Hello, I'm back! Sorry, I was busy with my family's garage sale and recovering from a brutal Mile Run. Joy. Speaking of which, you know you definetly obsess over MR when you are running the Mile and try to slow down and end up having a mental argument with either Fang or Max about giving up and speed. Yeah, I actually did that. Hehe, not something I'm exactly proud of but hey I am a MR fan so yeah. Anyway, I think there'll only be two or three more chapters to this story. So onto the story!

Libra POV

"Wake up, little Libby." a raspy voice taunted.

I wearly blinked then shot right awake. Ari, the Eraser, stood right outside my cage. I backed against the opposite wall, trying to get away from Ari. He was grinning evilly and I wanted to bust his face in and get the hell outta here.

"Oh, little Libby scared." Ari sneered, his face almost morphed.

I snarled and kicked at Ari through the bars. He just sneered and taunted some more.

"Oh, little Libra mad. Boo hoo, she might hurt me." he growled with mock fear.

"I'll rip your damn head off, maybe that'll hurt, Wolf-boy." I spoke with dark precision.

"Ooh, Libby can talk, threaten even. I'm so scared."

"Shut the eff up!" I shrieked, using the word.

"Language, Libby. Don't want Jeb to remove your voice chords, do you?" Ari goaded.

I snarled, not using words this time. Just a snarl, with narrowed eyes. My feet were bare yet again. I wore the usual tunic-smock-thing that all experiments wore. My hair was now long, at least to my back, grown out since my "supposed" recapture. I had long since given up on the hope of the avians being real, all I had now was the little five year old lizard mutant across the aisle.

"You and lizard-girl are needed for maze tests. Now." Ari snarled.

I growled and pressed back further against the cage back. I was not going anywhere. Not testing, not home, not anywhere.

"Fine, maybe a little..." Ari growled, pausing to pull Kimi from her crate. His paw clasped around her thin neck, lifting her feet off the ground, "incentive will help."

I snarled, seeing Kimi's green eyes filled with fear made my blood boil and my vision soak red.

"Let her down, Ari." I hissed.

"Come with me, without fighting." Ari replied coolly.

I fought the urge to roll my eyes. Did they really think that after almost two months, more or less, that I'd stop fighting? I may not have anything to live for, but I still wanted out of this hellhole.

"No." I spoke softly.

"What?" Ari probed.

"I said," I repeated softly, then I rose my volume, "NO!"

Ari stepped back, and roared in surprise. He dropped Kimi in the process. I got enough time to scream "Run!" at her before Ari started to shake my cage. He threw the cage around, knocking it on it's side. I rolled around inside and got all cut and bruised. I was about to give up when suddenly the cage stopped rattling and Ari slumped over. I was wary as I snuck to the edge of the crate. I poked the hairy Eraser's back and was shocked to see three sedative darts embedded there.

"Come on, take his keycard." a voice snapped.

I looked up, a split second hope to see a certain bird kid crushed, to see a female whitecoat. In her arms was a terrified looking Kimi, her stark white hair flopped in her face. The whitecoat was the same woman who had tried-and failed- to help me a while back. She stood impatiently as she watied for me to unlock my cage.

"I can't!" I yelled back, "The cage landed door side down. Turn off that weird gas stuff, so I can blast my way out."

The woman gave a sigh and set Kimi down. She left the room, closing the door behind her. Kimi immediately lit up white, shifting her skin color with her chameleon powers. She scurried over to my cage. She thrust her small fingers through the bars. I grabbed her hand, briefly squeezing it.

"I'm sorry, Lib." she whispered.

"Don't worry, Kimi. We'll get out of here, promise." I reassured.

"Libra, the lady, she wants to help us. Let us free, she says-" the girl hiccupped, tearing up now, "says that "you were slotted for termination" today. She's letting us out. She doesn't like what Jeb does to us. I believe her, Libra. Do you?"

I was shocked by how much the girl had said, and how old she sounded. I just merely nodded in reply. Kimi beamed and stepped back. Suddenly, I felt stronger, like a huge weight had lifted from my shoulders. Like I could do anything. I could finally think straight. My powers were back.

