Well hello there. Long time no see. My bad; I'm sorry! But, despite the shortness of the chapter and amount of time to get it posted, I present to you, chapter seven. I hope you enjoy. (:

Disclaimer: I don't think Stephenie has a best friend who worries about whether or not her boyfriend's mom thinks she's a slut.

A Little Confusion--

Bella's POV.

I woke up on Sunday to find a large box sitting on the kitchen table. There was a note from Charlie on top of it.

Bells, this was sitting on the front porch when I went to get the paper this morning. It's addressed to you. Billy and I are fishing and I'll be back around noon. Love, Dad.

I sighed. He was always fishing. I fetched a knife and cut through the tape on the box. It was stuffed with tissue paper. Resting on top was another note in handwriting I didn't recognize.

You'll thank me for this later.

I pulled the paper out and found…the blue dress I had tried on, as well as the lethal yellow heels I almost died in.

"Alice," I groaned. I took the box upstairs and pulled the dress out. I held it against my body and examined myself in the mirror. It really did look good on me. I bet Emmett would like it, just like Alice said. Edward certainly did. The look on his face was a Kodak moment, for sure, but the meaning behind his eyes…scared me a little. And what scared me even more was that I actually kind of liked how he was looking at me. I felt like I was good enough to please the sexiest man on the earth.

What the heck?! Am I insane? God, Bella, you have a boyfriend for crying out loud. You can't think of other guys like that. Especially not Edward. You're just friends, and that's all you'll ever be.

…why does that bother me so much?

I tossed the dress on my desk chair and climbed back into bed.

Emmett's POV.

The bell rang, signaling the end of first period. I grabbed my stuff from either sides of my desk. When I looked up, Rosalie Hale was sitting on top of the desk, smiling down at me.

"Hey Emm," she said in that sexy tone of voice she had.

"Uhh, hey." Why was she talking to me? She never talks to me. I felt my pulse quicken.

"Some lesson today, huh?" She popped her gum and grinned.

I nodded; I was having trouble forming a coherent thought. She smelled so good…

"Well listen," she said, tossing her long blond hair over one shoulder. "I was wondering if maybe you wanted to come over later and work on this homework. I might even let you see my babies." She winked.

I couldn't help but grin. Why not? She was always boasting to Mr. Cavue about her "babies." I was a little curious.

"Sounds good," I said.

"Awesome! How about at six?" She gave me directions to her house.

"Cool. See you." Rosalie left the room, her hips swaying like nobody's business.

That goofy grin stayed on my face as I gathered everything and left the room. I had a date with Rosalie Hale. And it even stayed put as I accidently ran into some girl in the hallway; but it didn't matter, because I had a date with Rosalie Hale.

"Hey Emmett. Why're you grinning like that?"

It was Bella that I ran into. And I had a date with Rosalie Hale.

Oh crap!

Bella's POV.

I was halfway to my second class when I realized I had left something in my locker. I doubled back, passing Rosalie Hale. She had been wearing a faint smile on her painted lips, but once she saw me, it faded to a frown. Hmm. Deciding that I didn't care, I picked up my pace as much as I dared and promptly ran into a big mass of person. It was Emmett.

"Hey Emmett," I said, looking up at him. There was a dazed look on his face and a huge grin. "Why're you grinning like that?"

"Wha—what?" he stuttered.

"Well, you look like a kid in a candy store."

"Oh! Umm…" he shook his head, and smiled down at me. "I uh, just really liked the lesson today."

"Oh."

"Yeah. Sorry Bells, but I've gotta go. I'm about to be late!" He gave me a quick peck on the lips. He looked…worried? "Love you."

"Bye," I said to his retreating back.

Review, please! And Happy New Year.
