Ch.17: Stopping Rasvim
"You let Kim go right now!" growled Danger, glaring at the three villains that stood in front of him.
From her orb, Kim whimpered and cried, calling out for her friends to rescue her, in which they were all determined to try.
"Fat chance of that happening" said Darkstar, sporting a wicked grin " Why let her go when we can conquer a whole universe instead? Those who stand in our way will be destroyed."
"And just what exactly are you seeking to accomplish?" asked Ace.
"Power rabbit, plain and simple" said Darkstar " With the power of the Star Child, we can be the most powerful force in the whole galaxy. If a few innocent people and toons have to die, then that's all fine for my sake."
"Bad news Doc" growled Ace " but you're not using that dip to take anyone out."
"Rasvim please, think about what you're doing!" said Plucky, turning towards his former master " Is this really the way you want to go? I know you're a destroyer but…,"
"Don't patronize me traitor!" said Rasvim " You're as worthless as the other toon spawn."
"You didn't always think so" said Plucky, sadly "What happened to the hope of preserving their legacy?"
"There's no point anymore," said Rasvim.
"Despicable" said Duck Dodgers, grinding his fists, he had heard quite enough of the conversation " All of you are despicable!"
"You sound just like Daffy," said Judge Doom " But enough chat, let's get on with the plan!"
"Yes" agreed Rasvim " Come out my soldiers and destroy them!"
With that said, Rasvim waved out one of his claws, and soon a whole army of soldiers appeared, ready to help the villains in their fight.
"Loonatics attack!" shouted Ace, and he and his team leapt into gear, Plucky and Dodgers following behind.
Using their super powers to their fullest, the Loonatics quickly brought on the pain to Rasvim's cold-hearted goons. These ghouls were almost similar to Black Velvet's shadowy creations, only they had a much more brutal nature and an instinct to kill.
Ace and Lexi stood back to back, blasting fiercely as a few of the soldiers managed to cut them off from the rest of their team. Dragging out his Guardian Strike Sword, Ace quickly tried to cut down a few of the enemies, while Lexi helped out with her brain blasts, evening the odds.
Soon, the sounds of an angry tornado could be heard as Slam activated his super powers blowing away a massive wave of enemies with just one swipe. Soon, there was a massive clearing in the path where he once stood.
Ace and Lexi grinned at each other, Slam's unexpected hurricane helped get rid of the few stragglers standing around them as well, and now the bunnies were free to see Duck, Tech, and Rev caught up in their own fights.
Nodding that they should help them out, Ace raced forward and led Lexi and Slam into the charge, seeking to put an end to this fight.
Plucky barely paid attention to the Loonatics as he and Dodgers charged ahead towards Rasvim, taking advantage of the soldiers diversion with the crime-fighting team.
A couple of jackal-like thugs, whose minds weren't focused on the Loonatics, came to stand in Plucky and Dodgers way, only to be quickly taken out by Plucky's gun. Plucky knew these soldiers weaknesses better than anyone, having had worked under Rasvim for many years.
Taking out a couple more goons from up ahead, Plucky saw the way seemed so clear as they approached Rasvim, but the green mallard's hope was quickly dashed, as a sharp pain suddenly sliced at his side.
Hearing his comrade's cry of pain, Dodgers stopped and turned around just in time to see Plucky fall to his knees, hand cradling blood, as his attacker stood proud, smirking at his evil deed.
"Danger Duck?" thought Dodgers for a second, before looking left and noticing the real superhero engaged with Rasvim's goons. No, this wasn't that duck, it was his evil twin.
"Darkstar!" Dodgers growled.
Darkstar just smirked, pointing the tip of his sword down at Plucky.
"Pity he didn't put up more than a fight" said Darkstar " can you fare better Duck Dodgers?"
"Just watch me," said Dodgers, drawing a plasma sword from his belt. "Good thing Marvin gave me one just before we set off on this little adventure."
