Love Is War
Draco Malfoy swaggered into the Great Hall with a smirk on his lips. When he was sure that every eye was on him, he called Potter out.
Harry stood up with a blank expression. "Huh?"
"Mr. Potter, I'm afraid that Mr. Malfoy has called a duel. Due to your familial connection, if you refuse the duel then you forfeit the Black name and fortunes," McGonagall explained tersely.
Beside him, Ron was muttering swearwords under his breath. Hermione was reciting some legal stuff that she'd read somewhere. Apparently, it was all true because she gave him a sad look and a final nod.
"Alright. When do you want to do this, Malfoy?"
"Right now, Potter. Unless you're too scared?"
"I'm ready when you are."
Dumbledore hastily banished the tables, conjured a dueling platform, and erected a barrier around it.
Harry whispered as Malfoy passed him, "Be grateful, Malfoy, when you lose."
Malfoy sneered at him. Harry figured that he'd give Malfoy no more warning. He was pretty sure that Malfoy was counting on being able to kill him without consequence, thinking that he wouldn't try the same. Harry wasn't sure that he wouldn't.
Neither of them bowed to the other and quickly Flitwick counted them off. "One..Two..Three!"
Harry dodged the barrage of spells cast at him, ignoring the gasps of shock which confirmed that some of them weren't Hogwarts-appropriate. He calmly stepped left of a blood-boiling curse, taking a further step left and jumping up to avoid two curses that he didn't recognize. Malfoy was starting to cast darker spells as he got more desperate, but none of them were hitting their mark. Harry made his way closer to Malfoy, stepping forward even as he dodged Malfoy's spells. When he was directly in front of Malfoy, he grabbed the boy's throat and lifted him a few inches off the ground. Malfoy dropped his wand, ending the duel. Harry stared Malfoy in the eye and then, to the shock of everyone, kissed him.
Harry smirked at Malfoy's open expression. Shock. Arousal. Fear. Harry congratulated himself as he re-played the violent kiss in his mind. He'd bitten Malfoy's lips hard enough for them to bleed and left bruised handprints on his neck. Harry gave it a week before Malfoy came crawling to him for more.
