Ch-1 Realizations
You know I didn't expect my death to be so … anticlimactic. Literally, I died because I tripped on some piece of trash, and cracked something on the concrete, I think I'm dying. but the weird thing now was that everything was dark, I also feel … warm? Shouldn't I be supposed to feel cold, see my life flash before my eyes, or something? But nope here I am bleeding out and nothing is happening no screaming no yelling. nothing except sleepiness.
I woke up a little groggy, But when I opened my eyes I couldn't believe what was in front of me "Am I dead?" I questioned, while I look around this weird place. All around me, it was just desert no hell no heaven not even darkness just desert but when I looked up, I got the shock of my life. Branches of light just spread all the way into the horizon among the beautiful stars "What the F***" I muttered while trailing the branches to their source, And there it was a giant F***ING light tree. I looked on in shock as I muttered "What in the hell" Was it some kind of weird-ass plant, Whatever it was I started walking towards it. Marveling at the sight of it along with the stars as my feet kept moving forward.
When I reached the base of the tree there were roots that had all kinds of 'visions' in them but they were all too blurry to make out and I couldn't even touch them, something was preventing me from touching it like a force field or something, honestly if I didn't hear screaming from most of them I wouldn't have even noticed or tried to touch them.
I started walking again I didn't get far when out of the corner of my eye I saw something that made me freeze. some kind of tall statue 'probably 15 meters' of a weird-looking guy with the widest smile I have ever seen on a person, his arms were lanky, and his torso looked like It could cave in at any second with the ribs looking like they could poke out of the skin at any second, and the stomach looked like it was touching his back, its legs were thin and elongated looking malformed, but there was just something about its eyes that made me feel… watched or like it was waiting for something. I looked around a bit more trying to ignore the statue wondering what kind of person would build that monstrous-looking thing it also looked too detailed I noticed while I continued walking.
It felt like I was walking a long time maybe days or hours but I don't feel tired, I haven't felt much of anything in fact my mind just kind of shut off listening to the white noise of the desert, and looking at the beautiful scene in front of me while my feet kept moving forward. There were branches not as many but still there, looking as beautiful as ever. The star-lit sky along with those branches made for one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, and when I looked back at the tree everything looked even more beautiful. So I sat down to enjoy the view for a while, and my eyelids got heavier slowly as I admired the scene in front of me, until I heard a noise. The sand was shuffling around and water splashing, still tired, I looked around for a bit to find out who was disturbing my peace and there she was a little blonde girl wearing clothes that looked, for a lack of a better word medieval. Although they were just a dress and a headband.
She ignored me hauling a bucket of water 'Who knows where she got that from' so I ignored her as well satisfied with just watching as she moved closer and closer to the tree 'Was she gonna water it?' I wondered idly as she just kept moving forward.
After a while of watching her she stopped next to the ugly statue from before. 'why did it look like an arm was missing' I realized an arm was missing when I focused on the thing 'Wait there really is an arm missing!' the thought made me uncomfortable for a bit but I was too tired to care at this point.
The little girl built some steps from the sand and started to add water to the things stump as she added water and sand on the stump and started molding it, After a while of adding and molding sand the arm was done, looking like nothing happened to it. The way the girl worked was hypnotizing, she looked so focused on the task but also tired, my eyelids grew heavier as I watched her build another statue "This place is nice" I muttered as I closed my eyes allowing the sweet embrace of sleep to take me.
… 'I'm back? Wait a sec how am I back aren't I supposed to be in the desert' I try to move and feel the sand that should be in my eyes but nothing happens I realize that for some reason my arms can't move up too far until they touch something … rubbery? What was that thing? I try to move around only for the same sensation every time I move a little too much, I also felt a wire attached to my belly button I didn't touch it though since I honestly don't know what would happen if I pulled it.
My thoughts wander back to that strange place again after I try to open my eyes but fail 'Was that desert just a dream? Could've been, but wait a second why does it seem familiar though?' I rack my brain to remember, 'the paths' The thought seemed to pop into my head as I remember 'the paths from Attack on Titan, but how- wait how didn't I realize that while I was there?' I try to remember my time in the paths as 'my mind was … slowed? No, it was like I wasn't thinking most of the time.' as I reach this conclusion I also start wondering, what is here? As well as how did I even get to the paths … 'the only thing I can come up with is I'm being reincarnated in Attack on Titan but even then that still doesn't answer the question of why I was in the paths' I rack my mind for an explanation until my heart drops and I realize what I just thought,
I was being reincarnated.