It had been a long time since Dodgers had been involved in a sword duel, and he hoped he still had the skills when it came to fight. In a manner of seconds, both him and Darkstar's blades clashed, and the two foes glared at each other, anger burning bright in their eyes.
From inside her bubble, Kim whined as her paws clawed pathetically over the smooth surface of the glass, disturbed by the fighting below. Her friends were in trouble and there was no way to help, not while she was stuck in here.
Rasvim was getting mad as his cold eyes observed the progress of the fight. His soldiers were being taken out faster than he thought, and their current streak, he knew that they were going to lose. The heroes would get through and all of his plans would be dashed.
"Not now!" the jackal growled in his mind " Not when I'm so close!"
Turning down his gaze upon Judge Doom, Rasvim instantly barked out his command.
"Activate the machine!"
"Yes Sir," said Judge Doom, and instantly pressed a button on the gun.
Moments later, the gun turned on, and Kim let out an earth-shattering scream of pain, as tendrils of her energy were suddenly harshly ripped from out of her body and used to power the deadly machine.
Danger Duck heard Kim's scream all the way from his own fight, and paused at sending several more power eggs flying to knock down a few more goons. His blue eyes immediately gazed up to the gun's tip, where little Kim was screaming in pain.
Anger and concern glowing bright in his chest, Danger immediately quacked himself around the goons, and up to the weapon where Kim was trapped. Soon Danger was perched on top of the gun, only a few inches from reaching out and setting Kim free.
"No, stop him!" cried Rasvim, seeing what Danger was up to.
Thinking fast, Judge Doom set the gun to fire just as Danger called up one of his power eggs to break the orb free from the gun, and then leaned down to pick it up in his hands.
A huge jolt of highly charged energy immediately zapped through Danger Duck's spine, making the poor hero cry out in pain. The dip pool bubbled and spat, making its way to fire out the gun's end.
Fortunately though, despite all of the harsh pain he was feeling at the moment, Danger still managed to quack him and Kim out of the way before the gun released its deadly goo.
However, though he had managed to rescue them both somehow, the repercussion from getting zapped caught up to Danger as he reappeared from his quantum quack. Instantly the mallard's eyes grew weary and heavy, leaving his body to collapse to the floor. The orb holding Kim rolled free from his hands and broke, setting the little wolf pup free.
"Duck!" yelled Ace, having seen his brave friend's fall.
Eyes glowing red with hate, the yellow bunny instantly focused his gaze upon Judge Doom and blasted the court room reject into his own vat of deadly dip. Howls of pain could be heard as the old judge melted and died, while Rasvim watched with fearful stare.
"Oof!" could be heard as Dodgers finally managed to knock Darkstar out on the ground, proud that his sword skills hadn't dwindled over the years.
Mal had proven to be a tougher opponent than Dodgers thought, and the old space hero looked around to see the status of their battle.
All of Rasvim's goons have been beaten and gone, Darkstar was now no longer to fight, and Judge Doom had been taken care of by Ace. Things had really turned towards the good guys advantage, even though there was some concern where Danger lay, Kim whining at his side, and with Plucky still nursing his wound.
Taking a deep breath, Duck Dodgers glared his eyes, and pointed them straight at Rasvim.
"You've lost Rasvim" said Duck Dodgers " Step down and surrender."
"Never!" growled the jackal "The Star Child is the key! She was the key to fixing all of this."
"Fixing what may I ask?" questioned Tech " Just what could you have gained by wiping out the entire universe?"
"Not wiping…remaking, so that I would have never lost my love" said Rasvim " saved once by him…the black duck with the white ring."
"Dodgers?" guessed Lexi, noting the white ring on the duck's neck.
"No" said Dodgers, recognition finally beaming on his face as he stepped up to Rasvim " Daffy."
From on the ground where he lay, Plucky looked up at Duck Dodgers stunned. It taken the green duck a year to be trusted with the secret Rasvim was hiding.
"How…how did you know?" asked Plucky.
"Because…" spoke Dodgers, stunning everyone in the room with his next words " I am Daffy Duck."
