Blood. That was all Marrie could see. Dimitri walked ahead of her, looking around the station for any survivors.
She doubted there were any.
She walked around, taking in the bodies with ripped throats or their hearts half way across the room. Bile rose in her throat but she held it down.
"Rose! Come in here." She ran towards Dimitri's voice where he was pointing at a screen. He had rewound it to where Bonnie had come in.
An elderly lady waddled in with a small dog and Bonnie at her side. He sped it up more to where Bonnie was sitting on floor, playing with the dog, when the front doors were slammed open. Almost ten Strigoi walked in.
Immediately the police had their guns trained on them and the woman put Bonnie, who was still holding the dog, behind her own body. The Strigoi sped around the building, draining people, ripping their hearts or throats out. It was horrifying.
Until they got to the old woman. She said something to them, which made them all laugh before they grabbed her and just snapped her neck. Bonnie screamed, or what looked like it, and tried to run away.
The leader of the Strigoi, the one that had pinned Marrie to her house, grabbed Bonnie and ripped the dog out of her hands.
Bonnie screamed something and the Strigoi gave it back before walking out of the station like nothing had happened. The last Strigoi laughed before kicking Bonnie's trembling figure and walking out.
"They left her. Dimitri, they left her!" Marrie ran around the station screaming Bonnie's name.
"Mommy? Mommy!" something small and wet flung themselves at her legs. She looked down to see Bonnie with that dog in her arms.
"Bonnie! I missed you so much!" Marrie dropped to her knees and hugged Bonnie closely.
"Why did they leave you?" she asked, holding her daughter closer. She was never going to let this happen again. This was what Marrie needed to stop being a blood whore. She needed to protect Bonnie.
"I told them that in Russia there are more kids like me." Bonnie stated proudly.
"What do you mean like you?" Marrie looked up to see Dimitri standing there, his posture stiff.
"Bonnie, why don't you go grab your dogs leash." I suggested. She looked at the both of them before nodding and running to the front of the building, where Marrie could see her through the hallway.
"Well?" Dimitri hissed at her.
"Bonnie doesn't have normal blood. To be honest, she doesn't have a blood type." Marrie muttered.
"What? How!" he nearly yelled. Marrie looked up to see him with wild eyes. She had never seen him like this; it was like he had totally changed.
To the Strigoi him. She slowly backed into the wall, clutching it like it was a life support. Dimitri seemed to realize what he was doing so he backed away.
"Bonnie's dad wasn't moroi. I lied," Marrie decided to tell him the truth. If he didn't except it, oh well. It would be like the last five years. "He was a . . . Strigoi."
Dimitri blinked before turning and walking away.
"Hey!" she ran after him.
"Not now Rose. You can't just say something like that and except me to be all good with it!" he yelled, turning around to face her.
Marrie never knew what happened after that, but old Rose came up and spoke.
"No, I don't! I except you to stay around and ask questions like the old Dimitri! What the fuck happened to you? You're not the man I fell in love with!" she screamed.
He blinked before taking a few steps closer, "Roza, I changed. A lot. I can't forgive myself for what I did to you! That was horrible and . . ."
He suddenly trailed off, his eyes going between Bonnie and Marrie before he stumbled back with wide eyes.
He knew. He had finally figured out that Bonnie was his.
