It had been one year since San Ricardo had been saved, since the Great Terror came for the golden goose, since... the tragic loss of Humpty Dumpty, and yet things had not gone well for two very special cats, Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws. This was usual, the two feline outlaws yet again find themselves in the desert, surrounded by nine soldiers. The comandante of the group stood at the front, overviewing the two outlaws' wanted posters, while eight other soldiers surrounded the cats. Puss faced the comandante, holding his sword out in front of him, Kitty did the same while holding her back to Puss'. The comandante then lowered the posters, and faced the feline outlaws.

Comandante: "Sí, these are the ones."-the comandante confirmed-"Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws, you are under arrest!"

Puss: "I do not think so, señor."-said Puss, mockingly-"Shall we, mi amor?"

Kitty: "I thought you'd never ask."

One of the soldiers then lunges his spear into the ground, but the two cats jump up into the air, causing his spear to be stuck in the ground. Puss then landed on the spear and ran up to where he reached the man's shoulder, and began crawling around his body. The guard tried to use his hand to pull the cat off him, but only hit himself in the process. Puss then reached the man's face, and kicked him square in the nose, leaving his boot print on the guard's face, who fell onto his side. Kitty also jumped around on the guards' helmets, causing them to attempt to swipe her. She then jumps down to join Puss on the horse, and they both ride the horse away from the guards.

Comandante: "After them!"

the eight remaining guards then ride off to apprehend the two feline outlaws. As they leave, the half-conscious guard lifted his head, and looks out.

Guard: "Wha...who are you people?"-asked the guard, confused-"Why are you all looking at me?"

The eight guards then chased after the feline outlaws, who kept a safe distance from them. The guards did however, manage to ride to where they were surrounding the cats. The comandante drew out his sword, and held it up to signal the guards to close in.

Comandante: "Stop them!"

As the horses closed in on them, Puss and Kitty turn to each other, and give a nod.

Kitty: "You know what to do."

Kitty then jumps and does a backflip, unsheathing her sword, and landing on one of the soldiers's head, her boots making a clank sound with the collision to the helmet. The soldier then takes out his knife, and swings it up towards Kitty, but she uses her sword to block the head. The soldier then looses his knife, and Kitty kicks him in the face, sending him off the horse as she jumps onto the saddle.

Kitty: "Adiós idiota!"

Kitty then takes the reins off the horse into her free paw, and steers it towards another soldier, who draws his spear. She then makes the horse ram into the side of his, and the horse begins to panic. The horse then springs up, and the soldier is sent flying off, as his horse kicks another guard in the side, and knocks him off his horse. Kitty managed to jump back onto the horse in which Puss still rode, and kneeled down next to him.

Kitty: "Three guards!"-said Kitty, gloating

Puss: "Not bad."-said Puss, impressed-"Now let me show you how it's done."

Puss then hands Kitty the reins of the horse, and also does a backflip towards a soldier. He stands on the head of a guard's horse, and draws his swords towards the man.

Puss: "Fear me, if you dare."

The guard then took his own sword, and began to fight against Puss, who blocked every hit with his own sword. He then backflips to the back of the horse, and raises his free paw, unsheathing his claws. He then sinks his claws into the horse's rear end, causing it to bolt up in shock. Puss managed to hold onto the saddle, but the soldier was sent flying back, and hit another soldier, causing the both of them to fall of the horse. As the two soldiers flew the through the air, one of them accidentally hung into another, and dragged him off with them. Puss then came face to face with one more soldier, who pointed a spear towards him. Though the Spanish cat managed to hold onto the sword, and swing around, as he dragged the soldier down by the spear. The man then falls off his saddle, but his foot was still caught in the stirrup, which made him get dragged across the sand until finally managing to pull himself free. Puss then lands back on the horse with Kitty.

Puss: "That's four! I beat you."

Kitty simply smacks Puss' chest in a playful manner at his antics.

Kitty: "That's cheating, Ginger!"-Kitty exclaimed-"You know I have no claws."

Puss: "No it's not, it's using what I have."

