Okay, I really have no idea where this came from... I think it was probably listening to the song mentioned in the story – you'll see.
Disclaimer: Not mine. Sorry, can't be bothered to think up something long and crazy right now.
He had never thought that he would lose her, especially like this.
They had been married and madly in love for longer than most humans would live, and he had never expected them to be separated in this way.
He had tried to save her! He had fought with his whole being, but he just couldn't do it any more.
Really, he had known from when they first saw the attackers, they had no chance. They had been caught off guard and the two of them against the four obviously trained fighters was clearly an unfair fight.
Now he wanted to die himself, and he knew just what he had to do.
It was exactly the same plan as he had used 97 years ago almost to the day.
This time, there was no way that her death wasn't real. She wasn't here to stop him this time, and it was the only way.
He had to die with her.
As they ripped him apart, his last thought was a line from a song that he didn't even like much but he had somewhere in his vast music collection – how wrong we were to think that immortality meant never dying.
That's a line from 'Our Lady Of Sorrows' by My Chemical Romance. I don't own that either, although it is one of my favourite songs.
This isn't meant to be a bashing fic at anyone, it was just a random plot bunny that I had to write. Sorry if it's too depressing, it was hard to write!
Any feedback is appreciated.
