Independence

England fell to his knees and looked up at America with pleading eyes, "Please come back with me, America. You aren't ready for your own land yet."

"Can you not see what I have accomplished here?" America swept his hand across the great land of the Free and the Brave, "I have a fine home here in this land. I have grown up, England. I am not the little boy you and France fought over all those years ago."

"It matters not! If I do not have you another will come to take you over then where will you be?" Cried England.

"Hero's never loose, my dear England." America looked sadly at England, "You should know that, you taught me that yourself."

"If you will not come with, I-I'll shoot you!" England aimed his gun at America.

America took England's gun and set down his gun and England's side by side. He then knelt by England and placed his hand caressingly on his face. England looked into America's eyes and he rested his forehead on America's chest. America placed his hand under England's chin and lifted his head.

"No more fighting now." America offered his hand to the frightened England.

England stood and brushed the dirt off his pants. He looked at America, "No more fighting, then."

"We'll be great friends." American smiled at England.
