Hello Everyone! Crescent Rider here, and I am here with a new One Piece Story. But before you all start with the story, I will tell you all this.
This isn't my first writing a One Piece Story since I still have my 'Red Devil of the Seas' Story that I haven't worked on for almost 3 Years.
The reason behind this is due to the sudden loss of interest in the series, or due to the circumstances that I made me forget this series in the first place. Such as School or Family Events.
But now that I remember, I will work on that too, and I will stop once reach six chapters and move on to a different story. The same applies to this story.
And lastly, this story is inspired by Free Heart by duaba. If any of you don't know the story, I highly recommend you all read it.

Somewhere in the Grand Line
A Pirate Ship is currently on a voyage to Sabaody as the Captain and his crew plan on venturing to the other side of the Grand Line and seek the Legendary 'One Piece' after Former Pirate King Gold Roger was executed in Loguetown.
Meanwhile, in the Ship's cargo hold. There was a small cage that the pirates have kept in store and within it was a little girl with black hair, and dirty yet casual clothes sitting in the middle with her legs close to her chest and her eyes closed as if she was sleeping.
She had been like this for days, if not years, whenever she had herself captured by pirates. What's more, she seemed rather calm despite the circumstances of her situation.
But that all changed when she can hear cannon fire, the breaking of the ship's exterior, and the pirates letting out a battlecry as they fought back against another pirate ship or possibly a marine vessel that was unfortunate enough to encounter this pirate ship.
Especially when the Captain of this crew has a bounty of 50,000,000 Berries.
As the battle progressed, she could hear the sound of gunfire and clanging metal. But then she heard the cries of pirates as they were being taken down. For the girl, she paid no mind to it as she has seen and heard enough violence and death in her time as a prisoner.
Once everything went silent, she assumed that the pirates have been defeated, and what's follow is her being claimed by another band of pirates as part of the spoils. Just another occurrence in her life as a prisoner.
But that wasn't the case as she heard two separate footsteps marching within the Cargo Hold and a shadow towered over her. When she raises her head and opens her eyes, she was greeted by two tall people.
The first was a well-dressed man with a perpetual scowl on his face, a sword on his left hip, and a white coat over his shoulder. The second was a large and broad-chested old man with a beard, who wears a dog mask that covers his eyes, a black suit, a white long-sleeved shirt with the collar sticking out, and the same white coat on his shoulder.
The girl seemed confused since these people aren't pirates by the way they were dressed, but she did hear a conversation between the two.
"Bogard, find the captain of this ship and send him here," Bogard saluted and left to find the captain while Bogard's superior turns back to the cage, "As for you,"
He raises his fist and slams the cage hard which broke the hinges of the cage door. As he opens the door, he goes to pick the girl out of the cage and carries her in one of his arms rather easily.
By that time, Bogard had brought the ship's captain before his superior, "Vice Admiral Garp, I've brought the captain to you as you ordered,"
Garp groans and then towers before the pirate captain while keeping the girl close to his chest, "Nonase Lalemur, Captain of the Lemur Pirates. I am charging you with an additional offense of kidnapping. Therefore, you will be sent to Level 3 of Impel Down,"
"Eh?!" The Captain expressed shock in his charge, "What are you talking about?! I didn't kidnap her from a Noble! She came from another pirate ship that I plundered! I planned to bring her to Sabaody for being-"
This earned Garp's glare and proceeds to punch the Captain on the back of his head with his other hand. Causing the Captain's face to hit hard against the ship's floorboards.
Bogard then grasps the back of the Captain's head and brought him up to reveal his battered face to Garp before pulling his hand back.
"You bastard! This girl is not a slave, nor is she a nobleman's daughter," Garp yelled, "In fact, she's more important than the two. Because the charge for kidnapping is toward my Granddaughter!"
Captain was absolutely dumbfounded, and the same goes for Bogard. But he sighed at Garp's intention and tips his hat with his entire hand.
