"Uchuki! It's here! Your letter!" My mother called down the stairs, she was ecstatic as my acceptance letter had finally arrived from Naranja Academy! Though she hadn't known the answer, I did, and it was an astounding yes!

I don't remember much from my past, my mother just told me that my partner, Lycanroc, had brought me to her when I was an infant. I still haven't learned where I'm from, or who I truly am, but I have learned that I'm different from others. Ever since I was young, I occasionally had brief visions of the future. Sometimes it was a few minutes in the future, sometimes a couple of days.

Even though I already knew the results ahead of time, it didn't stop me from the anxious feelings that came with the letter. It's like recognizing a gift's shape, but still being uncertain of what it is. Despite how I saw beforehand that I was accepted, the truth of future visions is they portray a future, but that future can always be changed.

"Well? Don't let your visions leave me in suspense! Open it up!"

I took a breath, clenching the envelope in my hands. The contents of this letter could and would decide my future. Sliding my finger underneath the flap and swiping it to release the seal.

"Dear Uchuki, we thank you for your application to the Naranja academy. After careful consideration, we, the academy professor and directors, have decided you would be a perfect match for our School. We look forward to a formal greeting soon" I began to read it in a mutter as my smile began to grow.

"I...I made it!" My mum ran to me with a tight hug

"Congratulations..." She began tearing up before releasing the hug to put her hands on my shoulders. "I know you won't be able to come back home as much, but...I just want you to go out there, make some friends, and follow your dreams! Oh, and be sure to take Lycanroc with you, and don't tell anyone about your visions...I think there was something else..."

"Mum, I'm gonna be fine. I already know what to do...Aw, now you've got me tearin' up!"

"My bad, but please...Just give it your all"

"I will... Lycanroc! Let's get goin'!" I heard Lycanroc perk up and pile its body down the stairs before jumping onto my stomach, nearly knocking me over! While it usually hurt when Lycanroc jumped on top of me, it's easy to overlook when you think about how much he loved me!

"Oh wait, I remember now! It said on the website that accepted applicants would be picked up by a member of the Student Council to help guide them around. They should be here soon!"

It only had been a few minutes before a knock came on the front door. Mum quickly ran to it, Lycanroc practically jumped onto the door itself but bounced off.

"Lycanroc, here!" I called to it, dropping to the floor with my legs forming a circle to which Lycanroc ran inside of it. Whenever company came over, I would always have to do that, I'm not sure why it works, but as long as it does, who cares about the details?

"Hey there, Ma'am!" A girl said with a smile, glancing around through the doorway, "I'm Nemona of the Naranja Student Council, and I was led to believe that Uchuki lives here, correct?"

"Oh, yes, he's just over here, Uchuki, come here, please"

"Coming!" I ran to the door, Lycanroc rushing behind me to greet her. I'm not that surprised, but I can say he's a bit of a handful!

"Ah, so you're Uchuki?"

"That's me!"

"Well then! Follow me, I'll get you to school in no time! Or actually, you'll get a Starter Pokémon at my house! Well, it's mostly because my parents do a lot of funding for the School"

"Oh, but I have Lycanroc with me?"

"Well, it's a school belief that everyone should get the chance to start fresh, but if you prefer not to, we could always just get the school" To Nemona, it must have looked like I froze in place. In reality, I had a Psychic vision. I saw her leading me to the school before a loud cry led me to a cliff. When I got too close I fell off of it and onto the beach several meters below. However, Lycanroc saved me before we saw a strange Pokémon, injured and fighting a pair of Houndour.

Mum could already notice the signs and tried to bring me into another room as I began to feel concerned. "I'm sorry, this will only take a moment"

"It's no problem, I get it!"

"Uchuki...What's wrong?"

"A Pokémon...It's in danger..."

"I understand...Nemona, was it? Would it be alright for you to go on ahead, Uchuki has something he needs to do first"

"I understand, I'll be on my way. Uchuki, I'll be looking forward to seeing you soon!" She gave a wave before heading back to where she came from.

"Uchuki, do you want to do this alone?"

"Yes, Lycanroc, let's go!" I led him outside in a mad dash, though he was much faster than I and had to slow down so I could catch up. Before long, we found the cliff in my vision and saw something dive into the sea from far in the sky, I'm not sure what it was, but I knew it needed my help. With a deep breath, I jumped down the side of the cliff with Lycanroc catching me and grinding down the side with the move; "Rock Climb" I think Nemona ended up seeing me as she ran to the side and called out my name.

"Uchuki!? What're you doing!?" I ignored her, I had something far more important to do as I dove into the ocean, swimming as quickly as possible to find the creature that dove into the water.

I found it, it looked red, resembling a Dragon-Type, and yet, similar to a Cyclizar. It was foreign, yet extremely familiar...

"Hold on! I'll find a way down there!" Nemona called down to me while I rushed through my bag to find any kind of medicine, then I found my bagged lunch, I knew it wouldn't be much, but it was all I could do.

"H-here, eat this" I pulled out a sandwich from the bag, holding it in front of them to let them smell it. Before long, it began eating, slowly at first, but quickly eating the rest. "Oh, are you feelin' better?" I wish I could understand Pokémon's speech, but even without that skill, I knew how it was feeling as it eagerly looked as if it wanted more. "Sure, let's get you out of here, then we'll get more food" I told it, rubbing its head.

Then, I froze again. Another psychic vision, which was odd. I never have multiple visions this close to each other.

