"STOP! YOU'RE KILLING HER!" Bonnie heard one of the Guardians yell.
Bonnie jumped to her feet but didn't dare leave her room. Mom had told her that clients couldn't see her or they wouldn't come any more. She pushed her ear against the door, hoping to hear something.
" . . . Just leave the money and let's go. All she needs is food and she'll be fine." She heard one of the men say before there were noises of agreement then the front door slamming shut. Immediately Bonnie ran into the kitchen and grabbed her favorite food: apples. She ran back into her mom's room to see Marrie lying on the bed with a blanket thrown carelessly over her nude body.
"Mommy?" she whispered. Marrie tried to sit up but she was too weak so she just watched as Bonnie walked up to her.
"Soft . . . soft food baby." She whispered. Bonnie thought of the Jell-O they had made yesterday and went to go get some. She came back minutes later with a bowl full of yellow Jell-O. Bonnie helped her mom eat the food before crawling into bed next to her. She felt sorry for her mom and tried to not look at the small puncture wounds on her neck. It was hard, with Marrie's blood singing to Bonnie.
"Can you get me the shower started?" Marrie whispered and Bonnie immediately went into the one bathroom they had that was filled with makeup bags and hair accessories. Minutes later Bonnie sat in front of the TV watching Nickelodeon.
Marrie stood in the shower, watching as the blood dripped down her body and into the drain. She felt disappointment. Bonnie wasn't supposed to see her own mother naked and week. She was disappointed in herself that was for sure. What was she supposed to do? Nothing, she couldn't leave Bonnie with Strigoi out for her own of a kind blood, there was no other job. Well, she could work from home but she didn't have any practice in the human world. Marrie remembered Tasha Ozera, the Moroi who was a karate instructor. She had felt respect for her, then jealousy. Ugh, she hated that bitch. Marrie got out of the shower and dressed in her casual attire, some skinny jeans and a turtle neck to cover her bite marks.
"Bonnie?" Marrie walked into the living room with a smile on her face, she felt better already and it was still daylight. They could go to the mall or something.
"Yeah?" Bonnie answered. She looked up from where she was sitting on the floor.
"You want to go shopping? We could get you some new clothes and toys." Bonnie was at the door in seconds but Marrie had to pull her back and put her jacket and scarf on since it was 41 degrees out.
Bonnie was jumping up and down in excitement as they entered the mall. Her mom looked a lot better so Bonnie dragged her to Build-A-Bear workshop and made nearly three bunnies. They were her favorite animal, much to her mom's displeasure. While mom had been looking at the prices Bonnie looked outside to see a girl around her mom's age with three other guys. She was pretty, but not as pretty as mom. The girl had been talking fast, as if mad, but stopped when she passed a jewelry shop. One of the other guys, who looked older than the other three, looked like he was about to murder someone before the girl dragged them away. Bonnie turned back around and made the three adoption papers before dragging her mom to the jewelry store. She wanted to know what those people had stopped to look at.
Marrie froze when she realized where Bonnie was heading. To the Jewelry shop, where Victor Dashkov had bought the rose shaped necklace.
"Um, Bonnie look! Santa!" Marrie pointed to where a man sat in a chair and pretended to be Santa. Bonnie squealed in delight before yanking Marrie towards him. She sighed in relief; she could never go in there again. Bonnie came to a stop behind two kids who looked around the same age. The girl had pretty blonde hair while the boy had black hair. The kids reminded Marrie of her old friends, Lissa Dragomir and Christian Ozera.
"Hi! I'm Bonnie!" Bonnie greeted herself to the kids. They turned around and Marrie nearly choked. They had piercing green eyes, the ones their mom probably had. Marrie looked around, trying to find a way out of this death place. It was all green and red, all cheery while Marrie felt like she was suffocating.
"Hi, I'm Rhea and this is my Twin Eric Dragomir. What do you want for Christmas?"
