OMG, I'm soo sorry for my outburst. I didn't mean it, I really hope you guys didn't give up on me because of it. But, I guess if you did then you'd never read this so you'd never know and that would suck. Oh Gods, I'm as bad as Nudge. Ok, shut up Athena, before you say something stupid like last time. I want to thank Whisper for the OC I asked for and gasping4breath for adding me to Story Alert! Big round of applause for them! *clapping, and lots of it* Kk, finally the School. I promise this time. Sorry, if this seems rushed, it kinda was... Onto the story!
Libra POV
I awoke the next morning, totally ready to kick some scientist butt to break my friends out. The boys were on board too. Iggy had a huge grin on his face: the plan was as we flew over the School, Iggy would drop his bomb causing mass chaos. Leaving my friends unguarded as the whitecoats went to stop the explosion. The School was in view, I glanced at Fang and he nodded. I asked Iggy if he was ready and he nodded.
"Let's bomb this place!" I yelled, flying lower.
Iggy dropped his bomb in the west wing, and we crashed through a window in the right wing as the bomb went off. Soon, the entire building was empty, well almost.
"Stay close, follow me." I called racing through the halls and rooms.
I followed the route I'd seen in my head during my brain attack. I hoped it was right, and not a trap. If it was a trap, then I was leading my only friends to their deaths. Fang asked if I knew where I was going and I ignored that comment at the time. I'd answer how I knew the route later, or so I hoped. I turned one final corner and then I was at the door. I was about to wonder if it was locked when Fang stepped up beside me and kicked the door. It flew back on it's hinges and Fang gave me a smug half smile. I rolled my eyes and turned back to the room. It was filled with dog crates.
"Split up, find them. Iggy go with Fang." I ordered," Set any mutants free. No one deserves to be in cages."
The boys nodded and we tore away from each other. I ran along the aisles pulling locks apart and letting kids, animals, and expiraments free. I called my friends' name, I could hear Fang's voice a few aisles over doing the same thing. I called Beth's name at one point and, believe it or not, I got an answer.
"Val! Over here! Val!"
I followed her voice to find her and Matt sharing a large crate. I was relieved to see them, but someone was missing. A certain someone that I'd been thinking about.
"Beth, Matt." I gasped, reaching through the bars to touch Beth's hand, "Where's Laron?"
Beth hung her head, absentmindedly twirling her dark curly hair; Matt looked at his feet, then he spoke:
"They just moved him to the west wing, like, a couple of minutes ago." Matt whispered.
My heart stopped and I felt my face get pale. I tried to shrug off the feeling. I called the boys over to me, they landed beside me a few seconds later. Fang saw Beth and Matt and understood instantly. I noticed that their cage didn't have a door, figures. Fang pulled on the bars of the crate, but they didn't budge. Then, I got a brilliant idea. Together, Fang, Iggy, and I lifted up an empty small crate and rammed it into the crate's bars, causing them to cave in. Matt and Beth climbed out of the gaping hole, a little shaky. I gave each a huge hug, then turned to Fang and Iggy, who were standing by rather ackwardly.
"You guys take Beth and Matt, get out of here. I have to find Laron. He was in the west wing, and I didn't know."
"Not by yourself." Fang growled.
"I have to," I argued, "Iggy can't take them by himself. I have to go, Fang."
He scowled, but nodded. Then he gave me a swift good-bye kiss.
"What? That's it? I might not come back and that's all I get?" I smirked, knowing I'd make Fang smile too.
"Then, come back to me. It'll be better." he gave me a crooked smile before pulling Iggy away with my friends in tow.
I prayed it wouldn't be the last time I saw any of them. I turned and raced back through the halls, the crates, past room after room. I hoped he hadn't been killed in the bomb. I stopped suddenly, presented by a fork in the halls. Damn, I thought, which way?
"Ah, Libra. I knew I'd see you. I trust the others got away." an, oh so, familiar voice said.
I spun and saw Jeb, who was followed by a burly Eraser. The Eraser held Laron at gunpoint. It burned my heart to see the fear in his green eyes, just as it had when I saw Beth and Matt locked in a cage. I had to think fast, how to get Laron without harming myself or him? Hoping my thought process was hidden from my face, I let my mind soar through possibilities. And then it hit me, I knew what I had to do, and I didn't like it.
"Jeb, let him go. Please, I'll stay here." I pleaded, holding my hands up," Just let Laron go."
"Val, no!" Laron yelled.
"Little girlie, give uo too easy." the Eraser sneered.
"Ari! Quiet!" Jeb bellowed, turning slightly to face the Eraser.
This momentary distraction gave me enough time to kick at Jeb, knocking him off balance and to the floor. I ripped the gun from the Eraser's paw and pointed it at Jeb. Truthfully, I have never ever handled a gun. Like, ever. The Eraser tossed Laron to the floor, knocking him out. Laron just crumpled to the ground. I reaimed the gun at the Eraser, who snarled.
"Don't ever insult me or my friends." I snarled in return, startling myself at the venom in my voice.
The Eraser bent to Jeb's side. It glared at me, but suddenly its gaze softened.
"Just go, take the kid. We don't deserve to be caged up." it said, still glaring.
I kept the gun trained on the Eraser and collected Laron. At the last second, I ditched the gun and carried Laron as I flew to the window we'd broke earlier. It all seemed too easy. I figured I'd be hearing from the Erasers and whitecoats soon.
Fang POV (This is while Libra is still gone)
Fang helped the humans to get settled before starting his own silent panic. He was worried about Libra, she shouldn't have gone alone. They all should have helped, she could die. She could be recaptured and leave Fang and Iggy to get the humans home. If Libra died then, well, Fang wouldn't exactly know what to do. He hated to admit that but it sure as hell was true.
"I'm going for a fly." Fang said quickly to Iggy.
He quickly shot off, and swooped around in the sky. Hoping that flying would loosen the worry.
Libra POV
I searched the ground for Iggy, Fang and the others. I didn't see all of them, but I did spot a certain black winged boy flying in circles.
"Fang!" I called, just feeling the strain of carrying someone.
Fang turned and his face lit up when he saw me. He flew over and helped me land with Laron. It was a clearing with a few trees. Iggy, Beth and Matt were waiting. Beth and Matt gave me a hug upon arrival and then they took over watching Laron, who was still unconcious. Iggy greeted me happily, then it was just Fang and I.
We hovered over to a tree and sat among the leaves. He sat with his back to the trunk and I sat in front of him. He grinned at me and then he was kissing me. I loved it completely. It was as if the entire world had disappeared. There was only Fang and I.
Fang chuckled as he pulled away. "Was that good enough?"
"Good enough, and so much more" I breathed, snuggling against his chest. He leaned his head against the tree trunk. We must've fallen asleep that way.
Okkkayyy, sooo sorry for the short update. I just had to update but I have efffin writer's block. So, I'll try to update soon. Review as always!
