Ok ok, let me explain this one...this was a small project that I wrote in just one week during the summer of 2022, when I suddenly thought "What if the world of MHA was connected to the Azure from Blazblue?" while I drank my Gamer Supps' Mango Meta and Guacamole Gamerfart 9000 mix (That shit's great though).
Come to think, Quirks basically are world-wide usable Drives for Blazblue's lore. And with this idea in my mind I wrote the firsts 8 chapters which compose the first arc for this story.
Honestly? At first I had decided to put this fic in the folder named as..."idk" in my hard disk. At first I had decided to put this fic in the folder named as..."idk" in my hard disk, something that actually happened 'till now, when I browsed all the fics I'm currently writing and all the ones I've decided to not post and such. I know, I should concentrate over the rewriting of the first Volume/season/arc of FFXV's crossover with RWBY, but I think use this kind of publishing should be worth of giving a shot, nay?
Besides, Blazblue currently needs all the support the fans can give. The main reason I didn't continued my Fate/GO and Blazblue crossover so far is that Mori, the series' creator and main producer, left Arc System Works after the flop that Blazblue Alternative Dark War (sadly) was. Lore-wise it was so wonderfuly useful and could've continued to be so useful, but the gameplay was actually a...too much chinese version of FGO (We were going to get back our boy Ragna too, but it seems that possibility is vanished *FOR NOW*). Back to the topic of Mori, until further advise from ASW itself, Blazblue is good as going to get a Silent Hill treatment probably. I know we recently got a rougelike from a chinese studio that will be published worldwide via steam, but it is filler as hell and not canon, so I will not count it as canon 'till ASW is ready for announce something during...idk, the 15th anniversary in november? Let's hope so...
Back to this story (For the FGO crossover, it will take more time before I can release a new update. Currently I'm rewriting the whole plot of the Grand Orders with BB Alternative's premises), I decided to try something new...sorry Rags, but your time as the protagonist ain't gonna happen here, after all I think you already realized who will be the protagonist here. Very well, if you're ready to rock, then let's start this party-Scratch that.
Let the Wheel of Fate turns, and Rebel against yourself!
DISCLAIMER: I don't own the rights of these series.
Yo, sorry for the sudden question, but do you watch anime? Hope the answer is yes, 'cause my life…is kind of like an anime. Y'know, I was a guy like the others: Dead family, yandere sister, etc. Got all kinds of tropes, I'm dead serious.
Wanna hear a few? Ok, I have an eye that allows me to see the value of the life force of others. The lower they are, the closer they are to death.
Another one? My right arm is not my right human arm, in fact it is an arm made of vampire's blood—Oh yeah, I'm a former human too. I forgot to say that my saviour is a spoiled vampire princess…
The same vampire who asked me to save the "Possibilities". Wanna know how? Travel into a different yet central dimension, protect that green haired snake asshole of Hazama and beat the shit out of my alternative self that lives into that dimension…which is theoretically my nephew?
…Alright, I'm done with this anime crap. My name is Naoto Kurogane, former human, servant of Raquel Alucard and now I freaking hate anime.
Prologue: The Wheel of Fate…
"Guhah!" Jumping behind, Naoto gritted his teeth as he landed away from his foe: The Grim Reaper, Ragna the Bloodedge. He was fighting him because if he lost control over his right arm for good, the Azure Grimoire, he would become the Black Beast, a monster that could eventually destroy the whole world. "This isn't good! What's with this guy, he's ridiculously strong?!"
Without looking behind his back, Naoto was keeping his guard even from sudden surprise attacks coming from the man he was protecting: Hazama. That damn snake…why Hazama? He preferred to protect that Valkenhayn asshole one hundred times instead of protecting Hazama.
"...Gah!" Suddenly, the berserker Ragna released a groan of pain. Glaring at him, Naoto clenched his fists if the Grim Reaper would attack him once again. "Ugh…what is this feeling? It's like I'm punching a mirror, and it's seriously creeping me out!"
Oh well, lucky Naoto— "YOU'VE BEEN HITTING ME FOR A WHILE, AND NOW YOU SAID THAT?!" The teenager shouted at his alternate self. He was very pissed, and Ragna's smirk worsened Naoto's already bad mood.
"That's why I started holding back"
"Tch…" Clicking his tongue, Naoto repressed a curse as he grinned a little. "But it looks like you've woken up"
Closing his eyes, the Grim Reaper spoke. "Sorry, you have my thanks"
"It's fine, I was just fulfilling my promises" Naoto replied, thinking about Raquel's words.