"W-What?! Grandaughter?! I didn't know she was-" The Captain doesn't get to finish as Garp yelled, "I'm the one talking here, so I suggest you answer every question I have about my Granddaughter,"
The girl, on the other hand, was mentally confused by Garp's words especially when he started calling her his granddaughter despite having no direct relation between them. But despite his words, she chose silence as Garp continued with his question, "Now, answer me this. What gave you the right to put my granddaughter into a small confined cage? It's either you tell me now or I send you to Level 4!"
The Captain stuttered at this question, "B-b-b-but she's your granddaughter. Shouldn't you know anything about-"
"Level 5!" Garp yelled, and the Captain screamed,
But before the latter could say anything, the girl decided to speak on his behalf, "Because I want to..."
Garp was a bit dumbfounded while Bogard and the Captain seemed utterly confused by this statement. Though Garp would question her instead of the Captain, "What do you mean you want to?"
"It's because..." The girl's hair then slowly changed from black to purple and the same goes for her eye color, "I didn't want to be a burden..."
"A burden? What do you mean by that?" Garp questioned,
"Sir, please pay attention to her hair. It changed color as soon as she spoke," Bogard noted, "It's possible that she's eaten a Devil Fruit,"
"A Devil Fruit, you say?" Garp inquired as he glanced at him, then turns back to the girl on his arm, "Is that why you didn't want to be a burden?"
"... Y-Yes," The girl anxiously replied,
Garp stares at the girl for a while, then lets out a laugh that confused the girl as she raised her head towards him, "What a special girl you are. Tell me, what kind of Devil Fruit did you stumble upon?"
"Um... I-I don't know, but it looked like an Orange with curves all over it," The girl replied,
"An Orange with Curves, Huh? I'm sure we'll find out what is it," Garp said, "In the meantime, I'll sort out this pirate and go on a vacation. Take you to meet my other grandkids, which reminds me, how old are you?"
"M-Me? I-I'm..." The girl trails off for a moment, and she slowly changes to yellow. Once it turns completely yellow, she replies to his question with a different tone, "I'm 9 Years Old,"
Garp grunts in confusion at the sudden change of tone, but put it aside as he dons a grin on his face, "9, Huh? Two Years older than my Grandson. That settles it, I'm taking you in as my next grandchild,"
He then lets out a laugh, and the girl just stares at him. But as she stares, her lips slowly form a smile, then a short chuckle, and finally, a closed eye laughs as if she had joined him.
Garp stops as he took notice, but grins at the ever-laughing girl. With such a wild personality, his decision was final and this marked the day of the girl's adoption.
Dawn Island, East Blue
A couple of months have come to pass and Garp finally receives his vacation and arrives in his hometown, Foosha Village. Once he sets foot on the dock, the girl follows behind him with an encyclopedia book of Devil Fruits in her arms.
As soon as they walked their way into town, practically everyone in the village greeted Garp and they all seem thrilled to see him. But when some of the villagers saw the girl, that's when the question started and the latter turns to every villager who stares at her.
"Hey, uh. Who's the girl with you, Garp?"
"Yeah, we've never seen her before,"
"And this is the first time you've brought someone with you,"
"Oh her?" Garp placed his hand on top of the girl's head, and gently ruffled her hair a few times, "She's my granddaughter,"
All of the villagers went silent for a time, then they express their surprise as they hang their jaws open and their eyes bulging at the two. Causing the girl to inch a little closer to Garp as the villagers comment on their reaction.
In addition, some of the girl's blond hair was slowly changing from blond to silver. Which, Garp took notice and action to the entire village, "Will you all be quiet!"
The villagers complied as they stopped expressing their comments, and Garp bends down to give the girl a few pats on the head, "It's alright, No need to be shy. These are good people, and you'll get along with them just fine,"
The girl blinks a few times, then nods as her hair goes back to blond, and smiles afterward. Garp smiles back and straightens himself from the ground. Then a green-haired lady walks up to the two, "It's so nice to see you again, Garp. I hope you've been well throughout your voyage,"
"Ah, Makino. Just the person I want to see," Garp said, "Have you seen my Grandson by any chance? I'd like to introduce him to his new older sister,"
"He's probably running around here somewhere," Makino said, "But I think you'll find him soon enough,"
"Alright, in that case, I'd like you to watch over my granddaughter while I find him. Give her some food and drinks on my tab, will you?" Garp requested,
"Sure thing," Makino said, then she offers her hand to the girl, "Would you like to come with me?"
