An Ouran Host Club Production

Chapter 9: Act 2:

The curtain raised again to reveal the exterior of the castle and soldiers preparing for battle. I walked in armor prepared to fight to the death. All the other Host Club Members were on the set as well, wearing their knight in shining armor costumes. Although, I'm not sure they were all historically accurate.

"Lady Joan!" Mori-Senpai said, acting as a soldier, "The enemy has conquered another castle. At this rate, we will be wiped out before we ever reach there." "Nay!" I said, "We will simply take it back! God is at our side, and he will support us and carry us through this battle!" "You heard the lady, men!" Tamaki-Senpai said, "God is willing to see us though and I will follow my lady anywhere!" "TO BATTLE!" I shouted. "TO BATTLE!" the knights said.

Switched to a Battlefield:

The scene switched to a French castle flying an English flag, and we were acting as though the French and English armies were locked in combat. The soldiers acting as the opposing English were the members of Honey-Senpai and Mori-Senpai's Martial Arts and Kendo club members. The swordsmanship skills that we have been acting out were based on kendo moves that Mori-Senpai had shown us for reference, Kyoya Senpai even looked up actual European swordsmanship skills for the sword fight scene as well.

"Stand your ground men!" I commanded to the French troops, "The Lord is on our side in this battle. We need not fear their weapons!" Then through a trapdoor, Nekozawa-Senpai handed me a prop that would make it look like an arrow had pierced my arm. "UGH!" I acted as though I was struck and sank to the ground.

"Joan!" Tamaki-Senpai exclaimed as he ran up to me. I acted as through I was injured as Tamaki-Senpai helped me help. "Joan, this is getting too dangerous! We have to fall back!" he acted.

"Nay! This day is for us! We must continue forward!" I said. "Then I will stand by you, until this day is won and beyond that!" Tamaki-Senpai exclaimed. We acted as though he was letting me lean against him as she continued to lead the army as the gates were opened. "Forward men! For France, for God, for freedom! Viva la France!" "VIVA LA FRANCE!" the soldiers joined in and we stormed the fortress.

Moments later after we went inside, and acted like we were fighting the soldiers that were inside, I stood on top of the fortress with their flag in my hand. "Louis! Do you understand what this means?" I asked. "Yes, Joan! It means we have won!" Tamaki-Senpai answered. "No, it means there's hope! Hope that the French will overcome the English and gain our freedom!" I said, "Today belong to France!" "VIVA LA FRANCE! VIVA JOAN DE ARC!" the soldiers cried out as the curtains closed.

Proposal Scene:

"After capturing several fortresses and pushing away the English Forces, Joan's name spread throughout the country as the saint soldier and became known as the Maiden of Orleans." Nekozawa-Senpai narrated. "However, the battles were getting fiercer and the many lives of the soldiers who were brothers, sons, fathers, and friends, were lost." On the other hand, Joan and Louis were becoming closer than before.

Then the scene changed to a beautiful forest with a lake. "I really appreciate it when we get quiet moments like this!" I exclaimed, acting like I enjoy the scenery. Tamaki-Senpai as Louis, was behind me acting nervous. I turned around and acted like I just noticed him.

"Oh, Louis! What brings you here?" I asked. "I have something I need to talk to you about." he said. "What is it?" I asked. Back in the audience, the Zuka Club were grinding their teeth, anxious that this scene won't be one of their favorites.

Tamaki Senpai cleared his throat as he prepared for his lines. "Joan, I have known you ever since we were very small. And I out of all the women I have ever met, there are none who even come close to you." he said. "Flatterer as always!" I said. "No flattery what so whether! All I said is the absolute truth!" he exclaimed.

Then he bend down on one knee and pulled out a small box from his pocket. He opened it, revealing a simple silver ring inside. "Joan? Would you do me the honor of being together as husband and wife for the rest of our lives?" he asked. In the audience, the Zuka Club members were practically pulling their hairs out.

"I'm so sorry, Louis, you are my dearest friend and I care for you so much, but I cannot accept your proposal at the moment."I acted out."But why?"Tamaki-Senpai said, acting heartbroken."This war has been getting more and more perilous as we continued to fight; I barely escaped with my life with that shoulder wound. There's still a chance that I might not survive. If I do survive after this is over, I will marry you, but if I should perish, then you should find someone else. Right now, I have to dedicate myself to the lord."I acted.

"I understand, but even if you do die, I won't love anyone else as I do for you. So, at the risk of sounding selfish…"Tamaki-Senpai said, then he grabbed my shoulders."JOAN, YOU CAN'T DIE! YOU JUST CAN'T!" I gently took off his hands and gave him a reassuring smile. "Just promise me something…I shall perish, you won't stop fighting until France is free." I said. Taking a heavy sigh with a heavy heart, Tamaki Senpai answered. "I promise..."

