Natsu was sitting on Lucy's bed whilst eating chicken from her fridge. Lucy was in the kitchen putting together her yogurt and biscuit snack with a little bit of strawberry sauce. Natsu could her humming some unknown tune that popped into her head. He liked the way Lucy would do that. How something would just pop into her head and she would make sense of it. That was one of the reasons he liked her and one of the reasons why he kept sneaking into her apartment.

The young mage kept looking over to the picture frame he saw earlier. He kept thinking back to when he first met Lucy; how she was a happy but yet hiding her sorrows. In other words he thought she was a lot like him. And she was the only person who understood him. Yeah people know how he misses he father, but what they don't know is how many mixed feeling he had: Hatred, for leaving him alone. Sadness, for leaving him behind. Disappointment because he was abandoned once again. He was abandoned by his birth parents and now by Igneel who was more like a father to him than ever.

But ever since Lucy came those feeling didn't matter because she felt the same. She held back the tears, same as he did. Every year on the same day he would have the same dream, which would repeat over and over again. It was the dream that reminded him of when Igneel disappeared. How he stood there as the wind blew his pink locks to and fro. He felt so empty. He would sneak over to Lucy's house now and snuggle up to her and somehow she would make it all better. He didn't know how but she just did.

Lucy stood there staring at the idiot who had his eyes closed and looking to the floor. She thought it was cute when his face would suddenly change emotion. She slowly placed her bowl of yogurt on her desk and quietly creped over and sat down on the floor in front of the dragon slayer. For some reason Lucy felt warm and safe inside when she was near him. She didn't know why but in other words she didn't care. She stared at him more and watched as his fringe fell down onto his face.

His emotion changed and he looked sort of lonely. Lucy tilted her head wondering what he could be thinking,

'What is he thinking?' Lucy tucked her legs into her chest and stared more at the boy in front of her. She closed her eyes and listened to the pattern of his breaths. Resting her chin on her knees Lucy could feel herself falling asleep,

"Lucy" Lucy shot up and stared at the mage with wide eyes. Did he just say her name? Lucy was confused at what she just heard. She got up slowly and walked to the other side of the room.

When Natsu reopened his eyes, his first instinct was to look for the blonde. He stood up and followed his nose. He found her in the kitchen with one hand on the side and one hand which looked like it was on her face. But he couldn't see clearly because she had her back to him.

"Lucy?" Lucy gasped and turned around quickly. Natsu stared at her with wide eyes. She had red swollen eyes, wet tear stains on her cheeks and red cheeks and nose. Lucy began to sniff and wipe her arm across her nose. She rubbed her eyes to try and make it look like she wasn't crying but Natsu already knew she was.

"Lucy why are you crying?" he began to make his way near her but stopped when she interrupted him,

"NO! Stay away from me. You'll only make it worse." Lucy held her arm out to stop him stepping closer as she turned her body round. Natsu tried to look round but he couldn't. He stepped forward and grabbed her arm and pulled her in,

"I said no!" Lucy pushed him back, which cause the male to freeze.

"It hurts me... it hurt me to think that I once knew you. It hurts me to know you care along with the others. And then when I look at you..." Lucy froze and looked up into his onyx eyes,

"I look at you and think 'wow what a great guy I wish I was his friend' and it hurts me inside to know that you are my friend but I know nothing about you or who you are. To me you're like a STRANGER but inside I know who you are but it's just too blurry and I can't make it out. And I'm all ways having to keep my guard up." Lucy turned round to face away from the male, who said nothing but look away from her,

"I guess what I'm trying to say is, I want you to stay away from me from now on. Tell the others that as well," Natsu's eyes shot open as he quickly turned his head up.

"Luce?" Natsu reached out his hand but pulled it back in when she turned her body more.

"Please just go" Lucy was trying to keep the tears in but it wasn't working. They came out and there was nothing she could do.

After a long silence Lucy heard the door quietly close. She fell to the floor as soon as she heard it close. Letting all the tears go. She didn't care anymore about her memory. It hurt too much to figure it out. She would rather not remember than go through all this pain. I mean nothing was going to happen to her, just that she won't remember them anymore. But she can always make friends with them again from the beginning. But would it be the same?
