A/N: Can you believe it? I'm actually updating…and I updated two days ago too! Craziness! Enjoy!

Rory sighed. She was bored. There was nothing going on anywhere in town. She was currently sitting in the diner, swirling her straw in her coke (her coke was caffeine free, Luke had bought it especially for her). Unfortunately, she already had a cup of coffee and she wasn't allowed to have anymore. Today was a day she really needed more than two cups though. Jess was coming home today and they were going to call the grandparents when he got home. She was so nervous. She knew coffee would help her calm down, but damn that Luke, he was sticking to a one coffee mug rule.

The door to the diner burst open. "Jess comes home today!" Emma shrieked, when she saw Rory.

Rory smiled at her little sister. "Yes, he does."

"What time is he getting here?" Emma asked.

Rory looked at her watch. "Well, he said somewhere around four, so in about two hours."

"That's a really long time!" Emma groaned.

Rory smiled at Emma's dramatics. "Yes, it is. What are you doing by yourself anyway? Dad will have a fit if Mom let you come here by yourself."

Emma rolled her eyes. "I'm almost eight years old! It's Stars Hollow, what's going to happen to me? But, Mom and Aaron are coming. I just walked a bit faster."

Rory raised her eyebrows. "A bit faster?"

Emma shrugged. "I thought Jess might be here."

The door to the diner opened again and Lorelai walked in with Aaron trailing. When she saw Emma sitting with Rory she walked toward them. "I told you, babe," Lorelai said to Emma. "Jess isn't here yet."

"It never hurts to be safe," Emma said.

"How are you, Kid?" Lorelai asked Rory.

"Nervous," Rory answered. "Jess wants to call the grandparents today. He should be here around four and then we're going to go home and call them."

"Drink coffee," Emma suggested. "It might calm your nerves."

"Dad won't give me anymore," Rory reminded her sister. "I already had one cup."

Emma wrinkled her nose. "Boo!"

Rory nodded her agreement as she stood up. "Well, I think I'm going to get out of here. I can wait at home just as well as I can here."

"Where do you think you're going?" Luke asked, appearing at their table. He rushed over when he saw Rory get up.

Rory looked at him strangely. "I'm going home."

"No, you're not!" Luke said decidedly.

"Oh, really?" Rory asked.

"If you go home, you'll have the temptation to make a pot of coffee," Luke told her. "I'd like to make sure you stay healthy and don't endanger yourself or your child anymore than you already are by drinking two cups a day."

Rory narrowed her eyes at him.

Lorelai saw the anger in her daughter's eyes and tried to diffuse it, knowing her hormonal induced anger wouldn't be good. "Rory! Why don't you just wait here with us? Besides, the kids want to see Jess and if you're here, they can see him too."

Rory sighed, remembering her vow to keep her hormones at bay and not let them control her life. "Fine," she agreed, walking back to her seat.

"Can we get some coffee, Luke?" Lorelai asked. "Emma and me?"

Luke rolled his eyes, but walked up to the counter to get the coffee.

"Here, I'll help," Lorelai said, following him.

"Don't come behind the counter," Luke commanded. She was still following, but she sat down on a stool when he got the coffee mug.

"I know, I know," Lorelai told him. "You've told me at least a hundred times."

Luke raised his eyebrows. "That's never stopped you before."

"True," Lorelai conceded. "I don't know why it's a big deal. I'm insured now! Anyway, that's not why I came up here. You've got to be more careful!"

"More careful?" Luke asked.

"With Rory!" Lorelai clarified.

"Mommy!" Emma suddenly interrupted. "Can I have my coffee please? And Aaron's coke. We're thirsty!"

Lorelai laughed and handed her daughter the drinks. "Sorry. I'll be over in a minute."

Emma shrugged, and walked back to the table.

Lorelai shook her head. "That child. I love that she's such a Gilmore girl."

"More careful with Rory?" Luke questioned, bringing Lorelai back to the conversation they were having and choosing not to comment on how he wished Emma wouldn't be such a Gilmore girl.

"Right," Lorelai said, remembering. "She's almost four months pregnant and ever since the beginning her hormones have been going crazy. She's going to get mad a lot more easily than she ever did before and you can't say things like that to her!"

"Things like what?" Luke inquired, truly curious.

Lorelai rolled her eyes. "Like implying that she's going to make coffee at home and basically telling her she's not taking care of herself or her child! It's going to upset her; didn't you see the way her eyes narrowed at you when you said that?"

"I'm sorry," Luke apologized. "I really am. I'm not trying to upset her. I just want to make sure she's taking care of herself. I want her to stay healthy and I want her baby to be healthy too."

Lorelai smiled. "I know. I just wanted to tell you. I like that you care so much about my daughter."

"Our daughter," Luke corrected.

Lorelai smiled and got up. Luke met her halfway (so she wouldn't be behind the counter) and let her hug him. She pressed her lips to his and would've continued kissing him if her children's voices hadn't interrupted them.

"Oh, just go away," Aaron grumbled.

"Does it actually look like coffee to you?" Emma asked annoyed.