"Okay," The girl responded, and takes Makino's hand as she was being escorted to the village bar. In the meantime, Garp decided to go find his grandson. Though he did receive a tip about his grandson wanting to be a pirate after he met the Captain of the Red Haired Pirates, 'Red Hair' Shanks, much to his frustration.
Partys Bar
After Makino brought the girl into the bar, she served her some food and juice and the latter happily ate the food in a well-mannered way. When the girl finished chewing, she grabs a glass of juice, takes a few sips, and eats after the food goes down.
Makino smiled at the girl's manners and watches as the food goes by. But as soon as the girl finishes, Garp returned and on his hand was a young boy with a stretchy face as the former held him.
The girl turns to Garp and becomes somewhat curious about the boy he's holding. So curious that her blond hair became lighter than its regular color. Though Garp doesn't mind this as he drops him onto the floor.
"Luffy, I want you to behave since you're being introduced to your new sister," Garp said, and his grandson, Luffy, makes eye contact with the girl, "Now say hello to Monkey D. Nadia,"
Luffy picks himself up, and raised his hand as part of his greeting, "Yo!"
"Likewise," Nadia greeted back, and her curiosity fades as her hair reverts back to normal,
But when Luffy notices this, he immediately becomes fascinated and stars appeared in his eyes, "WOAH!"
Nadia was caught off guard by this, and her hair changed from blond to silver in a matter of seconds. Further earning Luffy's interest as he rushes up to sit next to her, and stares at her hair, "You can change the color of your hair! That's so cool! What else can you change?! Can you change your body as well?! Oh! What about your-"
Before he could continue with his questions further, Garp walks up to Luffy and proceeds to punch him on the top of his head and into the hardboard floor much to Nadia's discomfort, "I've told you to behave to your new sister! Not pester her with ridiculous questions!"
Garp then turns to Nadia while Luffy holds onto the bump on his head, "Are you alright?"
"I-I'm fine, It just came out of nowhere..." Nadia replied while her hair turns to dark orange,
"That's a color I haven't seen, how are you really feeling right now?" Garp questioned,
"Um... I don't know to be honest," Nadia responded, and Garp nods as if he knew the answer already,
"Hey! Why do you get to ask her while I don't!" Luffy angrily yelled while still holding onto the bump on his head,
Before Garp responds to his question, he grabs one side of Luffy's face and held him up while stretching half of his face like rubber. The very sight had made the tips of Nadia's hair turn grey as she grew a bit uncomfortable while Garp scolds his grandson, "That's because you're being disrespectful to your grandpa's orders! You are going to be a marine and that is final, do you hear me!"
"I told you a bunch of times! I want to become a pirate!" Luffy argued, "And when I become a pirate, I want to be the King of the Pirates!"
Hearing these words from a child somehow surprised Nadia, especially when her hair goes from dark orange to light blond. Hence, she became a little interested in what this boy really wanted in life.
"That's a beautiful color, Nadia," Makino commented as the two boys argued with one another,
"Huh?" Nadia turns to Makino,
"Though I've never seen someone deliberately changing their color before. But that color suits better than what I've seen today," Makino commented,
"R-Really?" The tips of Nadia's hair then change to light pink, as she averts her eyes from Makino, "T-Thanks, I guess..."
Makino giggled at the tone of her voice, then proceeds with the biggest question she has in mind, "Tell me, did you eat a Devil Fruit like Luffy?"
The light pink tips disappear almost instantaneously, and Nadia whips her head toward her, "Devil Fruit? You're saying that Luffy had eaten a Devil Fruit as well?"
"That's right, and it was before you or Garp got here too," Makino said, then went on to explain the details,
Apparently, The Red Haired Pirates, the ones that inspired Luffy to become a pirate himself, had robbed an enemy ship that held the Devil Fruit known as the Gum-Gum Fruit. After an incident between the pirates and some mountain bandits, Luffy was mad at Shanks for not standing against the mountain bandit and planned to ignore him.
But that's when it happened when Luffy's arm suddenly stretched when Shanks casually grabbed his wrist to stop him. Apparently, Luffy didn't know that it was Devil Fruit until it was too late.