As he spoke that out, Kitty yet again laid a playful smack to his chest. Though as they laughed about this, the comandante caught up to them.

Comandante: "I don't need these tontos!"-said the comandante, angrily-"I'll handle you two myself!"

The man then raised his sword, and slashed down, which Puss managed to block with his own sword. As the man was thrown back, he swung his sword towards Kitty, but she dodged it, and tied the reins around his wrist. She then pulled the reins, and the man winced as he dropped his sword. The move their own horse, to where it was now further apart, and left the man laying sideways in midair, between two horse. Puss and Kitty then jumped up and onto his back.

Puss: "We'd love to stick around, but we really must getting going."

Kitty: "Adiós!"

The two cats then jump off, and land on their feet in the sand. As he clings to the horse, the comandante sees that he is moving towards a cactus, which his him in the chest as he lets go of the horses, and lands on his back. As the comandante groans in pain, Puss and Kitty make it a safe distance from the soldiers.

Puss: "Yet again, we end up nearly arrested."-said Puss, jokingly-"I wonder what will be our way next."

Kitty: "Well, surely nothing that Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws can't handle."-said Kitty, humorously

After saying this, Kitty playfully pulled Puss' hat down over his eyes, prompting him to grunt in annoyance. Kitty giggled at the joke, and though Puss was annoyed at the joke, he could somehow never stay mad at Kitty. As he readjusted his hat, he wrapped his arm around his girlfriend's shoulder's while walking beside her.

Puss: "Come on, the next town isn't far, and I for one wouldn't mind settling down for a while."

As the Spanish outlaws leave, they keep the position for a little longer, it felt good to them. As they leave, the comandonte could be seen, laying half-conscious on the ground at the impact.

Comandante: "Qúe."

The felines finally leave as they see there work in what had happened to the soldiers.

At the entrance of Barcelona, Puss and Kitty had arrived at the town. This was one of the few towns in Spain, in which neither of them is a wanted outlaw. They knew this town would be a good place to lay low and settle down for a while, which would be great for the two feline outlaws. They arrived at a small inn, the sign reading "El Quedarse en Casa", from above the door. They then push open the door, arriving where they were quickly greeted by the innkeeper.

Innkeeper: "Hola, welcome to El Quedarse en Casa."-said the innkeeper, friendly-"What may I do for you tonight?"

Kitty: "One room, por favor."

The innkeeper then digs around under his desk, and quickly comes back up with a key.

Innkeeper: "Here you are."-said the innkeeper, handing them the key-"You are in room number six, right down the hall."

Puss: "Gracias."

Puss and Kitty then walk down the hall, and make it to room number six, to which they enter. Upon entering the room, Puss feels a sudden rush of air over his head, which shocks him. He feels his paw over his head and ears, realizing that his hat was no longer on his head. Puss then turns to Kitty, finding his hat in her right paw.

Puss: "Very funny."-said Puss, sarcastically-"Now, hand it over."

Kitty: "Ahahah. If you want it back, you'll have to pay the price."-said Kitty, jokingly

Puss: "And what might that be?"

Kitty: "Hmm...one kiss."

Kitty then smacked her lips in a playful manner, furthering her point on the matter. Puss sees her point, and shoots smirk towards his lover. Kitty begins to casually walk towards Puss, causing him to slowly back up, while they still kept the smirks on their faces. Puss backs up onto a chair, and Kitty leans in towards her boyfriend. Without hesitation, Kitty closes her eyes and presses her lips to her lover's, while at the same time, moving her arms around his neck. Puss then furthers this by closing his own eyes, and wrapping his own arms around Kitty's waist and shoulders. The two thieves then slowly and tenderly continue their make out session, which seemed to last about five minutes to them. They then decided they had to pull away for air, and as they do, Kitty gently placed Puss' hat back on his head.

Puss: "Was that a reasonable price, mi carazón?"

Kitty: "Hmm, I'd say so."-said Kitty, seductively-"Now come on, I could go for a round of leche right about now."

