The guests were beginning to arrive and Wilhelmina's heart was racing. Damn that man! Insisting that they "proclaim their love" in front of their friends and family. More along the lines of rubbing it in Daniel's face. Since Betty's rejection of him, he had been pretty low. It was starting to worry even her. But here she was in a white, custom Vera Wang about to become Mrs. Connor Owens. She loved him, but did he have to make everything such a spectacle? And she thought that she was a drama queen. But she was worried. What if Connor left her? What if everything went wrong? What if- But she was cut off from her thoughts when Marc had leaped out in front of the red silk curtain seperating her and the guests in a very gay fashion.
"Willlie, oh my god! You look so beautiful, even for you! And you're glowing! Did you know that you're glowing? You look so young and vibrant! And did you see Connor? He is looking so ama-zing! Connor's mother, Rachael looks awful, of course! She chose to wear white! To your big day! Can you believe-"
She cut him off, "Marc!"
"Yes, Wilmester?" Obviously not letting anything spoil his good mood.
"Is it time?"
"Aw, Willie! You're scared. It's going to be okay." He slowly put his arms around her waist, soothingly running his hands up and down her arms.
"I know that! But Marc is it time?"
"Come on, Wils!"
He began to walk her out of the room and down the aisle. She looked around, avoiding Connor's gaze. She saw Betty sitting next to that sandwich guy, Amanda was snuggled up against Matt Hartley, Claire was winking at her, and Daniel was moping. She slowly began to look up at Connor. He was smiling at her like she had never seen him smile and in his eyes were a look of pure adoration and love. She could do this, she thought to herself. He loves me. He will never leave me.
Her walk down the aisle was threw. Marc kissed her on both cheeks, weeping. Connor reached out and grabbed her hand. He squeezed it reassuringly as the priest began to speak about marriage, love, and God.
"Do you Connor Owens take this woman to be you lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do!"
"Do you Wilhelmina Slater take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do."
Then, by the power vested in me by the state of New York, I may now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss your wife."
Connor reached out and spun her, lovingly placing his lips on hers. He, then procedded to dip her as their kiss ended.
Applause erupted through the audience. And she knew, right then and there in St. Patricks Cathedreal that her and Connor were going to be fine. That they loved each other and that they were forever.
