Lissa led Bonnie up the stairs and helped her get into the bath. When Dimitri had came back with a smiling Rose and Bonnie, Lissa nearly screamed in happiness. She's wanted this ever since she found out that Rose was alive.
"Mind telling me what this is about?" she heard Christian ask as she came down the stairs. Rose was sitting on the couch with Dimitri with Janine, Christian, and Adrian on the separate chairs across from them. Lissa quickly sat down in Christian's lap. She didn't want to miss a thing.
"I lied about . . . Bonnie's father." Rose began but Janine cut her off.
"Of course you did. What else would I expect?" she hissed.
Rose frowned, "Mom, just listen then you'll understand why I did what I did."
Janine huffed but never the less let Rose continue.
"After I left the school, I went to Russia to hunt Dimitri down and stake him. After a while I hunted with a couple un-promised Dhampirs and that's when Dimitri found me. He knocked me out and kept me captive in a Strigoi hide out. A couple things turned into another and soon enough we had sex, "
Lissa gasped. Rose and Dimitri when he was Strigoi? Was that even possible?
"After that I escaped and came back to Montana, and I had been feeling sick so I went to the convenience store and . . . I bought a couple pregnancy tests. I was puking in the morning and after that I would feel just great."
Bonnie. This explained it all. Rose found out she was pregnant with a Strigoi's child and stayed away!
"The tests turned out positive so I moved to Milaca and bought a house. But . . . the pregnancy wasn't normal. Within one week I looked like I was nine months pregnant. I was pale and week. I couldn't walk around the house without me needing something to hold onto. I . . . I finally went to the doctor. She was a moroi and she helped me throughout the last two days."
Rose hesitated.
"Well?" Adrian asked. Lissa glared at him. Show some respect, would ya'?
"I had Bonnie, but I had to have a C-Section and I didn't have enough blood. Bonnie had been drinking my blood and I was too weak to live. The doctor she was a spirit user. She tried to save me but . . . she said I saved myself. That I somehow made it through when I should have died."
Lissa gaped. Bonnie had been drinking Rose's blood. That proved she was half Strigoi. What else could Bonnie do?
"I lost the bond that day. I couldn't feel you, Lissa; I couldn't get into your head or anything. It was strange. The doctor, Astra Broxly, helped me and Bonnie settle down but then she went crazy like Ms. Karp. She tried to kill Bonnie so I killed her."
Rose broke off and started to sob. Lissa gaped. Poor Rose, she had to kill her friend. Lissa knew that if she had been in that position, she would have done the same thing. Anything for her kid's.
Marrie broke off as she tried to fight off the memory that kept trying to pop up. She thought of happy memories but it didn't help. Finally, she just let it take over.
"Astra?" Rosa called as she walked into the house. She had been out grocery shopping so Astra was watching over Bonnie.
Bonnie's screaming filled the house and Rose quickly dropped the bags and ran into the nursery. Astra was holding Bonnie and had a kitchen knife digging into Bonnie's back, right into her spine.
"No!" Rose tried to run forward but the crib flew up from where it had been and flung itself at Rose.
"What are you doing?" Rose screamed as she stumbled off the ground.
"She is a demon! She needs to be killed. I brought this thing into the world, I can take it out!" Astra hissed, her brown hair swaying back and forth as wind picked up in the room and all the furniture started to hurl itself at Rose.
She ducked as the dresser flew over her head and quickly crawled out of the nursery before running to her room, grabbing her gun, and running back into the nursery.
The knife was halfway through Bonnie's back and Rose knew it was too late. There was nothing she could do for her child. Anger, all Rose could feel was anger so she raised the gun and fired it off.
Astra's hazel eyes widened for a split second before her body fell to the ground where blood seeped out of the wound in her head. The furniture fell to the ground as well.
"Bonnie! No, baby, please!" Rose sobbed as she crawled over to where her baby was laying silently in Astra's still arms.
"Bonnie?" Rose picked Bonnie up and ripped the knife out of her back. Her baby! Rose sobbed and hugged Bonnie close to her. Her last piece of love. Bonnie was all that reminded Rose of the old Dimitri, the Dhampir one. Before all things went shitty.
Rose took a deep breath and looked down at Bonnie. She could . . . what? The knife hole in Bonnie's back was healing! Bonnie suddenly let out a shrill cry and started to fling her arms and legs out.
"Bonnie! Oh, I love you so much!" Rose sobbed, hugging Bonnie closer to her. She was okay. Her baby was okay.
Marrie jumped out of her memory and started to shake. Bonnie had died but healed. She came back. That was the worst day of Marrie's life. After that, she changed her name to Marrie Brox, in honor of Astra, and moved out that house.
"Rose?" for the first time since coming back. Marrie called herself Rose, and answered to that name. She looked up and smiled at her friend's.
"Things are going to change." She stated.
I believe this is my longest chapter, for this story. It's 1,004 words long. Wow! Like? Don't Like? Review!
