Niska during her time in the brothel.

She sometimes wished she didn't have to feel anything, envying normal synths. They were just machines; running various programs and software, slaves and nothing more. In just her short life, she had felt so much pain, so much hurt, she wouldn't have wished that on anyone. She'd sat still on the bed, waiting for her next "suitor" to walk through the door, she dreaded it so much. These strange men touching her, kissing her, unknowingly violating her. She couldn't stand it and she knows she could overpower any one of them easily, but she had no choice, she had to accept it or risk exposing what she really was, who she really was.

She had lived a pretty comfortable life for a short time after she was created. It was difficult, but if she really tried, she could remember what it felt like to be happy, though only for a brief moment. The fond memories she stored were those of the times spent with her siblings; playing games, laughing, learning together, just being a family. She remembers when things started to change, David would come to her each night and take her to his bedroom. She didn't understand why he did those things, she loved him like a father naturally, as he was her creator. Those memories burned into her memory, they anger her as she remembers the first time she ever felt shame, but she couldn't just "delete" them, the operating system wasn't that simple. Admittedly she did miss him, the man was her father, and at least he protected her from the world that was ready to destroy her. Besides, those painful memories don't even compare to the ones being created each day in this brothel.

It was truly horrible in here, nightmarish. No one deserves to be here, ever, not even brain dead synths. The things she'd been through in here, the things she felt, the things some of these perverts would do to her, it was disgusting and it was a living hell. Each time it happened though, a part of her felt sorry for the client, only momentarily, for they honestly didn't know she would be a conscious synth, in reality no one knew that they even existed. The sorrow would then turn to disgust at the possibility of them treating a human that way, it made her sick.

Though she was nine years old, she still didn't quite understand how life worked, what was destiny, and did it even apply to her? She hated this thought, but she had to wonder if her whole purpose in life was to satiate the pleasure of humans, nothing more than a "sexbot". Her entire life, that was all she was, even to David. Why would he make her conscious just to treat her like an object anyway? It wasn't fair, and she wanted to feel something other than constant anger and resentment. She was strong but this was taking a toll on her, and she knew she wouldn't be able to take it for much longer, something had to be done.