Kitty then slowly rises from Puss, and walks out from the door, Puss staggering up behind her, and following her out. As they reach the exit, they find themselves in the street, the various shops seemed as though they were about to close.

Kitty: "We should get going."-said Kitty, desperately

Puss: "You go right ahead."-said Puss, unexpectedly-"I just have to go pick something up."

Kitty: "Now? The don't you realize how..."

Puss: "I know, it will only be quick."-said Puss, innocently-"I'll meet you there, I promise."

Kitty: "You better."

Kitty then turns on her heel, and walks off towards the cantina, while Puss walks towards another part of town. In truth, Puss saw this as an opportunity for a plan he had, he had been with Kitty for a year now, and could only ever think about her. It was this that gave him the idea that they should have more together. As he walks down the street, he just thinks about Kitty's black and white fur, her deep blue eyes, and how brave, confident, adventurous, feisty, yet how humerus and sweet she can be. He snapped out of his daydream, when he turned and saw the placing he was searching for, the jewelry shop. The ginger cat then pushed open the door, hearing the small bell ring as the door opened. It was this ringing sound that caused the jeweler to come hurdling out of the back room.

Jeweler: "We are closing, señor."

Puss: "I know, this will only take a moment."-said Puss, defensively-"You don't happen to have anything that would fit on a cat, would you?"

Jeweler: "Actually we do, mi padre told me it was stupid idea."-said the jeweler, cocky-"Yet here I am, about to sell a some."

The man then pulled out a small case from under the desk, and opened it to reveal many small, wooden boxes.

Jeweler: "Now, what would you like? We have cat-sized earrings, bracelets, necklaces..."

Puss: "What about rings?"

Jeweler: "Rings, right here."

the jeweler then grabbed on of the boxes, and opened it, revealing it to contain many cat-sized rings. Puss then examined the many rings, and tried to find the right one.

Puss: "No...no...no!"-said Puss, irritated-"Where can I...wait, I need to think."

Puss began to think about Kitty, and then looked back to the rings. His gaze then fell upon one small ring, the jewel one seemed to be the exact same shade of blue as Kitty's eyes, cut into a diamond-shape, and rest on a silver band. Puss then picked the ring out of the box, and held it in his paw.

Puss: "This one. This one is perfect."

Puss then handed the ring to the jeweler, who took it and placed it in a small, black box.

Jeweler: "Excellent choice, señor,"-said the jeweler, impressed-"That will be one thousands euros."

Puss then threw up the bag of coins, even though the ring was so expensive, he found it worth every euro. The jeweler then handed Puss the box, and he walked off. As he left the shop, he opened the box to admire the ring. He gazed down at the ring, already imagining it on Kitty's ring finger. Now with the ring found, he had the first step of his plan put into action. Puss then closed the box, and tucked the ring away, as he left to see if he could find Kitty.

In another part of town, Kitty had managed to reach the place she was looking for, a cantina/bar, made for talking cats, quite similar to the Litter Box. She pushes open the door, and finds many cats sitting around at tables and drinking their beverages. Kitty walked up to the bar, her boots make an odd sound against the stone floor as she walked. Kitty then sat down at the bar, as the grey cat with an apron on came behind the bar.

Bartender: "What can I get for you, señora?"

Kitty: "One leche, por favor."

???: "I would like one too, por favor."

Out of nowhere, Puss showed up and sat down beside Kitty, resting his elbow on the bar.

Kitty: "So, you did show up."-said Kitty, humorously

Puss: "Of course I have, did you think I'd miss it."-said Puss, rhetorically-"I told you I'd be here, and I am."

Kitty: "Well, you are fortunate in that case."

Puss then takes Kitty's white paw into his own orange paw, and squeezes it gently. The bartender then stepped up and passed them the two small cups of milk they asked for. Puss then uses his free paw to lift the cup to his mouth, and slowly uses his tongue to drink from it. Kitty does the same, the small splashes as her tongue touches the milk. After about three more rounds each, they decided it was enough, and left. Kitty sets a small bag of gold coins on the bar, and takes Puss' paw as they leave.

