Star Force Ark, Chapter 1: The Moment That Changed Destiny

We all know the story of Mega Man. Of the young boy, Geo Stellar, who fought time and time again to protect the Earth and his friends. And it all started on the day he met Omega-Xis, his trusted partner, at Vista Point. But... what if the events of that fateful encounter were different, and instead of Geo, Omega-Xis met with someone else, someone who wasn't really supposed to be there in the first place?

Like he did every night, Geo stood at Vista Point, this time wearing the Visualizer that he had received that morning. Geo spoke with himself as if he was talking with his father, and after a few moments, he pulled the visualizer over his eyes. But a few moments later, an irritated look came over him.

"Who am I kidding?", Geo said as he pulled off the Visualizer and dropped them. "As if these things could just magically show me where you are." Geo turned to walk off before pausing and looking back at the Visualizer. Oddly, despite having been dropped onto hard steel, they didn't have a single crack on them. However, instead of going back and picking them up, he just gave a sigh and walked off.

Unknown to Geo, someone else happened to be in Vista Point. Luna, who had tried to get him to return to school earlier that day, had also gone to Vista Point for her own reasons. Noticing that Geo was there as well, she decided to hide and watch, witnessing the entire event. After he walked off, she walked up to where Geo had stood. "What was with him...?", she asked herself as she picked up the Visualizer.

Looking it over, she decided to try them on on a whim, but as they slid over her eyes, a beeping sound came from her Transer, prompting her to open it up. "What the... an access signal? But whose... ...! It's getting closer..." Before she could properly react, she suddenly felt a strong electrical surge coursing throughout her body, causing her vision to momentarily go white as she collapsed.

A few moments later, Luna groaned as she regained consciousness, only to see something floating above her. Its body appeared to be mostly made of green electricity, but it also seemed to have a metallic blue armor-like upper body with its head or helmet or whatever it was appearing animal-like with red eyes. "Wasn't he supposed to be here?", it asked as it looked around.

Startled, Luna immediately moved back to distance herself from it. "W-w-w-what the heck?! W-what on Earth are you?!", she asked, catching its attention as she looked above it, "A-And why are there suddenly strange roads in the sky?!"

"Hang on, you can see me?", it asked, which Luna only nodded in response. "That's odd... humans shouldn't be able to see me, since I'm made up of energy." Looking back at Luna, it noticed the Visualizer she was wearing. "Those glasses... Maybe those are what's letting you see me."

"H-Huh?" Momentarily forgetting her fear, Luna moved the Visualizer to her forehead, and sure enough, the strange creature and roads vanished, and when she put them back over her eyes, they reappeared. "Y-Yeah, that seems to be the case... but this didn't happen earlier... Maybe when I got zapped earlier... Ah!" Remembering the situation, Luna got up and got into a defensive stance. "Wh-Who are you, anyway?! A-And why are you here?"

Intrigued by Luna's bravery, it decided to answer. "My name is Omega-Xis. But humans tend to get it wrong, so just call me 'Mega'. I'm from Planet FM, so I'm what you humans call an 'alien', I guess. But to me, you guys are the real aliens!" Before Omega-Xis could continue, Luna felt the ground tremble below her for a moment, catching her attention and annoying the FM-ian. "They're here already?", it said as it looked over to the entrance to Vista Point.

Confused, Luna looked over as well to see that the train that had always sat beside the entrance was now blocking it entirely, to her shock. "What in the?!" Surprised, Luna quickly rushed over to where the train now sat, with Omega-Xis following her. "Why is the train suddenly blocking off the entrance?!"

"EM viruses from Planet FM.", Omega-Xis stated, "They're going to destroy the town with that." Shocked and confused, Luna turned to Omega-Xis for a moment before looking back at the train.

"P-Planet FM... D-Didn't you say you were-", Luna began as she looked back at Omega-Xis.

"Hey, don't get the wrong idea.", Omega-Xis cut her off, "I'm here to stop them, not help them." Luna scratched her head in response before noticing that it seemed to be deep in thought. "The only way to stop that train is to go into it and delete those EM viruses... Guess I don't have a choice. I'll have to lend you my power to deal with them." It then transformed into a small ball of light and flew into Luna's Transer, catching her off guard.

"Wha- hey, don't just enter my Transer like that without permission!", Luna said, prompting a "hmph" from the FM-ian. "Anyway, what exactly did you mean by lending me your power?"

"It's a bit complicated, but for this to work, you need to follow my instructions.", Omega-Xis began, "You humans have those card force things, right?"

"H-Huh? O-Oh, yeah, we do.", Luna replied as she grabbed a card from her pocket and and pulled it out, "Wait, this one's blank."

"No, wait, that blank card's perfect for what I'm about to do.", Omega-Xis said, to Luna's confusion. Omega-Xis then let out a yell, and in that moment, the blank card began to glow, to Luna's surprise. "Next, we've gotta find a wavehole!" Seeing Luna's confusion, Omega-Xis elaborated. "It's where a chunk of space has been warped into a whirlpool shape! I bet you can see them with those glasses."

"A whirlpool...?", Luna began before looking around. Eventually, she found an orange whirlpool sitting beside the metal balcony. "Ah, there!"

As Luna ran up to the whirlpool, Omega-Xis continued. "Once you're inside the wavehole, swipe the card I made. You'll also need to shout 'EM Wave Change!', followed by your full name, then 'On The Air!' For example, if it were the kid I was expecting, it would be 'EM Wave Change! Geo Stelar, On The Air!'"

"Geo...?", Luna asked as she stopped in the middle of the wavehole, "No, now's not the time to ask about that." With Omega-Xis mentioning lending her its power, as well as this "EM Wave Change" thing, she had a faint suspicion of what to expect, but the only way to know for sure was to actually go through with it. Taking a moment to mentally prepare herself, she slid the newly created card into her Transer. "EM Wave Change! Luna Platz, On The Air!"

*To Be Continued*

Author's notes: Okay, so, I finally got around to making the Redux version of this chapter. One thing I want to bring up is that in the original version of this chapter, I had Omega-Xis recognize the Visualizer when he noticed it, but as I was making this Redux chapter and rewatching the Mega Man Star Force playthrough I was basing this story on, I realized that didn't make much sense, since canon Omega-Xis didn't recognize them, so I went and changed that.

Also, you're probably noticing that I slightly changed the formatting from the original story. The original had the dialogue all smooshed together, and even though I had gotten criticism about it in the past (from other stories as well, I'm pretty sure), I brushed it off with several excuses that, honestly, were pretty dumb in hindsight. However, I recently found a post on Grammargeddon through Google that I'm actually referencing for this new format, so hopefully you guys enjoy this.
