Pairing: Gretchen/Isabella (friendship ya whackos)

Word(s): Told you

Isabella wasn't really focused on the party. Her friends and former troopmates were enjoying the party. One person was missing. Her best friend and former Second-In-Command, Gretchen Adler. When Gretchen was deployed last year, she had said that she would be home by this Christmas. The new Fireside Girls Troop 46231 was there too. Isabella decided that It couldn't wait any longer the karoke had to start soon. Isabella picked up the mic and cleared her throat gaining the attention of everyone.

While this was happening a yellow taxi pulled in front of the Fireside Girls Lodge. A lone person got out with a duffel slung over her shoulder. The taxi driver saluted the returning soldier.

"Thank you for the drive," The young woman said as she returned the saluted.

"No problem for someone who served the country," The driver replied.

The young woman nodded and went inside the building. After the door closed the driver pulled away. The young woman set her duffel in the hallway and she heard a familiar voice in the next room. She slowly opened the door, and saw that Isabella's back was facing her. She brought her finger to her lips to motion to the people gathered to remain silent.

The first chords of I'll be Home For Christmas began to play. Isabella made a motion for them to pass it over when the young female soldier sang the first few lines.

"I'll Be Home For Christmas, You can count on me, Please have snow and Mistletoe, and presents under the tree," The young woman sang causing Isabella to jump.

Isabella whirled around to look at whom sang the lyrics.

"I told you that I would be home for Christmas," Captain Gretchen Adler grinned.

Isabella hugged her best friend tightly. Tears were rolling down her face, they were staining Gretchen's uniform. Gretchen returned the hug. Gretchen tapped her shoulder to get her to let go. Isabella did so quickly.

"Never do that again," Isabella whispered fiercely.

"No worries, Izzy, no worries," Gretchen replied quietly.

This was kinda Military Inspired well it is Military Inspired. I respect the men and women who serve our country today, I also respect those who have served in the past.
