AN: Hey guys! I am pretty pleased with this chapter, even though it's a double date with Max and Payson, I still included a lot of Kayaus goodness! Enjoy!
The double date was all planned, 7:30 at Ginos, a cute little Italian restaurant. Kaylie had a perfect little l pink dress picked out for the evening. She had just finished blow drying her hair after her shower, when she got a call...
It was Payson...
"Kaylie! Hey, I'm sort of, kind of, freaking out! I have no idea what to wear... This is technically my first date ever!" Parson said out a breath into the phone
"Woah, Woah, relax Payson. Come over and I'll help you!" Kaylie said trying to calm her best friend down
"Well, actually I'm already here..." Payson confessed
"Oh, well then come in" Kaylie said laughing
Kaylie went through all of Payson choices, she choose a light blue dress, that was t-shirt like at the top. She then helped Payson do her hair, putting it in a messy like bun, like she wore to the party in California. Kaylie did her own hair classic down and curly.
It was 7:00 and the boys should be there any minute, then the doorbell rang, Kaylie went to get it and like fate Austin was the one who answered.
"Mr. Tucker" Kaylie said brightly motioning him to come in
"Miss Cruz" he said stepping inside, not taking his eyes away from Kaylie's
Austin put his arms around Kaylie's waist, and she put her arms around his neck. Their lips met.
The door then slammed on the person behind Austin.
"Ow!" Max screamed, "Please tell me you guys aren't going to be like this all night!" he said while rubbing his eye and pushing open the door all the way.
Kaylie and Austin pulled apart. Kaylie, having an expression of worry and Austin looking amused.
Just then Max stop rubbing his eye and made eye contact with Payson, he had a dumfound smile.
"Payson, you look wow, good, no great, actually beautiful." he said as he walked toward a giggling Payson.
"You don't look too bad either"
They both awkwardly laughed between each other and looked down at their feet.
Kaylie looked at Austin with puppy eyes, "You didn't tell me how good I looked tonight!" she complained
"Psshh," he said leaning into Kaylie, "too good for words, let me show you" with that he gave Kaylie a kiss. "But for the record you are beautiful."
Kaylie couldn't help but blush.
The two turned their attention back to Max and Payson.
"Hey Spencer, are you just going to stand there? Or are you going to hug the girl?" Austin said poking fun at Max's expense
"Oh, right" Max went closer to Payson and went in for a hug, Payson did the same. It was the most awkward hug of their life.
"Kaylie want me to awkwardly hug you too?" Austin whispered into Kaylie's ear
"Shut up Austin!" Kaylie said playfully hitting him
Austin then spoke up, "Well we better get going if we don't wanna be late. Kaylie come in my car, and Payson you go with Max."
Austin put his arm around Kaylie and led the way, Max and Payson followed behind. Max wasn't sure if he should put his arm around Payson just yet, so he held her hand. A smile instantly grew on both their faces.
They arrived at the restaurant at 7:30, and Austin gave his name because he had made the reservations. The waitress came and led the four to their booth. Austin and Kaylie sat on one side, and Max and Payson on the other.
"This place is seriously so cute! I love it." Kaylie said taking in the twinkling lights of the restaurant.
"I knew you would like it." Austin said as he faced her and gave her a peck
On the opposite side, Max and Payson watched awkwardly at the couple in their embrace.
The waitress broke the tension to come take their drink orders. After everyone ordered, the waitress made awkward eye with Kaylie.
"Excuse me, but if you don't mind me asking, are you Kaylie Cruz?" The waitress asked
Kaylie smiled, "Oh no it's fine, and yes I am."
"Omg, I'm totally obsessed with the floor routine you did at Worlds. Also my little brother is like in love with you!" the waitress said excitedly
"Aw really? Thank you and your brother seems really sweet."
"Oh he is! Well I'll go get those drinks for you." the waitress said smiling
"Wow, someone recognized you and not Mr. Cobalt for once." Max said
Austin chuckled, "She probably just didn't get a good look at my face."
Kaylie looked at Austin, "Yeah, that's it" Kaylie said with sarcasm.
