Hello, everyone! sorry I haven't updated b/c of Florida which is amazing btw. If any of you guys live there I totally envy you! I went to Ocala, "Horse Capital of the World", and let me tell you this: it was just that. I adore horses so I was in total heaven. The trip was great fun, except for my severe case of FWS (Fanfiction Withdrawl Syndrome). I got rather annoying apparently. Okay, anyway, I'm back! Sorry, to leave you guys hanging sooo long so here's the much awaited chapter. Quickie recap:
Fang POV
He saw them before she did. They were regular Erasers but they had wings. They weren't very good at flying though. He saw a few momentarily drop, forgetting to flap.
"Let's get 'em, boys!" Libra called.
Fang flew straight at the oncoming Erasers. One snarled at him, and Fang took it on full blast. He stormed the mutant and aimed punches and kicks only to get his own bruises and cuts. He had just dropped his Eraser from the sky when he heard a scream. A familiar scream. He spun, just in time to see Libra fall, suddenly unable to fly.
Fang POV
"Shit!" he yelled, "Libra!"
He dove, following her body as it plummeted toward the Earth. He angled his wings, falling ten times faster than usual. When he neared her, he reached out his hand. He leaned, and grasped her arm, just as his body tipped forward and his wings became useless. He now freefell, clutching Libra to him. Fang twisted as he fell, tucking away his wings and putting his body between Libra and the ground. He felt her faint heartbeat against his chest, he hoped to God that she'd survive.
That's when they hit the ground, it hurt like hell. They hit hard, dislodging Libra from his grasp. He felt his own eyes flutter shut, but he forced them open wide again. He struggled into a sitting position. A few feet away Libra's body sat crumpled. Fang stumbled to her, still disoriented by the hard fall. Libra's eyelids hid her silver eyes. Her breathing was shallow and sparse. Her heartbeat faltering every few beats. Fang put his hand on her side, right where her t-shirt was changing colors. It was covered in blood, she had been slashed and was bleeding her life away. She was... dying.
"Dammit!" Fang yelled, "C'mon Libra. Hang on, come back. Please!"
Iggy landed beside him and immediately began to brush his sensitive fingers over Libra's fragile skin. He said aloud every time he felt a bruise or cut. Then his unseeing eyes got wide when his fingers found the big cut on her skin.
"Oh, shit." he muttered.
"C'mon,we have to get out of here." Fang said hastily, he picked up Libra's head, making to pick up her legs too.
"No, we can't move her. It'll make it worse." Iggy growled, lowering her back to the ground.
Fang sighed, staring at Libra's face. Then, he got an idea, Libra had taken her cell phone from the house. They could call for help. After a quick emergency call, Fang returned to Iggy, who was looking quite confused. Fang didn't give him an answer, just tossed him Libra's pack.
"Here, carry." he said.
"But, we can't move-"Iggy protested.
"Too bad, we're meeting a chopper at some gas station, Come and Go's or something like that."
Then without further ado, Fang gently lifted Libra into his arms. He clutched her to his chest, so he could feel her fragile heartbeat. He spread his dark wings, and felt Iggy do the same behind him. They both took to the skies, Fang just relieved to feel Libra's breaths against his shoulder.
Libra POV
I felt the pain, but it dulled almost instantly. I felt the strong arms that were wrapped around me, I felt that person's heartbeat next to my ear. I think, I could feel it, hear it, but not see it. My eyes were closed and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't open them.
"Hang on, Lib. Just stay with me, please." I heard Fang's voice whisper.
"Yo, man. Give it up, she can't hear you." I also heard Iggy yell. It was more distant than Fang.
But, I can. I hear you, Fang! I wanted to scream, but I couldn't find my voice.
Ugh, how did this happen? Oh, that's right... Erasers. Flying Erasers, ambushing us. Fang and Iggy had taken on their own wolves, when mine attacked. It was the one from the School, the one that followed Jeb. He'd let me go, what was he doing now?
"Just a job, darling." the Eraser rasped.
I got in a few punches, but they were weak from lack of sleep. I was slow, leaving holes in my defenses. It took the Erasers longer to figure this out, but when he did he took advantage of it. He pulled his paw across my waist, leaving three large gashes across my mid-section. It hurt like hell and I screamed. I totally forgot my power in the swarm of sudden pain. I dropped down, falling to the Earth.
I must've blacked out there, because I don't remember anything after that. Just cloudy pain and sudden voices, telling me to hold on, that they'd make it better. More voices than just Fang and Ig. It scared me, what was happening? Where was I? Black... no sound... no thoughts... no pain... just... floating... peacefully.
Okay, once again a cliff hanger. Granted, this is a bit more peaceful than stressing, but still... Sorry for shortness, I am catching up to myself and writer's block is still haunting me, so I'll try to update, but I may fail miserably. I may resort to posting one-shots just to keep my mind running on MR frequencies. Anyway, review as always. Oh, and anyone interested in my Gen77 story, I will update that soon, I'm almost done with the first chapter. Keep reading! Bye!
