I do not own Adventure Time or any of the characters. Before this chapter starts, just want to say, yes, I know that took a drastic turn very fast. But why not? It wasn't bad, was it?

Home

Finn groaned, opening his eyes and looking around slowly. He was in a room that looked like any normal hospital. But it wasn't. He knew the room. He had been in it several times. He also recognized the extremely pale, exausted looking woman beside him and the yellow dog asleep in the chair on the other side.

"Marceline," Finn smiled, tears running out of his eyes.

Marceline smiled as well, placing a hand on top of his head, thumb gently strokinng his forehead.

"Hey," Marceline whispered. "How do you feel?"

"Tired," Finn stated. "What happened?"

"You got hit by a skeleton's hammed and slammed into a rock," Marceline stated. "You had already taken a couple blows to the head and hitting te rock was the final push that sent you into a coma. I killed the skeleton then brought you and Jake here. Jake was fine, just a few scrapes and bruises. But you've been in a coma for weeks."

She swallowed hard, tears welling up in her eyes. Finn smiled, reaching up and wiling them away when they began to fall then took her free hand.

"I'm okay now," Finn smiled. "I'm safe."

Marceline smiled, nodding and leaning down, kissing him. He kissed her back for a moment before she pulled back, smiling. Just as she did, Dr. Princess walked in and smiled.

"So you decided to wake up huh?" Dr. Princess asked. "Well, in that case you're free to go home. Physically you've been healed for a week. However, I am going to have to say that you need to be watched during the day, that way if you show symptoms of any brain damage, we can get you back in here early to check it out."

Finn nodded just as Jake woke up. He instantly jumped to Finn, hugging him. Finn laughed, hugging him as well.

"It's good to see you too," Finn laughed. "I don't suppose I have clean clothes here do I?"

"No, but I'll go get some," Jake said, hurrying out of the room.

Finn smiled and pushed himself up, careful to keep himself covered with the blanket. His muscles were sore from lack of use but he didn't mind. Finn looked out the window, seeing the sun shining brightly in the sky. When Jake got back, the girls left so Finn could get dressed then followed Jake out of the room. Marceline was just outside the door and Finn smiled and slipped his hand into hers as he stepped out.

"So, Jake," Finn said. "I apparently need to be watched for signs of brain damage. I'm going to stay with Marcy for a while. She doesn't go out during the day anyway and then at night I can get my strength back helping her feed."

"Yeah right," Jake snorted. "You just want to be alone with your girlfriend."

Finn sighed and shook his head.

"It's definitely not what you think Jake," Finn snorted. "Dr. Princess ordered me watched."

"Mhm," Jake said walking out of the hospital while Finn and Marceline stopped just inside. "Whatever you say man. I'm heading home. See when you get off house arrest."

Finn sighed as Jake grew to his usual travelling size and left. Marceline transformed into a bat and hid in his backpack and Finn began to walk. As he walked, his eyes watched the sky. There were a few whispy clouds but for the most part it was a cloudless day. They travelled in silence for the most part with thebonly sound being Finn's feet hitting the ground. As the cave came into view, Marceline pushed the flap up enough to talk.

"Did you dream?" Marceline asked.

"Yes," Finn nodded. "It was...really wierd though."

"Why?" Marceline asked.

"Well, for one thing, we were all humans, except for Jake," Finn stated. "Jake was a golden retriever. A normal, non-talking one. I was waking up from a coma in the dream and had this God awful bitch for a mother. She took me home then grounded me for saying I belonged here. I saw a picture of you and asked her why it said something about you leaving in the corner. She said that you had had a fatal disease but that you had been murdered before the disease could kill you. Oh, I forgot, there was a cop when I woke up that accused me of killing someone, come to find out you."

"You killed me?" Marceline snorted.

"No, but no one believed me when I said so," Finn stated. "Anyway, so, I tried school and got into a fight with a couple of kids then got stuck in anger management. The deciding factor was that my mother took me to church then got mad because I didn't believe in the God they were worshipping. Anyway, I went to my first counselling session and it was PB. I described this place to her for a bit but when I started on the Candy Kkngdom she asked if I liked candy so I got mad. She asked me to tell her about you instead and I did. Apparently I did well because I made her question whether she was real or a figment of my imagination."

"Impressive," Marceline snickered. "And here I have trouble even trying to get her to eat something that looks like a bloody corpse. It's not, of course, but still."

Finn laughed, stopping for a minute as Marceline joined in. Then, he started off again, resuming his story.

"Anyway," Finn sighed. "She told my mother I was crazy then agreed to help me find out who actually killed you. I checked out the kids I got into a fight with and the two investigators of the case. All of them seemed to hate me but come to find out, the cops had a right because I had a long history of almost being convicted of serious crimes. Like murder and manslaughter. So, anyway, after we had looked into them a bit, PB said she wanted to meet with me. I went to the meeting place but she wasn't there. I got followed part of the way home but managed to evade them.

"A few days later my mother left the the store and I was learning how to work a pistol when the light went out. People with black cloaks broke in and I used a knife, kinda used the pistol but I sucked with it, to escape. I tried run and ended up in the alleyway where you were found dead and me with the knife but no blood on me. When I got there, two more attacked me and one used some kind of machine to knock me out. While i was out, I remembered the people using you in some kind of ritual sacrifice. When I woke up, they did the same thing to PB before I was able to break free. I killed them all but one shot me before I could. Come to find out, it was my mother, the two cops, and the kids I got into a fight at school with. Before I killed them, my mother explained that they were worshiping some kind of demon and needed blood for it. She explained that she killed you to keep you away from me and PB because PB knew too much. After I killed them I went to your grave, not sure how, and died from the gunshots. Then I woke up."

As he finished, he stepped into the cave and Marceline left his backpack and transformed back into herself, slipping her hand into his. He smiled at him and she leaned on his shoulder as they walked inside.

"I'm glad you're back," Marceline smiled, picking him up and floatinf into the air over the couch, allowing Finn to sit on her lap.

"Me too," Finn smiled. "And I'm not leaving again."

Marceline smiled, floating down to the couch and setting Finn beside her then laying her head on his shoulder again, smiling and wrapping her arms around him as he did the same. He smiled and looked to his right, blinking in surprise as he spotted a mirror and saw them in the exact same position as he and human Marceline had been in the picture in his dream.

"It was just a dream," Finn mumbled to himself, smiling.

"Hm?" Marceline asked looking up at him.

"It's nothing," Finn smiled kissing her.

She smiled kissing him back.