Austin looked down almost blushing, then he turned to Kaylie, "You know what? Her little brother isn't the only one who has a crush on you." he said leaning in close to Kaylie so their foreheads were touching.
Kaylie smiled, about to speak when Austin lips stopped her. They started to kiss deeply.
Max and Payson watched in discomfort, Payson began to speak, "So, um..." but she was soon cut off by Max.
"Payson, I'm just going to do what we both want to happen here, okay?" with that Max leaned into Payson and gave her a long kiss.
They pulled apart, "Took you long enough!" Payson said smiling so hard her face hurt.
Kaylie pulled away from Austin's lips, "Aww, yay!" She said as she clapped for her friends.
Austin watched Kaylie and just smiled; he couldn't help but think how great she is. She is the most caring person he has ever met, he loves her, he absolutely loves her!
The date went on, with more Kaylie and Austin embrace which inspired Max and Payson embrace. The food was delicious, and eventually it was time to leave Ginos. Kaylie went with Austin, and of course Payson went with Max.
Max driving Payson home...
"I had a lot of fun tonight, and we didn't even find an adorable stray!" Payson said
Max laughed, "Yeah, as much as I love dogs, I'm glad we had a special night dog free."
Max pulled up to Payson's house, he got out of his car and then opened her door.
"Right this way" Max said trying to be all polite
"Why thank you Max" Payson said getting out of the car.
They walked up to the door, and Max knew it was time to make his move.
"Payson, I hope you had a good time because you being with me made tonight one of the best nights of my life. I love you." Max said
"I love you too!" Payson said
The two move into each other and they shared a kiss goodnight. It was a perfect night, and next time Payson won't need Kaylie and Austin to be there.
Austin driving Kaylie home...
"Do you have time before you have to get home?" Austin asked as he pulled on to the street that led to Kaylie's house.
"I still have some time." Kaylie said as she checked the time on her phone
Austin pulled over his car.
"Austin..." Kaylie began
"Don't worry, I'm not pulling over so we can make out, I have something else in mind." Austin said making sure Kaylie understood his motives
"Well I'm okay with the other thing actually," Kaylie said giving Austin a flirtatious smile, "But what'd you have in mind?"
"Miss Cruz! Someone's gone bad ass," Austin said laughing, "I kind of like you're idea better."
"Nope, sorry now spill!" Kaylie said shaking Austin's arm to get him to talk.
Austin opened the sun roof of his car and then put his seat back, "Put yours back" Austin said directing Kaylie
The two leaned back in their chairs, and looked up a sky through the sun roof.
"Wow, all the stars are really beautiful." Kaylie said as she cuddled up to Austin
"You're beautiful" Austin said sitting up straight. Kaylie did the same. "Kaylie, remember when I said I could fall in love with you? Well I have been for some time now. I love you. I love how you laugh, I love how you want everyone to be happy no matter what they've done to you, I love how you're not afraid to call me out... And honestly I really love you in your leotards." Austin said this wearing his signature smirk, and he meant every word he said. He had never felt this way before! It was scary and new, but that's the kind of thing he lived for.
Kaylie sat at lost for words, smiling uncontrollably, looking down at her lap then back at Austin, then she would look at her lap again because she was embarrassed.
She finally got a hold of her emotions, " Austin Tucker, Mr. Cobalt, and Mr. Ass," Kaylie began taking his hands into hers, "I love you too. I love how you care and believe in me, I love how feel you need to help everyone, I love how you make me blush and to be honest, I love how you look in your Mr. Cobalt poster wearing y{our gold medal."
Austin and Kaylie looked into each other's eyes with such a connection, and then they kissed each other. When they pulled apart their foreheads touched and they laughed in each other's faces.
They realized it was getting late and Kaylie would need to get hone soon. Austin pulled up to the Cruz Mansion, and walked her to the door. They shared a quick good night kiss.
Austin went back to his car, and sat for a minute. He truly did love her, and then he remembered the Max thing. He had to tell her. He's just need to tell Max. If a girl kissed Kaylie, he'd want to know. Relationships need to be based on trust right? Hopefully everything would work out.
