Percy's POV
I watched the fight between Gaea and my father from beside Annabeth. She was still conscious but I doubted she would be any longer. I tugged desperately at the earth tendrils but no luck. They were bound firmly together.
"Percy." I brought my attention to Annabeth whose eyes were already closing.
"Annabeth, Annabeth don't give up. Please," I choked out as I squeezed her hand.
"Please." It had no effect. She was fading.
"Percy, win the fight for me," she murmured before her hand went limp.
"No!" I shook her, "Annabeth! Annabeth!" It was no use. She was out cold.
Win the fight for me, her words echoed in my mind. I clenched my teeth and rubbed my arm viciously against my eyes wiping away all my tears.
"I'll try." I turned back to the battle at hand.
"Get away from him you witch!" I shouted as I saw Gaea approached my already fallen father. I saw my father shoot me a look saying, run, before he was blocked from me by Mother Earth. I charged pulling out and uncapping Riptide as I did so. Gaea watched me with taunting, open eyes.
"Son of Poseidon, do you honestly think that you can do better than your pathetic father over here?" I saw red and without thinking made a deadly sharp icicle and aimed it at her. Unfortunately, it was a few millimeters off and it impaled itself into the wall behind her. She snarled, malice evident in her eyes.
"If that is how you like it." She faced Poseidon for a brief seconds and Earth tendrils burst from the ground encasing my father. Then, she turned around to face me. She smirked victoriously as she watched me close the distance between us.
Poseidon's POV
I struggled to stay conscious as the earth ripped me of my energy. I had to stay awake to watch Percy's fight. I may be able to help somehow. I struggled against the Earth in futile. If only I could escape this wretched Earth. It was no use. The harder I struggled, the faster it rid me of my energy. Finally, my head dropped onto the floor with a thud, exhausted by all means. The last thing I saw before I slipped into unconsciousness was Anaklusmos being brought down on Gaea.
