-Senpai.

"You ah… you really get a great job out there." Tamaki-Senpai complimented. "Well, it's thanks to all that practice and the great tip about pretending to be on a court case while acting, it was a great acting method." I said as I removed my wig and moved behind a changing screen to change into Joan's French armor for the last half of the play, while memorizing the second half of my script.

"Well, are you nervous?" he asked, trying to strike up a conversation. "A little, I really hope I can make the play seem believable, especially the stake act." I answered, looking back at my script. "Please don't remind me, I'm not mentally prepared for that." he said in his sentimental tone. "You do know this play isn't real, right?" I asked to make sure he knows the difference between fictional and reality. "I know, but it will still be heart wrenching." he protested.

When I stepped out from behind the screen and Tamaki-Senpai's jaw nearly dropped completely from his face. "Oh you look like a warrior from heaven!" he exclaimed. "You're being overdramatic." I stated, averting my eyes. "No really, you look really beautiful!" he said. I blushed at his words. Then our eyes locked and our faces just started moving towards each other on their own.

Then, just when our lips were about to make contact… "PLACES PEOPLE THE SECOND ACT IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!" Renge-Chan yelled through the megaphone into our faces. Immediately, we parted and got back to our preparations for the second and final act. My face became redder and redder by the minute as I just realized that what we almost did. We almost kissed each other.