On the far end of the bar, I'm the corner, their was no light, and only a pare of back paws, clad in dark red-brown boots could be seen, perched up on the bar. The bartender walks up to the mysterious cat, and sets a cup of milk at the bar, next the the boots.

Bartender: "Your leche, señor."

???: "Gracias."-said a mysterious, masculine voice

The mysterious cat then lower his back paws to the floor, and now an orange paw, with black and white specked over it reached out from the shadow, and grabbed the cup. Though not seen, anyone could here his tongue hitting the liquid as he drank.

???: "Tell me, señor, who were those two gatos you were serving a moment ago?"-asked the stranger, mysteriously

Bartender: "I believe that the hombre was Puss in Boots, and..."

???: "Puss in Boots, you say."-said the stranger, suspiciously

Bartender: "Sí, you know him?"

???: "Let's just say he's an old friend."-said the stranger, suspiciously-"And who was the gata with him?"

Bartender: "Kitty Softpaws, a companion of his."

???: "I've heard enough."-said the stranger, setting two gold coins on the bar-"Gracias for the leche, and the information."

The cat then rose from his seat, and left, his boots making a sound as he left.

Back at the inn, Puss and Kitty arrived in their room exhausted from their stay at that bar. Though Puss was expecting the next thing Kitty would say.

Kitty: "So, tell me, what was it you went to pick up?"-asked Kitty, curiously

Puss: "What? Oh yeah, that."-said Puss, nervously-"Nothing, nothing important."

Kitty: "Oh come on, Ginger, if it weren't important, you wouldn't have left to grab it."-said Kitty, reasonable-"So, what was it?"

Puss: "Alright, you caught me."-said Puss, defeated-"I just thought I'd get something for you, mi amor."

Puss then did a slight bow, and pulled a small, red rose that he held in his paw. Kitty took the rose that he held towards her, flattered at the gesture, knowing that a red rose means true love. Even through her fur, Puss could notice the slight blush that painted her cheeks.

Kitty: "Puss, it's beautiful. Gracias."

Puss then rose from his Boeing position, and pulled Kitty into his arms, stroking one paw over her silk-like fur. Kitty then moved her own arms around Puss' back, and rested her head against her chest as he held her. They stayed in this embrace for a moment, and released each other in a matter of minutes.

Kitty: "It's getting late, we should probably get to bed."

Puss: "I couldn't agree more."

Kitty then set the rose down on the nightstand of one of the beds in the room, as she had to get ready for bed. Puss watched Kitty's white, declawed paws fiddle with buckled of her brown sword belt, before it came undone and she removed it. Puss then turned away, and did the same with his own black one. Once their belts came off, Puss and Kitty placed their belts and swords on a chair that was conveniently in the room. Kitty then climbed up onto one of the beds in the room, and removed her boots and set them on the floor, getting on the other bed, and removing his own boots, as well as setting his hat on one of the bedposts. Puss and Kitty then get under the covers of their respective beds, and turned over to fall asleep.

Kitty: "Good night, mi amor."

Puss: "Good night, mi carazón."

Kitty then curled up in her bed, and drifted off to sleep, Puss on the other hand, had another idea. He pulled out the black box, and opened it to admire the ring he had purchased earlier that day. He knew when the time was right, he would give Kitty the ring, and put his plan into action, however, for now he just tucked the ring away, and fell asleep himself.

To be continued...

Author's Note: "Okay, before you all started bombarding about this, I want you to know that I am more than aware that this doesn't tie to The Last Wish, I have not made it that way, nor do I intend to. Don't get me wrong, I've seen The Last Wish, and it was a really good movie, it's just that I made up, and finished this story before The Last Wish came out, and also before I knew there were sites where you can write stories, so if I make it tie to the movie, then it will just ruin the whole thing, so I guess this is now an AU. I'm sorry if that makes this story outdated, but it was just too good for me to not publish. Anyway, that's about all I have to say, and the next chapter will be out soon.