Save the "Possibilities"!
"...Ragna" Rachel Alucard, the heir of the Alucard Family in this world (yet she is Raquel's sister at the same time…Naoto is, and forever will be, confused about this), stepped towards Ragna. "Are you…?"
"Sorry, Rachel, I was almost consumed by "this" once again" The white haired man replied, looking at his right arm.
"It looks…. like you're fine now" The Lolita vampire girl replied.
"That's my line. Are you okay? Jeez…how could you get caught by Hazama of all people…" Ragna looked at her as Naoto sighed. 'Seriously, get a room, you two…are you flirting without knowing?!' The user of the Bloodedge Drive thought before he saw Ragna widen his eyes.
"Wait, Hazama!"
"Guh…good grief, you didn't have to meddle in this. How foolish…truly foolish, heh heh heh…" …Great. Turning their heads, the three saw Hazama standing against a wall.
"You seem to be enjoying yourself. I "saved" you, so you should be more grateful" Naoto said, glaring at the snake. He knew that Hazama was hiding something of his agenda.
"Saved me?" The green haired man opened his eyes, revealing his characteristic golden snake-like eyes. "You, saved me? …Heh heh heh, ahahahah, I see! This truly is…interesting, heh!" Coughing blood from his wounds made by a berserker Ragna before, Hazama smirked as he glanced at the three. "It seems…there's still a "future" left!"
"A future…?" Naoto murmured before something cutted the door of the entrance, running inside.
"Nii-san!" Jin Kisaragi exclaimed as he ran towards his brother, Rachel and Naoto
"Jin, you're late" Ragna casually said, like he was greeting his younger brother which replied in a cold tone.
"I'll kill you later, nii-san"
Before the two brothers could continue their discussion, the soul of Trinity appeared behind Jin, shocked at the sight of Hazama. "That's-?! Kazuma…no, Hazama!"
"Now then, Hazama—" With the attention towards Hazama for the last time, Ragna spoke. "—I'm tired of being tricked by your games anymore. This is the end"
"The end…" Hazama closed his eyes, smiling a little. "Yes, this is the end. However…I would rather die than be "saved" by you…I'm an Azure Grimoire as well, after all!"
"...Hazama" Trinity tried to speak, but Hazama did it first.
"Trinity Glassfille…I really hate those kind and compassionate eyes of yours…" Hazama spitted those words like it was venom. He was a snake and he hates being compared to that prototype of Kazuma Kval, after all. As Trinity glanced at him with shocked eyes, Hazama casually walked towards the edge of the Cauldron, enjoying the woman's despair. "Anyway, Ragna. I look forward to the fun "possibilities"..." Casually putting his right hand on his fedora, Hazama smiled as he gave his back to the cliff. "…the possibilities you will free from this living "hell", hehe!"
"Wha—Wait, Hazama!" Ragna shouted as he tried to run towards him, but for an instant, his Blazblue flashed for just a second as it released a heartbeat-like sound. When the light dissipated, Ragna the Bloodedge saw Naoto Kurogane run towards Hazama.
Ragna knew inside his heart. Naoto shouldn't run towards Hazama, their fates are indeed crossed, but this action shouldn't happen in this timeline. This is wrong…so wrong! But then…why is he doing it?! Why is the question…but which is the answer? It is so simple. Because no one could know that, from saving Hazama to Naoto running towards the Grimoire in order to stop his arrival to Naoto's Possibility, a new timeline was born for just that instant.
"Not on my watch, Hazamaaaaa!" Jumping inside the flames of the Cauldron, Naoto grabbed Hazama's right arm before he punched him with his free hand, only to be blocked by the green haired man.
"Fool, do you want to die?! You're not a Grimoire!" The former official of the N.O.L. said.
"And what, allow you to go back to my world?! Never! I will beat you now for then return to Raquel!" Naoto shouted as he revealed his determination to Hazama. "This damned Cauldron will bring us to my original world, right?!"
"Your original—...heheheh!" Hazama gritted his teeth before his expression became calm as he cruelly smiled. "Oh well, then let's enjoy this trip~"
"What?!" Suddenly, the Nox Nyctores Ouroboros appeared around them before it wrapped them in its grasp like a boa. "Ouroboros?! What's your endgame, Hazama?!" Naoto shouted as they continued to fall.
