Authers Note: Hi this is my first time making a HTTYD fanfic. Please let me know (in a constructive way) how I can improve my story in future chapters.
Fog was rolling in this early morning, perfect for what Hiccup and his friends had planned today. The Dragon Riders were on their way to free more dragons from hunters, who have been capturing dragons closer and closer to Berk, so they can live to see another day without potentially getting killed. Bork was riding on Toothless the Nightfury behind Hiccup, while astrid and the others where flying in on their respected dragons: Stormfly the nadder for Astrid, Hookfang the monstrous nightmare for Snotlout, Meatlug the gronckle for Fishlegs, and Barf and Belch the zippleback for Ruffnut and Tuffnut.
The riders were almost to the ships the hunters where using when hiccup did a quick briefing on the plan: "okay gang, just like last time lets fly in as quietly as possible and Bork, just like last time, you will scout out where the dragons are being held captive and brief us on where they are when we start our attack."
"Uh, why does Bork always get to scout out where the dragons are?" Snotlout asked,
"I've said it before and I'll say again Snotlout, Bork is the quietest, and stealthiest one out of all of us, and he has the beast hearing out of all of us." Hiccup answered, already getting annoyed by Snotlout's question.
Bork is Hiccup and Toothless' closest friend, and has been with them since they first met each other.
"Snotlout, can you sneak around a highly armed ship without setting off an alarm?" Bork asked sarcastically. Snotlout looked like he was about to respond to his question but was cut off by Hiccup.
"Let's not get into an argument right now and focus on the objective. Bork, you ready?"
"Yes" he answered, now trying to keep his voice down as they were getting closer to the ships. Hiccup, now also quieting down, was getting ready to tell him when it was the right time to jump off of toothless.
"Ok then, 3…, 2…,1…, now!"
As soon as Hiccup gave the signal, Bork jumped off of Toothless and glided towards the hunters ship (imagine the wingsuit hiccup used in HTTYD 2). As soon as he landed on the targeted ship Bork immediately put away his flying gear, drew out his two gronckle iron swords, and started walking to each cage counting the dragons noting the species in each cage.
Ok one zippleback, two gronckles, Valka and Cloudjumper sitting on top of this empty cage, wait "VALKA!"
He nearly shouted out her name when he noticed she was standing on top of what looked like the only empty cage with her stormcutter named cloudjumper.
"Yes yes yes now shush, don't want to let the hunters know where here do we? She said in a serious/sarcastic tone.
"I know that but…. how did you sneak onto the ship that quietly. It's already a risk for Hiccup to drop me off that close to the hunters ship."
"Did you forget, i've been doing this for years"
Bork was about to respond to that statement, but it seemed the hunters figured out they were on the ship, because one of them set off the alarm. Bork knew that was their queue to go on the offensive, he nodded to Valka and Cloudjumper and started running towards where the chaos was with both of his sharp swords out and shouting his battle cry.
"Nice of you to drop in on our little party" Hiccup said while he parried an attack from one of the hunters.
"Well since I'm here, how about I tell you what I found on the starboard side of the ship?" Bork said while also parrying an attack from a hunter.
"Go ahead because that's where Astrid and I were about to go."
"Well it's mostly just gronckles, there was a zippleback in a cage, oh and a couple monstrous nightmares also." Bork Said.
"Great this should be a walk in the park" Hiccup Shouted, now running back the way Bork just came from.
Bork decided to follow Toothless since he was going to an area on the ship the rest of the riders hadn't gone to yet. When Bork approached Toothless, he seemed a little surprised he was following him.
"Hey Toothless you don't mind if I follow you do you?"
Toothless gave him a smile, and a dragon-like sound which Bork took as a yes. Toothless was running down a row of cages that were mostly empty besides a small one that had a terrible terror inside it.
"Hey toothless keep going, I'm gonna free this little guy." He said
Toothless nodded and kept on going while Bork freed the terror.
"Hey little guy don't be afraid, me and my friends are here to free you and all your friends from the hunters" Bork said while trying to calm down the already distressed terrible terror.
After some coaxing and showing that he wasn't going to hurt him, the terror eventually walked out of the cage and flew away towards Berk. Bork smiled as he flew away seeing the joy on the terrors face knowing he gets to live another day.
"Uh a little help here!" Astrid called out, but Bork's thoughts were quickly reverted back to their task. He immediately started rushing towards Astrid barreling through hunters knocking them out or severely injuring them with his swords. It was at this moment that he knew the riders were getting outnumbered.
"Astrid, did you free all the dragons?" He asked, obviously implying that they needed to leave.
"Yes Hiccup and I found the dragons you briefed us about and he's probably already in the air with Toothless" she said, while whistling for Stormfly.
"Ok then, let's get out of here!" Bork shouted while jumping onto Stormfly right behind Astrid.
It took a few minutes to get away from the hunters but they were able to get all the dragons to safety without any casualties. Bork was quite impressed. When he looked to his left he saw hearthfire and Katla, staring at Bork with emotionless expressions, Hookfang and Snotlout, staring at Bork with perplexed expressions.
"Uh Bork, you good? You've been staring at us like you just saw a ghost?"
"Uh, Uh yeah sorry just thinking."
Bork sighed to himself, it's going to be one of those days isn't it.
