I have to admit that I was conflicted about watching the new season of My Little Pony. I always fear that I will have the same ideas as the creators and they get to it before I do or taking it in a direction that won't fit in with what I'm doing. I like to respect what they are doing and try to fit in my own ideas. I suppose I shouldn't worry too much. It's not like this is cannon or anything. Still… I worry. Again… I shouldn't. Then again…

I'm going to continue to arguing with myself for a while… any way I hope that you are enjoying the story. See you all around next chapter.

Chapter Eight

Birds of a Feather…

There was nothing better than a big breakfast after such an eventful morning. All the Apples and guest were full and ready to face the day. Though there wasn't much to do around the farm now. Applejack and Big Mac could handle most of what was left. Apple Bloom and Babs Seed weren't big enough or strong hull all those apples. It was best if they just go off and play for the day. They both wanted to stick around and help with whatever they could, but Applejack insisted that they go and play.

"Sorry sis, but most of what is left is heavy lifting," Applejack gave her a smile, "You and Babs won't be able to do much. Why don't you take Miss Trinny into town and see what's new?"

Apple Bloom gave a big sigh, "But Applejack, we can help. Me and Babs are plenty strong. We can help finish up the chores. Please?" she gave the biggest pair of eyes she could.

"Pretty please?" Babs Seed joined her cousin.

Applejack wasn't biting, "Come on you two. Do you really think I'm going to fall for that?"

"Maybe," Apple Bloom made her eyes as sad as she could.

Applejack rolled her eyes and released a big sigh, "What about Missy Trinny? I'm sure that she would like some very helpful fillies to show her around town," she motioned over at her.

Apple Bloom looked over to Trinny. She was smiling and laughing as she listened to Granny Smith go on about how things were when she was a little filly. Big Mac would roll his eyes and shake his head on the occasion. The whole conversation ended with all of them laughing and smiling.

"Well…," Apple Bloom thought for a moment.

"Come on cuz," Babs Seed nudged her, "Why don't we go and see what Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle is up to. I'm sure that they will have a lot of fun things to do."

"Well…," Apple Bloom still thought, "I don't know…"

She wasn't sure what she wanted to do lately. She really wanted to start helping out more on the farm. It seemed that Applejack and Big Mac were doing all the work. She would try to pitch in, but they would always say that she was just too little. When they would be done, they wouldn't even play with her. Understandably, they would be tire or have others things that they needed to do for the ponies of Ponyville. It was like there was no spare time to spend with her family anymore. Most of her day was spent wandering around Ponyville looking for things to do… after her chores were done of course. Not that she minded playing with her friends, but one pony can only play hop scotch and hide and seek for so long. And there was the Cutie Mark attempts… a lot of attempts… but no success. There was little joy in trying new things for Apple Bloom.

"Come on then," Trinny broke her thoughtful process, "Let's go see what every pony is up to day," she cheerfully picked the two fillies up with her magic and placed them on her covered back, "I know that today is going to be filled possibilities."

"You three have a good day," Applejack waved them off.

"Bye sis…," Apple Bloom sighed.

"Cheer up Cuz," Babs Seed smiled to her, "I'm sure that we'll find a lot to do."

"Yeah," she managed to smile, "Let's go see what Scootaloo is up to."

"Sounds like a plan to me," Trinny sang as she made her way down the dirt road.

It wasn't long until they found Scootaloo with her idol, Rainbow Dash. Flying through the greatest of ease, she sped through the trees without hitting a single branch. She did loop-da-loops and corkscrews. Whizzing about, she twisted and turned as she made her way through an imaginary obstacle course. She blew passed Scootaloo who was sitting on the ground with a stop watch. Little Scootaloo turned on her seat as the rush of wind went by. She sighed as she stopped the clock.

"How was that!?" Rainbow Dash excitedly asked as she zipped about.

"Thirty six seconds…," she sighed once more.

"THIRTY SIX SECONDS!?" Rainbow Dash seemed horrified by this time.

"It's only half a second slower than the last fourteen times," Scootaloo didn't see the big deal.

"Half a second? Half a second?" she couldn't believe what she was hearing, "It's just half a second this time, but what if my next time is a second off? Or two? Or!?" she grabbed Scootaloo by the face, "WHAT IF IT'S A WHOLE MINUTE! I'll be the slowest Pegasus every! I'll be the laughing stock of Cloudsdale," her eyes went wide with fear, "OF ALL OF EQUESTRIA!"

"Excuse me Rainbow Dash," Trinny noticed her despair, "But I think the wind is the problem. It's probably what held you back a little. Wouldn't you say so Scootaloo?" she smiled down to her.

Looking around a bit, she did noticed that the wind had picked up a little since they first started, "Yeah. It was pretty calm when we started… about two hours ago…," she mumbled the last part.

"Really?" Rainbow Dash looked to the green leaves, "Of course," she too notice that the wind was blowing a little.

