With my university semester over, I decided to scrap my three other overly complicated fics in order to create a simpler and more unified story. Hoping to aim for a minimum of biweekly updates.
The DC Universe shown in this series is primarily inspired by the DCAU (Batman: TAS, Superman: TAS, Justice League: TAS) but with additions from other comics/movies/games.
The MHA Universe shown in this series stops following canon continuity around the second half of Season 3.
Characters from both universes may receive tweaks or changes to their powers to make for a more streamlined and interesting story.

Heroes Heed The Call
Midoriya steps into the laundry room. The sound of the countless washer and dryers humming behind the wall greeted him. He walks over to the depot as the staff member finds his tray. Sliding it through the opening he takes the tray, his costume laid atop it freshly cleaned and neatly folded. Midoriya picked it up and examined it, smirking to himself thinking of just how many suits he's gone through. He carefully placed it in his bag, knowing that he was ready for training simulations in a few minutes. With a sense of relief, he left the laundry room, excited to keep honing his skills.
As Midoriya made his way toward the battle simulator, his eyes were drawn to the calm of the sky above. The bright blue backdrop was adorned with wispy clouds that seemed to float by effortlessly. The sun shone down, casting a warm glow on everything in its path. Seeing the sky so vast the weight of his world sunk in.
"All of this in just one year..." Midoriya slowly mutters under his breath, his words have hints of both pride yet burden. While he knows he's improved at an unfathomable rate, the rate at which his world is growing concerns him about his place in all this. All Might's harrowing words "Next, it's your turn" have yet to leave Midoriya's mind since that day. Approaching the battle simulator's entrance he can see some of his other classmates there early like him. Momo, Uraraka, and Todoroki greet him at the front door as they all head inside.
Heading to the locker room he places his bag on the ground. Stepping into his costume, pulling it up, and fastening it securely. His excitement flows as he wonders how much better all his friends will do since the first battle trial. All suited up he bounces on his toes, stretching his muscles and cracking his knuckles in anticipation. Before he can make his way out an ever-so-subtle tingle crawls down his head giving him the strong urge to turn around. However, as he looks behind him he sees nothing, only hearing a slight static and buzz. Thinking nothing of it he heads out to the briefing room where everyone gathers around.
The clock strikes 12 o'clock, and all the students wait patiently as Aizawa walks toward the front of the crowd. Addressing the students with a stern expression.
"Class, as I informed you all earlier this week, today we will be having detainment duels. With that being said, for today's lesson, you will be sparring with each other this time in a one-on-one format. Unlike last time, this will be done in newly fabricated environments to replicate more situations that you would come across as heroes. The objective will be to successfully put a pair of handcuffs on your opponents. Collateral damage will deduct points from your final scores. This is an important exercise to help you develop your skills, and I expect you to take it seriously."
The students exchanged nervous glances and words but the teacher continued. Aizawa picks out a set of dice and a list.
"Now let's see what this will look like…" Aizawa says while he tosses his dice on the board three times.
"Rooftop, Uraraka versus Ida. Alleyways, Todoroki versus Midoriya. Sewers, Bakugo versus Yaoyorozu"
"The rest of you will have additional time to warm up. Those of you fighting, head to your stations!" Aizawa commands them before he walks to the side of the crowd. The six of them split off from the rest of the students, Midoriya already hears Bakugo's feral ramblings despite being on the other side of the room from him.
As the six get ready to head to their starting positions Uraraka turns to them all before saying "Good luck everyone!" with a big grin across her face. The small gesture spread through most of them, a smile forming on their faces until Bakugo barks back "I don't need luck!" causing the others to roll their eyes. Heading to the Alley simulator are both Todoroki and Midoriya walking quietly.
"No matter who wins, you'll do great!" Midoriya says reaching out his hand to Todoroki.
"Agreed" Todoroki shakes his hand before heading down the other hall to his entrance.
Midoriya headed to his entrance, which was down a dim and empty hall. To his side he finds the lights showing if the teams are ready. Taking a deep breath he pushes the button underneath, it emits a faint green glow. He paced back and forth in the dimly lit hall, his eyes fixed on the door that led to the alley. He began to strategize and think of some optimal tactics, prepping his arms and legs for quick strikes. He knew that this matchup was going to be tough, and he needed to be at his best. As he continued to warm up, his focus sharpened, and he was ready to face Todoroki.
The second light glows green meaning that Todoroki readied up. The sound of a motor whirring filled the air as the door slowly lifted up, revealing a long sprawling alleyway. The space was narrow and dimly lit, with high walls and a few doors leading off to other buildings. As the door continued to rise, the full length of the alleyway was revealed, stretching out before Midoriya like a winding maze. The air was thick with the scent of oil and gasoline, hinting at the mechanical work that would take place in the garages and workshops lining the alley.
Midoriya moved silently through the alley, his senses alert for any signs of danger. The narrow space was dimly lit, with occasional flickers of a streetlamp causing him to dart his eyes around. Trash and debris littered the ground, crunching underfoot as he moved forward. Despite the darkness, his eyes were sharp, taking in every detail of his surroundings as he searched for any clues that might let him get the drop on Todoroki.
Midoriya scanned the alleyway, searching for a vantage point from which he could survey the area undetected that won't give away his position from the use of his quirk. Finally, he spotted a fire escape ladder that would take him up to a rooftop that offered a clear view of the alley. Using only a small fraction of his quirk he leaps. Scrambling up the rungs of the ladder he gets to the top of the building and looks out at the sprawling chunk of the city.
