Missing scenes between ep 24x16 and 24x17

She felt sick to her stomach. Velasco had called her multiple times, text her as well but she wasn't allowed to answer. Fins advice, focus on the job.

She had managed to do just that, not wanting to piss off Benson and risk her job.

Later that night, there was a knock on her door, "Coming" she yelled, getting up from her couch and making her way over to see who could possibly be there at 8 o'clock at night. Teddy had gone out with a girl he'd met a few nights back so she had the place to herself until later.

Looking through the peep hole she felt instantly nervous inside seeing her partner standing on the other side of the door. Opening the door, she spoke first "Velasco! What are you doing? You shouldn't be here!"

"I know, I just…I wanted to make sure you were okay. I don't know how much you know, and I know Benson told you not to talk to me but you're my partner….I…" He trailed off with pleading eyes.

She grabbed his arm and dragged him inside, quickly closing the door. As soon as he turned to face her, she wrapped her arms around his neck. His arms tightened around her waist pulling her close and they both sighed. Muncy didn't know exactly how or when she had started having feelings for Velasco but everything about him was intoxicating, she'd never met anyone like him before.

"When are you coming back to work?" She pulled back slightly, looking up at him.

"I'm back tomorrow. Just wanted to make sure we were okay" He was holding his hands on her waist and it felt so damn good.

"Of course we are. I'm just pissed at this whole situation. If Churlish just kept her mouth shut none of this would have happened" She pulled away, shaking her head and walking over to her kitchen counter. Velasco followed her over.

"Want a beer?" She asked, moving towards her fridge.

"Yeah sure, thanks" He confirmed, sitting on one of the stools at the counter.

She brought them both a beer and sat down next to him.

"I just wanted you to know that I'm handling it and Benson knows everything. I don't want you to worry okay? And when I can, I'll tell you everything" He reassured her, clinking his beer with hers before putting it to his lips. She smiled back at him before taking a sip of hers.

"Just don't do anything stupid. I don't wanna have to come to rescue your ass if you get in trouble" She joked, smirking up at him.

He laughed. "I'll keep that in mind".

They talked until they'd finished their beers before Velasco spoke. "I should probably head home", sliding off the stool and standing up. Muncy followed suit, nodding in agreement.

"Thanks for checking in" she spoke, turning to face him as they approached the door.

He leaned in and kissed her cheek softly before saying "Night cowgirl, I'll see you in the morning". He was gone before she could even comprehend what just happened.

The next morning came around and they were back in the swing of things. Benson had ordered them both to paperwork duty all day to catch up on the last few days worth.

The day flew which was nice after the long week they'd both previously had.

Velasco looked up at the clock seeing that they only had 10 minutes left.

"Hey you wanna grab a drink? We're finished in 10" He smiled over at her across the desk.

"Sure thing, I'm basically finished, just gotta file this last report", smiling back at him.

Sitting at the local bar, drinking and making small talk before Muncy's phone went off.

"Ah my little brother just texted me" She said whilst texting her brother back.

"Okay…what's his name? Terry? Timmy?" He spoke back whilst watching the sport that was on.

She laughed, "Teddy…and he's in the neighbourhood and wants to stop by if that's cool?"

He turned to her, "What does it matter what I think? It seems like you already told him yes?"

"Well what can I say? He wants to meet ya" She was feeling giddy about her brother meeting her partner for the first time. Teddy had come home last night shortly after Velasco left her place and saw the two beer bottles on the counter top, teasing her about having a guy over. She'd told him he was this guy she worked with, but Teddy could see the spark in her eyes and knew there was something more.

Velasco suddenly amused turning to face her, "So does that mean you've been talking about me?"

Muncy laughed, "Don't flatter yourself". The flirting between them had gotten stronger and stronger each day and she had never felt this way about any guy before, even if he was kinda off bounds, being her partner and all.

The bar door opened and Muncy turned her attention to who had just walked through the door. 'Great. Churlish' she thought.

"What is the IAB princess doing here?"

Velasco put his drink down and turned towards her. He had to try and talk some sense into her as he knew Benson wouldn't keep putting up with the both of them squabbling in her precinct.

"Alright. I'm gonna tell you something" He started.

"Nope" She said, playing on her phone as a distraction.

"I'm still gonna tell you". She scoffed, looking at him now crossing her arms.

"Relax. About Churlish." He said, seriously.

"After she ratted you out to Benson? Are you serious? Gimme one good reason" She said, not believing what she was hearing.

"I'll give you two. Benson likes her and Bruno trusts her"

"Do you?" She asked.

"She's a white shield who made a mistake" He knew where she was coming from but everyone makes mistakes and he wasn't the type to hold grudges. "Look, I appreciate you sticking up for me, but we gotta move past this cause it looks like she's gonna be around for a while and I don't think Benson will put up with the two of you hating on each other much longer" He said. He saw Bruno talking to Churlish over at the bar and gave him a wave.

Muncy sighed and nodded. "Okay. Got it. I'll try not to be such a bitch"

Velasco smiled at her. "Good. So when's your brother gonna be here?"

"Ugh, he said he's only a few minutes away…oh there he is now, at the bar, talking to Churlish" she pointed out seeing the two chattering away.

Velasco didn't know much about Muncy's past but he did know she was very protective of her brother after her mother had passed away. After all she had basically raised him and he still lived with her.

"You and your bro, pretty close huh?" Velasco stated, not wanting to push too far.

Muncy knew she would open up to him sometime but she wasn't ready to tonight, not with everything else going on. "Yeah…after my mum passed away we were all each other had, we went through a lot of shit together" Velasco noticed her eyes starting to water and put his hand on her arm reassuringly.

"I'm here for you whenever you want to talk about it okay? I know you got a lot of pent up anger but sometimes it helps to talk about it" Velasco now had both hands on her arm, giving her a quick squeeze.

"How do you do that?" She asked, sniffling to try and stop the tears from actually falling.

"Do what?" He smirked. He knew exactly what she was talking about but he wanted to try and change the mood.

She shook her head. "Somehow manage to flip my mood around just like that" she said, clicking her fingers together. It was amazing the affect he had on her, she could be about to punch someone and the second he looked at her she just instantly calmed down.

"What can I say, I'm in touch with my emotions" She laughed at this comment, leaning back into her chair and grabbing her drink.

The rest of the night wasn't so bad after all. Teddy convinced Churlish to join his sister and Velasco for a drink, which turned into several drinks. The girls barely spoke a word to each other but between the four of them the conversation seemed to continue nevertheless.
