A/N-I was thinking about doing this story with my awesome online friend HeadlessLucy so tell me what you think. If you llike it I'll continue the story. I'm really curious about what's gonna happen in the Book of Eibon so I decided to write it. I won't update often but I will update!!!
The Lost Ark
Prologue: Entering the Lion's Den
I looked on as Maka talked to the Index. Their small talk was almost laughable at this point. We come all this way into a freakin' book and here she was having a conversation about it's Index about what books she liked. Typical Maka.
I was almost grateful when Black Star but in, cutting their chat short. The Index didn't seem too happy about that, but it did seem to get back on track.
"This book," it started "is compiled of seven chapters. The one that you seek is already deep inside, and cannot be reached by simply skimming. People who go in do not come back. They succumb to the madness within the dark depths of this book, which is made to test the strengths of you weak humans. For all we know your symmetrical friend has already been enveloped by the insanity."
Every member of Spartoi shot down his all but subtle hints to turn back. We weren't returning without Kid, even if it cost us our lives. I knew I was willing to give mine, but if Maka pulled anything…
Nobody wavered in their decision. The Index examined each of our faces before sighing. Good. I was already tired of him, and the fact that he was as small as my shoe didn't help his case. The perfect size for stepping on…
"Well then, I suppose that it is time to do my job as the Index of the Book of Eibon.
Chains of foreign characters began to appear out of thin air. They all circled around the Index before shooting forward. There they all connected, creating one long file, which further joined to create one large circle. The characters continued to whirl around until some sort of void opened up within it.
The Index didn't hesitate to approach it, giving us a simple "Follow me" before entering the dark space.
Black Star, same as always, rushed right in with Tsubaki trailing behind him. The next to go were the Thomson sisters. Patti laughed even while entering the hole, when it was abruptly cut off. I swallowed…nothing to be scared of… Kirikou was busy trying to get Pot of Fire and Thunder into that death trap, while Ox Ford just walked on in. When all of the commotion ceased, there was just Maka and I left on this side.
"Guess that leaves us." She said jokingly. Maka threw me an encouraging smile before walking past me to the black hole.
I met her there and we entered together. I breathed an almost inaudible "Here we go" before being engulfed by the darkness of the book.