"Kimi, duck." I ordered, determined.

She obliged, hiding behind several empty crates. I put my palms out and focused hard on the bars of the crate. The earthen minerals buried deep down in them. I wanted those exact minerals to explode, break apart. CRASH! The bars smashed into the crate across the aisle. I had blown the entire side of the crate off. Kimi gave me a shocked grin as she came from her shelter. The female whitecoat stood in the doorway, a similiar appalled expression on her face. I sent a sarcastic sweet smile her was as Kimi and I went to her.

"Okay, Libra, and er- Kimi, you have to leave. I can get you to the outside, but from there you must fend for yourselves." she informed, then she spun and strode through the halls.

Long story short, and partly because I couldn't keep track of the turns, the lady led Kimi and I outside. I flew away quickly, carrying Kimi in my arms. She chattered for a while, reminding me faintly of Nudge, before a comfortable silence filled the windy air. Kimi had fallen asleep, her little pale head on my shoulder. I smiled thinking of how much she reminded me of Angel, Fang's little sister.

I landed somewhere in California, a big city, in a tree. Sort of. I slept in the tree, Kimi draped on the branch beside me. That night, a dream haunted me. It was a dimly lit room, similiar to the School. A body lay a few feet from me. No, I thought, can't be. No!

It was the body of a boy, dark hair fell in his face as I rolled the body over. It's hollow black eyes stared up, through me, but not seeing me. The boy was unsmiling, a look of almost... fear etched on his familiar face. A last expression that was unlike any I had ever seen on the boy's face in the flesh.

"Fang..." I felt myself whisper.

I was having another movie experience. It was like I was watching myself, not feeling the pain or loss. Not feeling the dark hair I kept stroking, hoping for the boy to move and say something. I couldn't tell myself to stop crying, couldn't scream that it was unfair. I couldn't tell myself that this wasn't real, that there was no bird kid to die. I wanted to, believe me, I wanted it to be over. All over.

I shrieked as I bolted upright, almost falling from the tree. My eyes shifted around, scared. The branch felt awfully flimsy. Someone was obviously missing, Kimi was gone. She must've left while I was asleep. Just another person who bailed on the freak. A familiar voice rang out in my head: "Freak? You're no freak. Not in my eyes or anyone's else." Fang, always there to stop my fears in their tracks. I wished he were here with me to stop my fears, to tell me it was alright, that I was free and he was real. For him to make it all make sense.

I did not feel like sleeping, or trying to anyway, so I flew low by the ground. I think I ended up in a park somewhere, in yet another tree. I hid among the leaves, because there was a lot of people in this park for some reason. I lay back against the trunk, trying desperately not to cry. I don't think I succeeded.

"Hey, kid." a voice jolted me back to reality.

I glanced down, a man had spotted me. He stood at the base of the tree. The man was tall, young and obviously not talkative. I poked my head out, showing I was listening.

"You might want to find somewhere else. There's a concert just over there, so the security will be worse than normal." the man replied, not asking why I was in the tree in the first place.

"'Worse than normal?'" I repeated.

"Ten guards patrolling every foot, this singer's a biggie. Lots o' trouble expected. I gotta go, my gal is waitin'. Take care of yourself, kid." the man nodded to me and started to leave.

"Uh," I called, "thanks, sir!"

The man turned, with a familiar- and painful- smirk, "No problem, kid. Drop the "sir" through, quite unnecessary."

I smiled faintly as I watched the guy disappear into the crowded park. So, note to self: Don't choose places that hold concerts. I stepped lightly to a new branch, closer to the ground, then flipped to the springy grass below. It felt good on my bare feet, just like the first day at the E house. My crash landing, before I got good. No, stop. I scolded myself, That wasn't real. Yes, it was... a new voice protested.

In my head, the two carried on their argument. I felt like screaming, but I settled for calling upon the winds to shoot me into the sky.

If you didn't get the part with the dude in the park it was like a shortened Libra version of what Fang saw in Lizzie, he reminded her of Fang. Only two more chapters! Will be up momentarily! Like really soon! -Athena
