PLEASE REVIEW AS A BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR PERCY!
Annabeth POV:
Percy and I were putting away plates in the kitchen and the now two year old Luke was sitting at his high chair.
It sounded like the seven year olds, Hali and Sophia were having an argument upstairs in their room.
"Doesn't sound like a party up there, does it buddy?" Percy asked Luke.
"Nope!" Luke giggled.
"Sounds more like a fight doesn't it?" I asked him.
Luke's eyes got wide. "I hope dey doesn't have swords!" He exclaimed.
"Oh, of course they don't ha-" I said until I was cut off by a the loudest scream I had ever heard in my entire life.
Percy shot me one glance and ran up the stairs. I picked up Luke out of his high chair, and followed Percy.
"Oh, gods! Are you alright?" I heard Percy yell.
"What is it?" I screamed as I ran into the girls room. Hali and Sophia were both sobbing uncontrollably, their hands covered in blood.
I noticed that one of Hali's ear and one of Sophia's ear's were bleeding; not from inside their ear, it looked more like it was coming from where their earrings should be.
Percy turned around and covered his eyes. "I've seen 3 kids been born, I've watched people die, I've been licked by a hellhound, I've seen you been stabbed, but I have never seen two people rip out each others earrings. Annabeth, I'm sorry but I cannot look at that." He said, appearing very shaken up.
"You ripped out each others earrings?" I asked, horrified.
"Wiff a sword?" Luke asked Percy seeming very frightened by that idea.
"No, of course not, Luke." He said, as he picked up Luke and ran outside to the hallway.
I asked Hali and Sophia to explain what had happened, but they were wailing too loudly for me to understand most of what they said. The only thing I really understood was that they had gotten into an argument, and both thought the solution would be to rip the others earrings out.
"Okay, Percy," I called out into the hall. "Take Luke and go get the car started. Get some ambrosia and nectar. We're taking Hali and Sophia to the ER."
Percy did as I said, and I carried Hali and Sophia down the stairs and rode with them in the back of the car as Percy sped to the hospital.
I fed the girls a little bit of ambrosia and nectar, which seemed to make them calm down enough to stop crying.
We arrived at the hospital and Percy carried the girls into the ER. I followed behind them with Luke in my arms.
"Mommy, are my sissy's gonna be okay?" He asked, as we waited in the waiting room while Percy got the girls looked at.
"Of course they are sweetie. The doctors will make them feel better." I told him.
Luke watched Spongebob for about an hour, until Percy came out.
"The doctors were about to fix the girls' ear's when they did a full physical and noticed that both of their appendixes were inflamed, they have appendicitis." He breathed. "They're going to need to get it taken out."
-linebreak—
Percy, Luke and I were waiting in Hali and Sophia's hospital room for them to wake up from their surgery.
Hali looked like she was waking up, and then her eyes flittered open.
"Mommy, Daddy?" She said very softly.
"Yes, sweetheart, we're right here." Percy said, stroking her hair.
Hali stared at Percy. "If you had four eyes, you'd be very ugly." She told Percy.
Percy did his very best to keep a straight face. "Yep. That's right." He said.
Sophia started waking up also. She sat up in her bed, looked at Hali, and her eyes widened.
"Who is that person and why does she look like me." She said in one mouthful.
"That's sissy." Luke said, trying to be helpful.
"I have never seen her before in my life." She said.
"Yes you have, that's your sister." Percy told her.
"Hey Sophia." Hali said.
"Oh, hey Hali." Sophia said.
I looked at Percy and couldn't help but laugh.
Hali lifted the arm that had a IV in it. "Why is there a sword in my arm?"
"Hali, it's not a sword." Sophia told her. "It's a pair of Apollo's head phones that somebody put in your arm."
Then they both got very quiet. Suddenly Sophia started laughing very hard. "You're so silly!" She said pointing Hali
Hali just giggled. "So are giraffes." She said.
"Did you have any good dreams?" Sophia asked her.
Hali got a big smile on her face. "Yes! Mine was testicular!" she said, very loudly I might add.
"Wait, what?" Percy asked, his eyes getting wide.
"I think she meant spectacular." Sophia giggled.
"When's your birthday?" Hali asked, pointing to Percy, changing the subject in a millisecond.
"August 18th. When's yours?" He asked.
"Um…I don't remember, maybe Soph knows." She said, yawning.
"Alright. Sophia, when's your birthday." I asked her.
"Uh…January…6th?" she asked not sounding sure.
"Hey, that's my birthday! You can't steal it!" Hali said, starting to cry.
"Hali," I started, but I couldn't help but laugh. "Sophia is your twin. You were born at the same time, so you have the same birthday."
Hali's crying stopped. "Where's Luke's twin?" She asked, pointing to her two year old brother.
"He doesn't have one." Percy said. "Babies don't usually come in two's." he told her.
"Why not?" Sophia asked.
"Just…because." I said.
"Well, what's Luke's birthday then?" Sophia asked.
"Ooh! I know! October 19th!" Hali said.
"How is it that she remembers her brothers birthday, but not her own?" I asked Percy.
"Priorities." He laughed.
"When's Mommy's birthday?" Hali asked.
"November 18th." Percy said, before I had the chance to say anything, which made me smile.
"Wait, does that mean daddy is older than you?" Sophia asked, as if she was outraged or something.
"Just a little bit. We were in the same grade though, growing up." I laughed.
"You went to school together?" Hali asked.
"Well, we went to camp together. That's where we met." Percy said.
"How old were you then?" Sophia asked. Apparently our story was becoming very interesting to the two of them.
"Twelve." We both said, smiling at each other.
"And how old are you now?" They both asked.
"Twenty-nine." Percy said. "Both of us."
"You have been married since you were twelve?" Hali shrieked.
"What? Of course not!" I laughed. "We were best friends then!"
"You married your best friend?" Sophia asked Percy.
"Sure did." Percy said, giving me a kiss.
"Wait, hold on sec." Hali, said, her eyes signalling that she was freaking out. "Sophia is my best friend. I have to marry her?"
"No, no, no. Sophia is your sister, you can't marry her." Percy and I both laughed.
"Oh, phew." Hali said. "I wanted to marry Prince Eric from the little mermaid."
"Hey, wait a second." Sophia said. "Why did you get married if you were best friends?" she asked.
"Because we loved each other, silly goose." I said.
"But don't you have to be boyfriend and girlfriend?" Hali asked.
"We were boyfriend and girlfriend, silly." Percy told her.
"Wait, when?" She asked.
"August 18th, on Daddy's 16th birthday," I said.
"By the Long Island sound at camp." Percy said finishing my sentence.
"With the blue brick cupcake," I said smiling,
"And being dumped into the lake along with the canoes by Clarisse." He said, a big grin on his face.
"And then having the last laugh." I said, smiling.
"That sound cupcake sounds really nasty." Hali said.
Percy and I just started laughing. Leave it to Hali.
Then we heard sniffling by the door. There was at least six nurses by the door.
"H-how r-romantic." One said, half crying.
"It was." I said, giving Percy a kiss.