Midoriya's sharp eyes caught a glimpse of suspicious activity coming from an alleyway a few blocks away. A strong yellow glow painted the otherwise bleak and barren walls.
"Found you!" Midoriya remarks as he sprints toward the edge of the rooftop and launches himself into the air. He effortlessly cleared the gap to the next rooftop and landed back into a sprint. Without slowing down, he continued to leap from one building to the next, his movements fluid and precise. He plays a risky move and charges up his next jump more than before despite knowing that it'll be quite noticeable. He launches himself into the air much higher than before, now only a few hundred feet from that sputtering light.
Before he's able to connect his feet back to the ground a chunk of ice hurls him into a wall. The ice forms around his shoulder and neck sticking him to the side of the wall. Looking through the small gaps between each building he sees Todoroki making an advance on his position. With less than a block distance between Todoroki and Midoriya, Midoriya uses his free legs and begins to charge up for a dash off this wall and a follow-up behind Todoroki. The chunk of ice holding him down cracked and shattered under the force of Midoriya's quirk as he soared to Todoroki. Todoroki raised his hands and summoned a barrage of ice, creating a series of barricades that would trap Midoriya and prevent him from escaping. The ice walls rose up around him, towering high above his head and cutting off any possible escape routes. But Midoriya was quick to react, dodging the projectiles and leaping over the ice walls that Todoroki had created. In response, Midoriya used his own Quirk to create a gust of wind that knocked Todoroki off balance. Midoriya nor Todoroki could gain the upper hand so easily. But as they continued to circle each other, each looking for an opening, they both knew that this competition was far from over.
"Good move trying to distract me with that fire" Midoriya compliments Todoroki.
"I haven't been focusing on my flames yet," Todoroki remarks back with the tonality of some friendly banter.
Midoriya stands there slightly confused but doesn't let it distract him from his objective. He reaches into his belt and unclips the handcuffs he needs to use. The two continued to trade blows, each testing the other's limits while also keeping in mind their intent not to inflict any serious damage to them or their environment. The two students couldn't help but exchange a few friendly taunts and smiles. Midoriya used his agility and quick thinking to dodge Todoroki's ice attacks, while Todoroki used his strategic mind to create traps and obstacles to slow Midoriya down. Midoriya and Todoroki both paused, acknowledging each other's strength and skill both realizing their best bet would be to outlast the opponent by tiring them out.
Midoriya launches into the air hoping Todoroki balancing both his quirks will make him tire out faster. Their movements were almost like a dance, each anticipating the other's next move and countering with their own unique style. Todoroki used his ice powers to create spikes or platforms in the air, while Midoriya used his own Quirk to launch himself in unexpected directions. Midoriya watches as Todoroki is about to land atop the edge of the building by the glow from before. While Midoriya falls back to the ground he charges up a shot of wind and angles it to knock Todoroki back off. The light that Midoriya saw before catches Todoroki's attention enough for him to turn away, getting hit in the back by the wind attack. Causing Todoroki to fall into that alley.
Midoriya sprints over there passing by dumpsters and immobilized cars. He turns the corner to see Todoroki standing in shock. Stood just feet away from Todoroki was a glowing yellow ring, casting an eerie light on its surroundings. The air hummed with strange energy like static, and sparks of electricity danced around the ring's edges. Midoriya slowly stepped behind him in awe of the ring.
"I thought the glow was some kind of bin or distraction you lit on fire, but that's definitely not you" Midoriya says with an anxious shiver in his voice.
"We should report this, this doesn't seem right" Todoroki chimes back, glancing around trying to see if it's got any signs it's from the facility or U.A. as a whole.
As Midoriya steps closer he passes a dumpster and a dilapidated car. After a few more steps away from the two they begin to quietly melt and gurgle into a brown-orange clay-like goo. Those melted piles slithered together forming one larger grotesque malleable body, that constantly shifted and morphed.
Todoroki turns to talk to Midoriya but is shocked to see that gigantic creature.
"Found the new lab rat!" the giant says with a deep ominous voice, it laughs as he rushes in to grab Midoriya.
"Izuku look out!" Todoroki screams as he launches a belt of fire at the giant. The figure encompassed almost the entirety of the alleyway, pushing the two further into the dead end. The flames hardened a chunk of the monster's body before it slowly melted back like before. Midoriya is just able to duck underneath the monstrously large hand that reached for him. The two heroes were using their powers to take down the formidable foe, but it seemed to be dead-set on capturing Midoriya. Todoroki launched a barrage of ice blasts at it, but it quickly dodged them and returned fire with a volley of clay projectiles. Midoriya tried to get the upper hand with several shots of compressed winds, but after the clay was splattered about it would just morph back into one. As they kept resisting the two would take more and more steps backward, toward whatever the ring was.
Now stuck between the clay monster and the strange ring, both mere feet away, the two panicked. Todoroki sprayed more fire onto the monster's face and body slowing him down. Grabbing a hold of each other's arms they aimed at the ground and the two got ready to soar high into the sky using the force of both their powers at once. With a shot of fire and wind, Todoroki lifts off the ground, but before Midoriya can fully lift off his foot snags. Looking down to see some of the garbage and debris turned to clay, trapping his feet to the ground. Midoriya has no time to react before a huge boulder of clay is thrown in his direction, knocking him back, stumbling into the ring, and disappearing altogether.