"With your flight path," Trinny calculated, "you were flying against the wind instead of with it. It was just giving you more resistance. I would recommend that you practice either somewhere where the wind is not blowing or changing your route."

"That's a great idea," she flew up the Trinny, "I know just the perfect place!" she whizzed off with so much as a goodbye.

"Did she seriously just leave me behind?" Scootaloo watched as she disappeared off into the distance.

"She probably was so excited, that she just forgot to bring you along," Apple Bloom jumped from Trinny's back, "She'll come right back. You'll see."

All four ponies stared at the point where Rainbow Dash vanished. They stared and stared and waited and waited.

Scootaloo sat down and sighed a big sigh, "She said she would help me with my flying today," she sniffed, "She promised."

"It's okay Scootaloo," Apple Bloom tried to comfort her down friend.

"Yeah," Babs Seed tried as well, "I'm sure that she didn't mean to forget."

Scootaloo sighed once more, "It's okay… Rainbow Dash needs to practice… she can teach me how to fly later…"

They didn't know how to cheer up her friend. There was no way that they could track down Rainbow Dash; not quickly anyway. Neither of them knew how to fly; they weren't Pegasus. Being Earth ponies, they felt safest on the ground. They weren't even sure if they would want to fly with the clouds.

"It's not all that hard," Trinny smiled as she gently lifted Scootaloo's head, "Flying is something that seems hard, but it often because one thinks too much about it. They worry about if they are flapping their wings together or if they are flapping hard enough. Do you think that the birds ponder such things while they gracefully flap about?" she asked with a giggle.

"Umm…," Scootaloo looked up to the birds flying overhead, "… They don't look like they do…"

"Nope," Trinny agreed, "It doesn't look to hard does it girls. Scootaloo will get it in no time. Right girls," she gave them a wink.

"Yeah," they both agreed.

"Why don't you show her girls?" Trinny's horn started to glow.

Both of them started to lift off the ground surrounded in her red aura.

"Whoa!" Apple Bloom was thrown off balance her sudden flight.

"Wow!" Babs Seed seemed to have a better time with it.

She started move her hooves like her was running on the ground. Graceful she trotted about and glided just above the ground. She laughed and giggled she jumped over tree branches like they were hurdles.

"Come on Apple Bloom! Scootaloo! You guys can do this!" she swooped over them.

Apple Bloom looked to her hooves and tried moving them like she was running on the ground. She was soon trotting through the air as if the earth was under her hooves. Playing and frolicking about, she smiled and enjoyed the breezed through her mane.

"Come on up Scootaloo!" Apple Bloom took her under one arm.

"Yeah. The air is fine!" Babs Seed took her under the other.

They lifted off the ground and up into the trees. Twisting and turning, they danced about the branches and tipped toed on the canopies. They laughed and giggled as they gracefully played in the warm sun.

"This is such an amazing feeling!" Babs Seed yelled as she raised her hooves into the air.

"I know!" Apple Bloom did the same.

"WHOA!" Scootaloo fell from their arms.

"Oops," the girls looked to one another.

Scootaloo flapped her wings as fast as she could, but she couldn't seem to right herself. She twisted and turned about it the air, but she just started doing more flipping and flapping. There seemed to be no way for her to get start. Apple Bloom and Babs Seed tried to catch up with her, but they couldn't fall fast enough.

"Remember!" Trinny called out, "Don't think!"

Closing her eyes, Scootaloo let her mind go blank. She didn't think about how to flap her wings or how the ground was closing in. she just thought about how the birds just flew through the air so effortlessly. They just seemed to know how to do it. She knew that she could do it.

"You're doing it Scootaloo!" Apple Bloom called out, "You're really doing it!"

Opening her eyes, she saw that she was hovering about three feet off the ground.

She could barely contain herself, "OH MY GOSH!" she squealed, "I'M DOING IT!" she fluttered around, "I'M FLYING… sort of," she noticed that she wasn't going that fast.

"You're doing quite well," Trinny congratulated her.

"I'M FLYING!" she lost her concentration and started to fall.

Trinny quickly caught Scootaloo with her magic, "But like a little baby bird, you have to take one flight at a time," she set all fillies down.

"That was so cool," Babs Seed had a grin from ear to ear.

"Yeah. Thanks Trinny!" Apple Bloom ran up to her.

"It is nothing my dear little fillies," she chuckled, "I'm just glad to see smiling faces."

"It feels good to smile," Scootaloo beamed, "I feel a lot better now."

"Good," Apple Bloom was happy for her, "Why don't we go and see what Sweetie Belle is up too. She shouldn't miss out on all this fun."

"Yeah! Let's go!" both Babs Seed and Scootaloo agreed as started to bounce down the path.

"Come on Apple Bloom, let's not be left behind," Trinny followed after.

She quickly caught up to them and joined in their gleeful prancing.
