InuYasha
A Lost Angel Found
Chapter Five
Disclaimer: Once again, sorry about the serious lack of an update. I've started working on catching up on my stories. I'm still having bit of a problem with writer's block; so I would appreciate any suggestions you may have on any of my stories. I'm just going to run with this and hopefully it will turn out good. Hope you enjoy.
Ami limped beside her aunt as they went through the elementary school's gates. She didn't exactly want to be here; remembering how the other kids had treated her before. But her aunt had made it clear that it was time to go back, and maybe things had changed. Everyone had heard what had happened. As they walked through the front doors, the principal met them in the hallway by the office.
"Hello Ami, it's good to see that you're back. We've missed you. If you're ready, I'll take you to your classroom now." the principal replied gently.
"I guess I'm ready." Ami announced quietly, looking down.
"Ami, I'm sure you'll be fine. I'll come and pick you up at 3:00. Just do the best you can sweetheart." mama replied, kneeling down, and raising Ami's chin to look at her.
"I'll try auntie. I still don't want to be here." Ami replied.
"I know dear, but you need to get an education." mama replied standing up. "I'll see you later." The principal gently led Ami to her old classroom and knocked on the door. When there was an answer to come in, he opened the door and entered.
"Miss Yamano, a student of yours has finally returned." the principal smiled gently.
"Well, hello Ami. It's good to see you again. We have all heard what you went through and I hope you are feeling a lot better." Miss Yamano replied gently.
"Yes I am thank you." Ami replied quietly.
"That's good dear, now if you will go back to your old desk, I will continue on with the rest of the lesson." Miss Yamano replied.
Ami did as she was told, and most of her day went well. As her aunt had told her at home, most of the students treated her like a good friend now. They had been horrified when they were told what Ami had gone through with her mother. One or two of the school bullies still tried to bully Ami but the other students stopped them every time.
Even though Ami felt happy and more relaxed now, she was still nervous and fidgeted at times. She just couldn't help it; her life had taught her to be on guard.
As she was eating her lunch outside, she suddenly started to move without trying to. And she was floating off the bench. She let out a slight growl and hooked a leg around a foot of the bench. By the time lunch was nearly over, she was floating and shooting little sparks of fire out of her hands without even trying. Thankfully she was close enough to the door and made a run for it. She had just checked over her shoulder when she suddenly realized she was inside the school. She had just walked straight through the closed door.
"Ami?" the principal's voice called out. Ami flinched and looked down.
"Sir, I think you better call my aunt. I think I need to go home. She'll know what's going on." Ami replied quietly.
"I think you're right Ami. You sit over here and I'll call her...and hold on to the seat." the principal replied, adding the last bit as Ami started to float. She did as she was told and waited for her aunt to arrive. The principal had retrieved Ami's bag and any homework the teachers would have for her that day.
"Ami, are you alright sweetheart? What's going on? Oh I see." mama replied as she approached her niece. Ami let go let go of the bench and rose in to the air, just as small flames jumped from her hands. "Let me talk to the principal for a minute and I'll be right back."
When they arrived home, Ami took her school bag up to her room while mama went in to the kitchen and prepared a snack for her little niece. She heard bit of a thump from upstairs and walked in to the livingroom. She had to stifle a giggle when she saw Ami coming down the stairs holding a couple of books in her hands.
"What happened dear?" mama asked.
"I started to float again and had to grab something. I knocked my chair over doing so." Ami answered with a sour look on her face.
"Well I'm glad you're alright Ami. I've got a snack ready for you. Could you tell me what happened at school?" mama asked as she helped Ami in to a chair and sat down beside her.
"I was having my lunch outside on a bench when I started to float. I had to put my leg around a bench foot. Then fire started coming out of my hands. When I ran for the front doors so no one see what was happening, I didn't notice I how close I was to them and I ran right through them. Auntie, what am I gonna do. I can't go any where with my powers going nuts!" Ami replied, becoming a little upset.
"I think we will have to find someone to train you. But I don't think there is any one in this time to do that. It will have to be someone in the feudal era. But how are we going to get you there? And will you be able to get through the well?" mama replied, saying the last bit more to herself. "Anyways dear, why don't you go upstairs and work on your homework after you finish your snack."
"Okay aunty. I just hope I don't doing any more floating." Ami replied with a preturbed look look on her little face.
In Kaede's hut
"Oi runt, what are you thinking so hard about?" InuYasha replied roughly.
"I was just thinking about Ami. I really want to meet her and help her out." Shippo repied, ignoring the hanyou rough reply.
"We all do Shippo. I just don't know if she can pass through or not." Kagome replied gently.
"I sure hope so." Shippo said simply, but he was already forming a plan in his mind. He was going to bring Ami here any way he could. That night as others slept soundly; he quietly and carefully got up and slowly reached up to Kagome's little shard bottle and took out a small shard. It was a miracle in itself, that InuYasha didn't hear him. The hanyou must be in a sound sleep.
'I'm really scared, but I have to do this. But I don't know why." Shippo thought to himself as he snuck out the door and ran out of the village towards the well.
Once he got there, he silently prayed to the well that he would be allowed through. As if the well actually heard his prayer, the well began to glow. Not wasting a moment, Shippo took a deep breath and jumped in. Once he saw the bright lights that Kagome experience during her trips, Shippo kews that he had passed through. Surprisingly. [Yes people, I know Shippo can't normally go through, but in this story he can; this one time].
He looked up and saw what he figured was the roof of the well house.
"I made it. Now to go get Ami." Shippo replied quietly, and began to climb.
Back in Kagome's Time
"Auntie, a light just came from the well house." Ami replied as she stood by the window in the kitchen. She had just finished supper and was in her pajamas having a snack before bed.
"Really dear. That can't be Kagome already. She just left the day before." mama replied, coming over to stand behind Ami.
That's when they saw the door of the well house open and a small figure slowly come out. Mama and Ami hurried out before grampa or Souta could notice. They had to slow down a little as they noticed the figure cringe.
"We won't hurt you dear. Would you happen to be Shippo?" mama asked gently.
"Yes I am. Are you Kagome's mother?" Shippo asked.
"Yes. Kagome's told me all about you. Why are you here dear?" mama replied.
"I came to get Ami and bring her back to my time. I wanted to meet her, and maybe help her out. Kagome and InuYasha have told me what happened to Ami. Are you her?" Shippo asked, looking at the little girl standing in front of him.
"Yes I am. And I would love to see your time Shippo. I think I need to go there anyways." Ami answered.
"What do you mean?" Shippo asked.
"The powers that I seem to have gained are getting a little out of hand. Aunty thinks that the feudal era is the place to get them in control. I would like your help Shippo." Ami replied, smiling at the little kitsune.
"I would be glad to help you out. And I think I can help you by holding on to you." Shippo replied as he noticed Ami starting to come off the ground. "We should leave soon."
"I'm glad that's settled, but it will have to wait for the morning. It's getting late and I'm sure it's dangerous to be out after dark in your era Shippo. We'll get everything ready so the two of you can leave first thing in the morning.