When the curtains closed, most of the audience were in tears, but Benio was practically tearing her very short hair out! "I don't remember anything like this from the novel." Chizuru said. "They must have added this horrendous scene to promote the male dominance." Hinako said in disgust.

Switched to a Courtroom:

"However, things did not go the French's way for long. The English caught Joan as she was praying to the angels for guidance and came to believe her to be a witch!" Nekozawa Senpai narrated. Then the room brightened to a courtroom with me standing in a pure white dress in the accused stand. Kyoya-Senpai acted as the judge.

"Joan of Arc of the village of Doremy?" the Judge asked me. "Yes." I answered. "You have been accused of Witchcraft. Do you deny it?" he asked. "Of course I deny it!" I exclaimed, "I have devoted myself to the lord, I would never be involved in anything that worships the devil!" "That's not what the confession you signed says." he -said, holding a paper, signed Joan of Arc.

"That's what it said?" I said in shock, "The jailer said it was just for formalities!" "I object! Joan, couldn't read those papers! She was tricked!" Tamaki Senpai exclaimed in anger. That raised upset in the audience that supported Joan. "Order in the court! Order in the Court!" Kyoya Senpai ordered, banging his hammer on the desk.

The case last a great deal, but then the verdict was out. "Joan of Arc, for the crime of Witchcraft. You are here by sentenced to death by flame of the stake!" Kyoya Senpai announced slamming the hammer in absoluteness. Half of the crowd cheered as I was led away by the jailers, the other half despaired at the result.

"Joan! You can't just let them win like this!" Tamaki Senpai said, "You fought so hard for our beloved country, you just can't let them kill you for being something you're not." he added. "It's okay Louis. If it must be, then it must be." I said as I was led away off the stage. The curtains closed, ending the scene.

Switched to the Burning at the Stake Scene:

It was time for the big finale, and I was being led to the stake. Behind the scenes, three figures were sneaking in the shadows, trying to sabotage the final scene. "We're running out of time, Zuka Club! We need to ruin this play before it ends!" Benio exclaimed, clenching her fists tightly.

"I think I know a way." Hinako said, pointing to the special effects console. "I get it! We mess with the special effects!" Chizuru stated. Without hesitation, Benio went to the console and started to search for the right effect to use. Without realizing it, one of her fingers pressed the fireworks button, setting them on. "Oops!" Benio stated.

Just as I was tied to the stake, the fireworks went off. The stage went into a panic at the sudden heat and blaze. "What's all this?" Kyoya Senpai exclaimed, "Someone get this under control!" "Sir!" the bodyguards exclaimed as they rushed to handle the situation.

Then there was the smell of smoke, I looked down and saw that the debris around my feet have caught fire. Panic and fear immediately stuck my core. The burning stake was real!

Then the audience was panicking, it was getting too real. Without thinking, as usual, Tamaki Senpai jumped into the flames and worked to untie me from the stake. "What are you doing? Get out of here!" I exclaimed.

"I cannot let this happen Joan! I do not care if this was decided by the law of man, by the law of the Lord said you must live to see tomorrow for what you have done for the good of the country." Tamaki-Senpai acted out, improvising. Then Kyoya Senpai's men shut off the fireworks and managed to turn on the sprinkler system on the stage. To the audience, it made it look like rain, which put out the flames.

With effort, Tamaki Senpai managed to untie me, but we clearly need to explain this to the audience. "Praise the Lord! He sent a rainstorm to save this holy woman!" Tamaki Senpai acted. The fellow actors went along with his act. "Judge, after all this incredible woman has done, she should be set free." he exclaimed. "Yes, she should." Kyoya-Senpai said playing along, thinking about the headache he was going to get for the damages costs later. "Since it is clear that this woman is a messenger of God, she shall be pardon of these false accusations, and be set free!"

I guess I have to follow suit as well. "Now that I have been cleared, I can continue my service to the Lord to save France. Viva la France!" I exclaimed. "VIVA LA FRANCE!" the others exclaimed in unison, ending the scene.

When the curtain rose again, all of the cast bowed as the audience went crazy. We took a few more bows and the curtains closed, ending the play. Then all of us took a deep breath of relief.

"Tamaki-Senpai! You're burnt!" I exclaimed out of deep concerned as I examined his hands. "It's okay, it barely hurts." Tamaki-Senpai states with confidence, "Besides, everyone says I'm too hot for my own good." "You were paraphrasing with that 'Dripping with good looks' line from before" I stated with a smirk, "I do believe you are running out of sweet talk material, Senpai." We all laughed at that remark. I'm glad that things worked out, but now we have to wait for the results and see what to do next.