Luke and Lorelai broke apart, turning toward the table. Lorelai sighed and Luke slightly growled. Taylor was standing at their table. Emma and Aaron were looking annoyed and Rory was looking upset again, but this time she looked sad.

Luke narrowed his eyes and walked over to the table. "What do you think you're doing harassing my children, Taylor?"

"Now, Luke, I'm not harassing," Taylor said. "I'm just trying to tell Rory that she shouldn't be drinking coffee, especially not when she's pregnant!"

"We told you!" Emma cried. "She's not! It doesn't even look like coffee!"

"And I'm surprised at you, Luke," Taylor continued. "Giving her coffee when she's pregnant. You, of all people, should know how bad it is for her!"

Rory sighed. "Taylor, it's Coke."

"It still has caffeine!" Taylor exclaimed. "It's still bad for you!"

"It's Caffeine Free Coke!" Luke roared. "I bought it for her so she wouldn't have to drink Sprite all the time. Any other questions?"

"Well, you should really let people know these things, Luke," Taylor went on, trying to justify his mistake. "What if other people wanted Caffeine Free Coke?"

"You can leave now," Aaron grumbled.

Taylor glanced at Aaron. "You really need to be teaching your kids some manners! Goodness gracious, Luke. They are going to become just like you and then—"

"Get out, Taylor!" Luke shouted. "Out!"

"Luke, I'm just trying to tell you—"

"I don't need or want to talk to you, especially not about my children. Get. Out!" Luke repeated.

"I'm quite appalled at your display—" Taylor tried again.

Luke grabbed his collar and pulled him toward the door. Aaron jumped up eagerly and, with a smile, opened the door for Luke. Luke pushed Taylor out the door. "Keep your comments to yourself! Especially concerning Rory!"

"The whole town is watching me!" Rory cried.

"No, they aren't, it just seems like they are!" Lorelai tried to placate her daughter.

"Dad is watching me! And before you tell me that's part of his job, Taylor has no emotional connection to me whatsoever and he's watching me!" Rory countered.

"Taylor's nosy!" Emma offered.

Rory sighed. "I'm going upstairs. Dad won't let me go home, so I guess I'll just have to chill out in his office!"

She rushed upstairs and Luke and Lorelai sighed. Aaron shook his head. "Taylor needs to move."

Emma giggled. "But Aaron, it wouldn't be Stars Hollow without Taylor and Daddy's angry fits!"

Lorelai laughed as her daughter pointed that out. "That's true. Besides, I love watching you yell at Taylor, it's so—"

"Stop!" Luke cut in. "Stop right there. I know where you're going and before you finish, I must remind you that our kids are sitting right beside you!"

Lorelai wiggled her eyebrows. "Well then, I'll just tell you tonight."

"Aw, jeez," Luke groaned.

"Dirty!" Emma sang out.

"Aw, jeez," Luke repeated, walking away from their table.

Emma looked toward the curtain that Rory disappeared behind. "Hey, Mommy. In five months, Rory will stop being so crazy, right?"

Lorelai laughed. "I certainly hope so."

Aaron shook his head. "I wouldn't bet on it."

"Oh, why not?" Lorelai asked him.

"You three are always crazy!" Aaron said.

Emma rolled her eyes. "Boys!"

Rory groaned as she sat on the couch. She looked at her watch. It was 3:00. Well, even though it was horrible, at least an hour had passed. She certainly hoped it wasn't going to be like this for the rest of her pregnancy. The nosy town she could handle, after all, she was used to that. Luke telling her not to go home because she was libel to make coffee and endanger herself and the baby was what she couldn't handle! How dare he say something like that? Did he really think so little of her, that she didn't have enough willpower to control it? Sure, her coffee loving was an addiction, but she loved the little baby growing inside of her much more than she could ever love her coffee.

Rory knew she really shouldn't be up here right now. After all, she had made that vow to ignore her hormones. She had done pretty well until Taylor had stuck his nose into her affairs. She was able to keep her hormones at bay when Luke implied she was going to make coffee. She had been angry, but she had managed to diffuse it. After two situations in such a short time though, her vow didn't seem as important anymore. She wanted to sulk, be miserable, irritated and nothing was going to stop her!

She looked toward the door when she heard a knock and she sighed. She saw the outline of a baseball cap and she was sure it was Luke. Besides, he'd be the only one to knock anyway. Her mom would just barge right in. "Can I come in?" a male voice called, further proving her hypothesis that it was Luke.

"It's your office," Rory called back. "I can't stop you."

Luke sighed as he walked in. "I didn't mean what I said earlier."

Rory looked him in the eye. "Yes, you did."

"But I didn't mean for it to sound like I didn't trust you," Luke corrected.

Rory tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, looking away from him. "Then what did you mean?"

"Rory," Luke sighed. "Before your mom and I got together, there were only two people in this town I would do anything for. Those two people were you and your mom. After we got together and had Aaron and Emma, that feeling only intensified and two children were added. I realize you're not a child anymore, but I still have a protective instinct toward you. I still want to protect you from any harm and that's why I always lecture you about the coffee. This afternoon, that instinct kicked in before my logical reasoning did. I don't know what your mom, Jess, Aaron and Emma would do if something happened to you. I don't know what I would do if something happened to you."