As proof of this encounter, Shanks had given his Straw Hat to Luffy and the latter said something about a promise between them. A promise that Luffy would bring the Straw Hat back to him after he had become a great pirate.
For once, Nadia seemed intrigued to know more about this boy and his intention to become the King of the Pirates. But before she could ask anything about his desire for Makino, the argument between Garp and his grandson had come to an end and the former walks up to Nadia while Luffy onto one side of his cheek
"Nadia, Since this village isn't well suited for my grandson to live in with all these pirates running around. I've decided that this village isn't well suited for you as well," Garp concluded, "That's why I'll be taking you and your new brother to an old friend's place where there aren't any pirates to influence either of you two,"
Nadia goes off her seat, goes to Garp, and turns to Makino to give the latter a bow, "Thank you for the meal, Miss Makino,"
"My pleasure, Nadia," Makino said with a closed eye smile, "And come by whenever you want to eat again,"
Nadia bows once more and took off as Garp escorted her and Luffy to a certain place. Somewhere deep within the forest...
A Couple Minutes Later...
The three pressed on, and Nadia stuck close to Garp as her hair turned violet. As for Luffy, he was still complaining about Garp's decision as well as questions how he could feel his painful grip despite being made of Rubber.
Amid the argument, Luffy tries to resist by wrapping his arms around a chest and holding onto it while Garp keeps on pulling. In a matter of moments, the tree Luffy was holding had been pulled right off of the ground and crashed against Garp's back while Nadia instinctively jumps to the side to avoid the tree.
In the end, The three soon reached the end of a pathway and a large but worn-out house was in sight. Luffy stands a few meters away while Nadia is stuck close to Garp as usual.
Garp keeps knocking on the door while Luffy wanders around the area. By the time someone answers the door, Garp was met with an angry orange-haired lady, "Hey, Shut the hell up!"
Nadia gasped as she was startled as her hair turned grey, and hides behind Garp's leg as the lady continued, "Whatever your selling I don't want none?!"
"Dadan!," Garp specified,
The lady opens her eyes, gasps then shrieks as she took several steps back, "Garp, What are you doing here!?"
Then two other people appeared behind the lady and gasped at Garp standing by their door.
"Charming as ever," Garp casually remarked, while Nadia peeked at the trio,
"Sorry for the cold welcome. But I hope you don't have another ridiculous favor to ask us," Dadan said, "You realize Ace is already 10, right?"
"Oh is he now? And how is the little scab doing? Good?" Garp inquired, and lets out a chuckle,
"He's a handful, of course. And we've been watching over the brat for long enough," The short Mountain Bandit pointed out, "So just take him away,"
"Nevermind," Garp said, much to the short Mountain Bandit's annoyance,
"Yeah, that's the problem! We do mind," The Short Mountain Bandit pointed out while Dadan was eyeing Luffy running around,
"And speaking of brats, Will you shut that one up!" Dadan demanded,
Garp grabs Luffy from the back of his shirt and lifted him before the three, "They're yours now,"
The three mountain bandits were in utter confusion while Garp brought Luffy close to him, "Hey, Luffy. Tell 'em hello,"
"Yo!" Luffy greeted while raising his hand at them,
"Wait a sec, who is he?" The Large Mountain Bandit questioned,
"He's my grandson," Garp introduced,
The three mountain bandits widen their eyes, and shrieked from the top of their lungs, "WHAT?!"
"I've never heard about this?!" The short Mountain Bandit exclaimed,
"And you want us to take care of the little monster- Uh, Little Darling, I mean?!" Dadan assumed, then catches on to what Garp had just said, "Wait on hold for a moment. What do you mean 'they'?"
"Oh right," Garp turns to Nadia hiding behind his left leg, "Don't be shy now. Go on and introduce yourself,"
Nadia slowly peeked out from Garp's leg and looked shyly at them, "H-Hi,"
"Huh? Don't tell me..." Dadan presumed as she looked discouraged as it is,
"You got it, she's my Granddaughter," Garp stated,
The three shrieked once more, and the short Mountain Bandit complained once more, "Another one!"
