Oh my gosh! I am sooooo sorry about how long this took. Y'all have no idea how bad I feel! It's just with school and everything I have some much on my plate! But now that the first quarter is done things should settle down a little and everything should be good!

I 6. The Curse Of Being A Teenage Girl *sigh*

I was having a perfectly lovely day, mostly of course because I had been allowed to leave the first Nome and go to the twenty-first.

…

Meaning I got the leave Egypt and go to Manhattan. As soon as the Chief Lector gave me permission I was running to my room and shifting through my closet to decide what to wear. This of course made me realize just how little variety I had in my clothes. (Hey! Don't look at me like that! I am a girl! And I do sometimes act like one!) Finally, realizing how silly I was being, I grabbed an outfit, pulled it on and rushed out of my room before I started acting like the teenage girl I was again. Walking through the halls I tried to act calm but I'm not sure how well that worked as I received a few odd glances but ignored them. I reached one of the portals that Per Ankh had and almost skidded into the Chief Lector.

"Zia," He smiled warmly, laying a hand on my shoulder to stead me. "I see you're eager to leave." His eyes sparkled and I knew I flushed.

"Of course, Chief Lector. I enjoy chances to go to the other Nomes and see what they are learning." I shifted nervously. It wasn't a lie per say…I just wasn't telling him everything.

He didn't look convinced as he smirked mischievous, "Of course it wouldn't have anything to do with my nephew."

I was probably redder then a tomato, "Of course not sir."

"Hmm…" He smiled warmly again, "Well then, continue on your way then."

"Thank you sir." I turned to leave.

"Zia?"

"Yes?"

"You can call me Amos if you want to."

I made a mental note at the offer, "Thank you Chie- Amos."

He chuckled and I turned to leave again.

"Zia!"

I swallowed an irritated sigh and turned to look at him again, "Yes?"

His eyes twinkled, "Carter really likes you. Just thought you might want to know."

With that he turned and left me sputtering in front of the portal and for a second, irritation flashed through me. A Chief Lector was supposed to be formal, and serious and impersonal. Then the thought flashed in my head and I wondered if change was really that bad. As I called up the portal and told my destination, I heard the sounds of the Chief Lector's deep voice echo across through the building followed by the light laughter of some of the younger initiates. Stepping into my portal, the last thing I heard was the low blues the Chief Lector playing his saxophone. I smiled, I had gotten my answer.

So? What do ya think? Zia, like Jaz, is hard to write considering the lack of her POV in the books but I hope y'all like! Also, I know she probably seems a tab OOC but I'm guessing she acts a little different inside of her head sooo….yeah….I'm just gonna stick with that! Please review and I hope to have the next chapter up before 11 o'clock tonight! And guess what! It's in Sadie's POV….well kinda…you'll see what I mean…..also its tiny….I mean TINY! Oh well, you'll see!