A pack of Houndoom appeared, unlike my vision beforehand revealed, bloodthirsty eyes raced closer as they attacked. I tried to defend the Pokémon, but instead I was bit into, I felt as if they were ripping off my limbs with their powerful jaws, enjoying every drop of blood they could get their paws on. Then, the vision ended as I tried to pull the Pokémon away, but it was too late, the Houndoom were already there. Just like my vision, I tried to defend it, expecting to be wounded like how I saw, but something different happened, the Pokémon fought back! It swung its mighty claws, striking them down with a single blow. Then roaring at them before slinging me over their arm and miraculously jumped onto the cliff and climbed up the rest of the way. I didn't believe it, I couldn't! How were they able to change the future without seeing it? Only I could see the future, and yet I can only change things by avoiding the event or delaying it by a few seconds or minutes, but it changed the entire outcome of my life...How could that happen?

"Uchuki, are you okay!?" Nemoma asked running to me as I was placed to stand on the ground. I barely even noticed her talking to me, I was stunned, still unable to process the information, terrified of the Houndoom even if I was far out of their reach, and I still couldn't figure out what this Pokémon even was. All the questions attacked my brain, and eventually I couldn't take it as I basically shut down and fell backward, but the Pokémon caught me.

"H-hey, are you okay? Should I get a doctor!?" She asked getting closer and waving her hand in my face.

"Huh? Oh...S-sorry, I'm fine...I was just a little startled is all" I admitted, unsure of what was happening, they didn't seem bad, I was just confused.

"Alright then! Oh, but what kind of Pokémon is this...You ever seen it before?"

"No...I don't know what it is...Maybe an evolved Cyclizar?" I suggested

"I didn't think they could evolve... Rotom, can you search it up?" She sighed, then asked her Rotom phone as it flew out of her pocket and examined it from all sides. No data was found.

"Ugh...Figures", She groaned

"Couldn't we take it to a Pokémon Professor?"

"We could...But I don't really know where to find Professor Sada... Maybe the school?"

"Maybe? Oh wait, aren't we late!?"

"Oh, Beedrills, you're right! C'mon, we should get going!" She threw down a Pokéball as a Tauros appeared from it, "C'mon, get on up!"

"O-okay!" I began heading that way before the weird Pokémon stopped me and gestured for me to get on. I guess they really were similar to Cyclizar.

After a while of travel, we were stopped by someone who looked like a hiker, although they were in the school uniform.

"Hey! What're you doing with Koridon!?" He asked, clearly annoyed at something.

"I-I..." I began to stutter before Nemona held her arm out

"Is this your Pokémon? If it is, you need to take care of it! We found it exhausted in the ocean!"

"It's not my concern what that beast does, but it can't be with you!"

I began to notice the signs, I was getting another psychic vision as my world turned dark while the vision began.

"Koraidon! You really ruined my whole childhood, you know. But it's not like seeing you cowering and scared outta your wits makes me feel any better about it. You've got amazing powers, if you just use 'em! And you've got us, too! So... So... So don't you even think about losing to that jerk!" He cheered as another voice, one I hadn't recognized, spoke after

"Arven's right! You have to keep going!" I couldn't really see anything, but I could definitely tell that it was his voice before. But who was the second one? I don't know...

When I returned to the real world, I could see them arguing.

"You need to take care of your Pokémon!"

"Stay out of it, battle-crazed brat! It's not my Pokémon! Never was, never will be!"

"Arven? Did...Did Koridon really ruin your life?"

"W-what!? How would you know that, and how do you know my name!?"

"I dunno...I just do..." I muttered in a lie.

"You're weird... But yeah, so if you want 'em, you can have 'em" He threw a Pokéball at me, but I flinched and nearly dropped it. "That's Koridon's Pokéball, don't lose it"

"Ah, so you must be Uchuki Tempora, it's my pleasure to formally meet you, can I assume that your preparations went smoothly?" It was a white-haired man wearing an orange coat with white detailings for the collar, buttons, and pockets. He looked to have several odd Pokéballs, but they looked to be merely cosmetic. I nodded but then paused. "Well...Actually, we found a weird Pokémon, I think someone called it Koridon?"

"Koridon? I can't say I'm familiar with it... Oh! Before I forget, may I ask to speak to you alone in my office? I wish to ask you a few questions about who you are and what you hope to achieve as a student here. If you don't mind that is, as the School Director, I wish to ensure that all students are comfortable and feel safe being here"

"Sure, I don't mind" I responded as he gave a smile, leading me to an elevator in the main lobby. From there, it was a short distance to his office when he began to speak.

"So, let's begin" He spoke, then clearing his throat, "What made you want to enroll here?"

"Oh, I heard that this is a good school for building connections, especially with Pokémon!"

"That's good! Who did you hear this from?"

"No one in particular, I've just heard it from multiple people, close or otherwise"

"I see. Are there any Pokémon you find yourself especially close to?"

"Yep! Lycanroc and I have been together for as long as I can remember"

"Ah, so you feel like family?"

"Feel? No, of course not. We are family... Well, not by blood, but neither is my mum!"

"Your mother?"

"Yep, we might not be related, but she's just as much family as if she wasn't!"

"I see. Another question; where exactly did you find Koridon?"

"Oh, actually found it crashing into the ocean, so I tried to swim to bring it to land"

"Ah, I see. How noble of you"

"Nah, it's no big deal"

"Maybe not, but it just goes to show that you were a good student to accept"

"Oh, thanks!" I responded, trying to hide a blush.

"One final question, who are you, and what do you hope to achieve in your future?"

"Well...Truthfully, I don't really know who I am, but I want to travel and see the world so I can discover that! Or if that doesn't work, I'll just have to settle with being who I want to be"

"Who you want to be?"

"There are far too many bad things in the world... I can't explain it, but I want to try and change those things to help people!"

"A good ideal, I see no concern of your arrival, please make yourself at home"

"I will, thank you!"

I began to leave, smiling to myself as I aimed for my new dorm room. Ready for the joys of tomorrow.
