This was inspired by the latest Guardians TV spot where Lylla says it's good to have friends which made me wonder why she'd say that and guess she's a loner in the MCU so imagined maybe the Guardians especially Rocket would befriend her and mayge this might turn ijto a series of stories all about this
In this, one the Guardians find Lylla and decide to befriend her, especially Rocket teaching her about things especially friendship.
"Y-You sure you wanna be my friend, Rocket and you want me, to come with you and your friends but we just met." Lylla said softly to a certaiin armoured male-raccoon who happened to be Rocket, one of the Guardians of the Galaxy
He and the others had met her on Half-world only Rocket sensed the female-otter was lonely and needed friendship and maybe, just maybe he and the Guardians could be her friends or teach her about friendship unaware Cosmo was readijg his mind finding it sweet he wanted to help her, even though he didn't know her very well smiling along with Mantis knowing Rocket was afraid, in case Lylla was taken from him like Yondu or they were travellijg like Thor with Love, his daughter.
"Yes I do, as you need friends and we're just the friends you need, maybe become part of our found family." Rocket said.
"I-I'd like that Rocket, it's been a lomg while since having those things." she replied to him smiling a little as she followed them to the Bowie which was larger than anybspaceship she'd ever seen before, entering following them to the kitchen feeling hungry, guessing she needed a snack which made Rocket chuckle hearing her furry belly rumble looking embarrassed as Rocket found leftover Groot Morning pancakes heating them up using the stove.
"Mmmmm sounds good, I've never had them before." Lylla told him making Rocket grin.
"Well you're gonna love them as he makes them a lot." Nebula told her which made her excited.
The female-otter dug in, after squirting lots of syrup on hers guessing she'd never had syrup before or pancakes making the Guardians surprised by this, including Rocket guessing they could help her plus was setting up a room for her on the Bowie andcan apartment for her on Knowhere when they got back there, seeing Lylla impressed enjoying the pancakes hearing them chuckle at her enjoyment of pancakes.
"They're so good and the syrup's good too." Lylla exclaimed in joy
"Glad you're enjoying them, Lyllie." Quill told her.
"Lylla, my name's Lylla." she told him making Rocket grin, as he liked that Lylla could stand up to guys like Quill guessing she wanted to earn a nickname when she became real friends with them, which he understood but saw her yawning as it had been a long day for them stretching, only Rocket was helping Drax clean up after having pancakes making her frowning deciding to help surprising Rocket understanding despite tired, making him appreciative.
"You're welcome, as I wanted to help you." she told him yawning making him smile.
"Just go rest as sleep will do you good, us too." Rocket said to her seeing her go to the room, he'd set up for her getting ijto bed letting sleep overtake her drifting off into sleep but didn't hear footsteps as Rocket entered checking on her seeing her deep asleep relieving him knowing that being her first friend was a big deal like how Groot had been his first friend growijg up goijg to the cockpit as he was doijgsome piloting forva while.
"I am Groot." he heard Groot asking.
"Yeah, it reminds me of when we first met, which is why we've gotta help Lylla, were you doing target practice again." he said seeing the treelike male nodding, making Rocket sighing but was heading tomthe cockpit with Groot followijg him making coffee to keep them awake while Rocket was piloting, seeing Groot had the Zune as music also helped seeing Rocket smirking seeing tha knowing Quill would freak if he saw them using it.
"This should help us out." he told him.
"I am Groot." Groot told him seeing him grin.
"I'm okay, I can handle piloting for a bit bud and Lylla's resting, we should let her sleep." Rocket said.
"I am Groot, I am Groot." he heard Groot telling him, hanging out with him.
"She loved the pancakes, plus maybe you can try making friends with ner too alojg with Nebula." Rocket said.
It was early morning but Rocket was piloting the Bowie with Groot for company plus they were listening to the Zune on low volume so the music wouldn't awaken the others as it had been a lomg day but right now, Rocket was drinking coffee to keep himself awake while piloting seeing Groot understanding knowing that he'd sleep a lot later while the others would be awake hoping Lylla was sleeping peacefully unaware she'd heard them talking surprising them that she was there hoping they hadn't woken her up seeing her shaking her furty head as she was curious, about what they were doing.
"I had to go pee, then I heard you guys talking and guessed you could use some company." she told him which surprised him and Groot but liked her being here.
"Thanks Lylla, as Groot and I could use some company." Rocket replied to her as she sat down near him staring at Groot confused by him as she'd never seen one before making Rocket grin, as he explained to her about Groot impressing her drinking coffee too, it was helping her wake up mentally wanting to learn how to pilot so she could help them out sometimes impressijg Rocket that she wanted to learn how to pilot seeing Groot nodding.
"I am Groot." Groot told her confusing her.
"That's how Groot talks, Lylla." he said to her.
"Ohhhhhh, well I've never seen a Groot before." she admitted.
"I am Hroot, I am Groot." Groot replied to her seeing Rocket nodding, eating pellets asking her, if she wanted some seeing her nodding taking a handful munching which was relaxing him along with Lylla making Groot grin at this because it was sweet knowing Lylla needed help after being alone for so long.
"Yeah we will help her." Rocket whispered to him.
"I am Groot." Groot replied to him seeing Lylla asleep.
