OMG, Fifth chapter! This is where the drama and plot really take off. Thanks soo much to Whisper13 who has reviewed twice, totally made my flippin day! HAHA! Ok, today we get some flashes of our favorite bad guys, The Erasers! Well, ok maybe not favorite, but Erasers none the less. And some more Libra conflict. sooo yeah, onto the show!
Fang POV
Max looked stunned by Libra's quick leave. She stared at where the smaller girl had just disappeared.
"Where's she going, Angel?" Nudge whispered, short sentences, how un-Nudge like.
Everyone was silent as Angel sifted though Libra's mind. She gasped.
"She's going... home." Angel whispered.
Only Fang knew what that meant. The entire room was still tense.
"So... she's coming back, right? By home, she means here, right? Iggy asked, his voice a bit shakey.
"No," Fang spoke simply.
"What?" Iggy roared.
"She's going to Iowa." Angel said, before Fang could answer, she must be in Libra's head again.
"What? Why?" Iggy bellowed.
"Please, don't follow me." Angel said in a new odd voice, causing the flock to stare in disbelief," This is my decision. I don't want you hurt for me. Thank you for befriending me, it's a first since my... accident. Goodbye, my friends."
When Angel finished she shook her head violently. She explained that Libra spoke through her. Max shook her head and Fang clenched his fists.
"Well, she said not to go after her, so we won't." Max said, crossing her arms, ready to argue.
"Bullcrap."Fang muttered.
He stood and crossed the room to the balcony. He sighed, afraid Libra had made the wrong decision. He decided to go after her, it was the least he could do.
"Fang, stay here. She asked for us to not come. We shouldn't ignore that," Angel said, as Fang packed," I know you like her, but she can take care of herself."
"Bull." Fang muttered.
"Hey, if Fang's going to Libra, then I'm going too." Iggy said, standing.
"No, Ig." Max snapped," I need you here. Fang'll bring her back."
Fang was glad Max at least agreed. He nodded to her, thanking her silently. He walked back to the balcony. Angel, he thought at her and she turned to him, I'll be in touch. Don't worry. Tell them all I'll be fine and I'll bring her back... I promise. Angel nodded and he heard her reply, Okay, Fang. Love you, we all do.
Fang nodded and then leapt from the balcony, snapping out his wings. He flew, hoping it wasn't the last time he ever saw the flock. Then he turned all his attention to searching the skies for Libra.
Libra POV
Unfortunately, I didn't know that talking through Angel would drain so much of my energy. I almost fell from the sky with exhaustion. It was a struggle to control the winds, they were fighting my orders. This flying all the way to Iowa thing might prove difficult. I knew I had to rest, I scanned the ground for a good place to land. I spotted a pond, surrounded by boulders and sand. Perfect! I angled the winds and dove down, aiming for the pond.
I splashed hard into the pond, drenching my borrowed clothes. Yet, I loved the feel of the water, more so than the air. I could breathe underwater now. I swam to the surface and crawled on the beach. To find myself staring at two very hairy feet. I looked up and saw the thing I really didn't need, Erasers!
"Hello, Libby." the nearest Eraser laughed.
"Hello, wolf boy. Did you enjoy the Grand Canyon?" I knew this was no place for sarcasm, but I couldn't help it.
"Shut it!" the Eraser slapped me.
"Well, aren't you abusive?" I groaned, wiping dirt from my face.
This time before the Eraser could attack me again, I splashed some water in his fang filled face. This gave me enough time to flip over him and give myself more room to put up a fight. The Eraser turned and shot me the death glare, he seemed pretty pissed off now. He stormed toward me, all two hundred pounds of wolf meat. I stood, raising my fists ready to fight.
Two or three Eraser joined the first, all stared me down hungrily. The first Eraser swiped at me and I ducked, kneeing him in the gut. He doubled over and I pushed him to the ground. I stepped on his chest and pushed off, aiming a kick at the other Eraser. It swore and held it's broken snout. Just as I was about to deliver the death blow the third Eraser grabbed my wrists, yanking my arms behind my back. It hurt extremely, but I bit my lip to keep from crying out. The Eraser laughed it's barking laugh, and sniffed my exposed neck. He had ahold of my hair, pulling my head back. I knew in seconds I would be dead, for the Eraser would bite my neck. I would bleed out my life.
I closed my eyes, awaiting my deaths. I silently said my goodbyes to the Flock and my old human friends, who I had failed to save, but death never came. Suddenly, the Eraser's grip on my wrists released. I spun, ready to fight like hell, and found the Eraser out cold on the sand.
"You're so slow. He'd have killed you." a very familiar voice laughed behind me. I spun again to see a certain dark haired bird kid hovering over me. He wore a half smile on his face, his dark eyes dancing from the fight.
"Fang! I told you not to follow me!" I growled, though I was really relieved to see him.
"Do you really think I'd listen, you did tell me you can't steer. Do you want to crash into a building?" Fang chuckled.
He landed a few feet away, folding and tucking his wings. He smiled and imitated me with his hands on his hips and head cocked to one side.
"Oh, Fang. I'm glad it's you!" I yelled, flinging my arms around him.
He stiffened for a second, but then wrapped his arms around me. I couldn't help but sob into his shirt. I was worried for my friends. "Shh, shh. C'mon, Libra." he whispered, patting my hair," Let's drown the wolves, then you can tell me your plan." I pulled away from Fang, and I blushed violently. This is the fourth flippin time I had royally screwed up in front of him. He and I pulled the heavy Erasers into the pond, letting them sink to the bottom. Then, we both collapsed on the beach.
Ok, sorry for the short chapter. Get's better soon. Please review tell me what you think! It'd make my day! :)