"You want us to take in not one, but two little monsters, I mean little darlings?!" Dadan questioned, then three replied simultaneously, "WELL NO WAY!"
"Fine, I'll give you two choices. You can either raise my Grandkids or you can spend your entire life in prison," Garp proposed, "Pretty generous considering all the crimes you've committed,"
While Garp lets out a chuckle, the three responded with, "NO FAIR!"
"The thing is, I'd rather stay out of the slammer," The Large Mountain Bandit stated,
"Frankly, if you ask me that on one of Ace's bad days. I might have to go to the prison option after all," The Short Mountain Bandit said,
"And three brats?! Yeah, I don't think so," Dadan said, "Those kids look like real charmers too,"
"Like your face?!" Luffy insulted,
"You wanna fight, you little punk?!" Dadan yelled but was ignored as Luffy chased after some dragonflies, causing the former tilts too far from the right and hit her head against the ground,
Nadia grew concerned about Dadan just as the other two Mountain Bandits showed theirs. But then she heard Luffy yell out in disgust and his cheek was spat on,
When he and Nadia turned toward the one responsible, they saw another kid holding a long pipe and sitting on what appeared to be some large animal.
As soon as Garp heard Luffy complaining, he turns and spots the boy, "Hey, There he is!"
"Huh? Oh, Hello, Ace! Welcome back!" The Large Mountain Bandit greeted,
Luffy was angrily waiting for an apology from Ace while Garp walked toward Luffy's side. Not taking his eyes off of Ace while Nadia follows behind Garp, "Luffy, Nadia. This here is Ace, here's a few years older than you two. Anyway, you two are going to be living here with him and Dadan from now on,"
"What?! Not so fast," Dadan yelled while the other two Mountain Bandits expressed their disbelief,
Luffy was angrily gritting his teeth at Ace while Nadia just stared at the latter. A couple of moments later, her hair changed from grey to light blond. Something that the Dadan and the other two Mountain Bandits took notice of.
A while later, Garp bonked Luffy's head, "You play nice,"
"WE SAID NO!" Dadan and the other two Mountain Bandits yelled,
Garp gives a menacing look at them, and growls the following words, "You'll do it,"
The three went pale from the look of Garp's eyes, shrieked in utter fright, then straighten themselves at him, "Sir! As you wish, Sir!"
"Well, time to hit the road. I'll stop by when I have time," Garp declared, and Nadia turns to him
"What about some child support?" The Short Mountain Bandit asked,
"Put it on my tab," Garp stated,
"This isn't a bar," Dadan remarked,
"Huh?" Garp asked,
"Nothing! Come back soon!" Dadan said,
"You're going already, Grandpa?" Nadia asked, and Garp turns to her.
When he did, he noticed that her hair had changed from Light Blond to Blue. Causing Garp to sigh as he scratches the back of his head before bending down to her level, "Listen well, Nadia. I know you don't want me to leave you here all alone. But you don't have to worry about a thing since you've got Luffy, Ace, and even Dadan to look after you,"
Garp then patted her on the head a few times, and made his signature grin to her, "So don't you worry about being alone. Cause they'll be there for you when I'm not around,"
Nadia's mouth was slightly open, then her hair changed to golden yellow, "I will!"
Garp chuckles, stands upstraight, and walks away. As he was meters away, Nadia waves her hand at Garp, "Bye, Grandpa!"
Garp doesn't look back, but he does wave back at her until he was no longer in sight. Once Nadia lowers her hand, she walks up to Dadan and gives a close-eyed smile.
The latter and the two mountain bandits seem confused at Nadia's sudden bright personality, but they sighed at the situation and reluctantly took her and Luffy in as per Garp's request.
Hence, marking the day of Nadia's start with her new brother as well as a journey that she would never expect in her life...
That is it for this chapter, everyone! And as I said before, I promise that I'll update the old One Piece Story as I go by with this one.
And if anyone asks what Nadia's Devil Fruit is. I will reveal its name in the future.
Lastly, you may all notice that I started far rather than at the very start of the series. But I am considering whether I should continue this arc or jump right on ahead where Luffy departs from Dawn Island to become a Pirate.