Rory softened. "Nothing is going to happen to me. I am only drinking two cups a day like I promised. I'm sure Mom drank more than that when she was pregnant. Besides, I know I didn't exactly want this child, but I definitely love it and I would never do anything to endanger its life or mine."

"I know," Luke told her truthfully. "I just worry."

Rory nodded. "I know. But please don't. I'm fine; I will be fine."

Suddenly the door banged open. "Everything okay in here?" Lorelai asked.

Rory rolled her eyes at her mom's perception of privacy. "We're fine. I swear, if my hormones don't calm down in the next few months, I'm going to end up killing someone."

Luke laughed. "I was sure I was going to die when your mom was pregnant."

Rory smiled. "I can see her threatening your life more than once."

"I did," Lorelai admitted. "But in the end, I still don't know what I'd do without you."

"Okay, okay," Rory said, getting up and walking to the door. "Don't get gross. Or, at least let me get out of the room before you do so."

Rory shut the door behind her and shivered at the thought of what exactly was going on in there. She hoped her parents didn't get too involved, she thought with a look at her watch. This hour was going to take forever.

Rory walked down the stairs and joined Aaron and Emma at the table. "Are you okay?" Emma asked Rory.

Rory smiled at her sister. "I am."

Emma nodded. "Good." She directed her gaze out the window. Suddenly she gasped and shot up out of her seat and out the door.

Rory followed her sister with her eyes and smiled as she saw Emma about to strangle Jess. He was early. Well, this could be good or bad, considering that they would have to call the grandparents now, but at least he was home.

"JESS!" Emma cried once outside. "I've missed you!"

Jess smiled and knelt down to her level. "I've missed you too, midget."

Emma ran toward him when he was at her level and hugged him with such vigor Jess almost lost his balance. Jess couldn't help but laugh. He also couldn't help but think it would be amazing when this was his child, hugging him after he'd been away for a while.

When Emma pulled away, he stood up and took her hand. "Where is your other half?"

Emma scowled at him. She hated it when he called Aaron her other half. "Aaron is in the diner with Rory. Speaking of, do you think Rory will be any less crazy with you around?"

Jess couldn't help but laugh. "Honestly, I doubt it. In fact, some days, it will probably be worse."

Emma rolled her eyes as they stepped into the diner. "Oh, great."

"Hey midget," Jess greeted Aaron. Jess walked over and put his arm around Rory's waist.

"Hello giant," Aaron said back to Jess. "If you insist on calling me midget, then I had to come up with a name for you."

Jess raised his eyebrows. "You just wait until you're taller."

"Well, then you won't call me midget anymore," Aaron pointed out. "Since that will be the case, I will have no reason to call you giant."

"You two are crazy," Rory said, joining in on their conversation.

"You know who you sound like," Emma said. "Mommy and Rory."

Aaron and Jess both gasped in mock horror. Rory just laughed at her sister. "You know, they do at that. Do you think we've rubbed off on them?"

"Dirty!" Lorelai cried, appearing from behind the curtain.

"Jeez, Mom," Rory said, startled. "Eavesdropping on us?"

"Nope," Lorelai denied. "Just listening."

"Mommy, your hair is messed up," Emma told her mother. She tilted her head. "It was fine before you went upstairs."

"Well, you see, Emma…" Lorelai began.

"Hi, they're kids," Rory cut her off. "Besides, shouldn't you wait until they're a bit older to share these things?"

"Yes, you definitely should," Luke agreed, coming out from behind the curtain.

"Good to see you, Uncle Luke," Jess said.

Luke groaned. "While I have missed you Jess, I can't say I've missed your…sense of humor."

Jess smirked. "You know you love me."

"Actually I question myself on that daily," Luke snarled, good-naturedly, back.

Rory had to laugh. "It's really been incomplete around here without you, Jess."

"Well, then, it's a good thing I'm back," Jess said. He turned to Rory. "You ready to go home and use the phone?"

"What is that, some sort of euphemism that I'm not familiar with?" Lorelai asked, curious.

"No," Rory told her mother, wrinkling her nose. "We have to call Grandma and Grandpa and we decided we would do it when he got back to get it over with. I told you that already."

Lorelai nodded in remembrance. "Well, good luck, Kid. Just remember what I told you, bend the truth."

"Yeah, yeah," Rory said. "I remember. I'm supposed to turn the truth into a pretzel. Got it."

Emma got up and hugged Jess tightly again. "Bye!"

Rory and Jess said goodbye to everyone else in their little family and then went on their way. They were both thinking about calling Emily and Richard and were wondering what to say when they did.

Hmmm…what is going to happen when they call the grandparents? Is Emily going to throw a fit? Or could Richard be the one who isn't pleased? Or will none of that happen? You'll have to stay tuned and find out! Please drop me a review and thanks for reading!