"Whooo knoooows~" Hazama smirked. "Maybe I want to enjoy the future you, Kurogane Naoto, created with your own hands…oh well, let's do it together~!"
"Created by me?! What do you-"Clenching his left fist, Naoto widowed his eyes when…an eye appeared on his hands. "WHAT?!" Breathing loudly, Naoto noticed that the eye was looking right at him…together with another eye popped out from his right arm…and another one…and another one…"What the…WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!"
"My my, you do really know nothing about the Boundary" Hazama said as he started a lecture, his smirk on his face as he explained. "A body like yours cannot resist against the Seithr of the Boundary. You saw Arakune, yeah? That kind of monster…that's your fate! Oh man, I cannot wait to see what kind of abomination you will become~!"
Going into hyperventilation, Naoto had long ago lost his hearing…no…all of his senses without realizing it. The pure Seithr that was being released from the Boundary itself was crushing him as if he was a can.
I don't want to die… were the words that Naoto wanted to say. He wanted to return to his world. He wanted to save Raquel, just as he promised to her. He wanted to return to her! He wanted to finally defeat Hazama! How could do it if he will die?! He wants to live…and save—
….
Save who…?
Who needs to be saved?
Right now, his mind was completely broken and corrupted by the Seithr…yet, the will to save was strong.
So strong…
…At the point that something happened even if that shouldn't happen…and its name is the Azure Will.
The Azure Will was totally conflicted.
While it did not have the ability to communicate in the most mundane of ways, it did have the ability to learn via several methods like mental invasion. In other words, mind reading.
There are only two beings that are worthy of its power…but the will of the other two is incredible. At this moment, they are more worthy of the original two contenders, but the Azure knows that the original and true contenders are the first two.
If it could choose more noble contenders, then it would have chosen no other.
The only problem was how the Azure was supposed to grant its new contender their wishes now that they had been dragged into the Cauldron.
The Azure had created its own dilemma with almost no solutions available. There was only one thing it could do.
It had to correct its own error.
After reaching outwards towards the contenders before their presence faded from the dimension forever, the Azure released its power and enacted its one true purpose.
Within a second, the Azure had learned of what kind of world the two new contenders would be finding themselves flung into.
The younger contender's determination was focused on saving someone, while the older contender was seeking the future created after being saved by the younger one.
…Then it is settled.
A Possibility of Heroes.
This is the Azure Will's answer.
It was without a doubt the best world that would grant the younger contender's ultimate wish, and at the same time, it was the future he created after he saved the older.
This is the perfect answer for them, at least for the Azure.
…However there were a few problems that the younger contender would encounter.
The other contender that was pulled alongside the younger one was undoubtedly going to be a hassle for the victor to deal with down the line should they appear together. However, the chances of that are unlikely. Those two were of no issue. No, the real problem that had arisen with granting the younger contender's wish, because…
…He was too old. His age would prove a problem within that society inside that new Possibility. He would be met with suspicion, people would not trust him and therefore he would lose the one chance for his wish. It would also lock the contender out from the ideal route towards his wish.
This was unacceptable.
So there was but one choice left.
The younger a stranger is, the more willing people are to overlook things or nurture them. The magical and omnipotent force prepared itself to grant a miracle that would lower its younger contendent's age.
The Azure would ensure that the young man would take advantage of this aspect of human behaviour, willingly or not.
Wherever the location the young contender would appear, the older contender would not, plus the time of arrival would be greatly different.
As it managed to accomplish the miracle, the Azure analysed the older contender's full intentions. Evil. He was 'pure' evil. Something that the younger contender does not allow…they are, and will be arch-nemesis forever. However, the Azure did not stop the older man, even if it could. Because their fates are destined to cross over and over again. The older man would undoubtedly play an important role for the younger man's wish whether the victor knew that or not.
Once the Azure felt the victor's age reduce, it let go of them. Unfortunately, due to the little time allowed it, the contender's Drive was almost completely sealed off, most likely due to the fact that the Azure had also reduced the Soul's age at a point before the Embryo known as Raquel Alucard saved him, but it managed to keep a small portion of the Drive accessible for the boy. Hopefully, the memories were intact too.
The wish had been granted. Now the Azure had but one single "directive" left to take…observe the final battle between the true contenders…the "Gods" of this very World, Ragna the Bloodedge and Yuuki Terumi…
"TEEEERUUUMIIII!"
"RAGNA THE BLOODEDGE!"
The Wheel of Fate is Turning…
