"Matsumoto" he says when he sees her about to open the door to go home
She turns around quickly
"Yes, captain? Is there anything you need?" Matsumoto says questionably
"Umm… Yes there is… can you come over here.." he says with a small blush appearing on his face
"Hai" Matsumoto chirps and walks over to him
"So, what do you need me to do?" she tilts her head slightly
"well, actually…"Hitsugaya starts to say before he is cut off
"Captain.. why are you blushing?" Matsumoto asks in a low voice, since she has never seen him blush before "kyah, captain is so cute when he's blushing" she accidentally says out loud, before she can say anymore she covers her mouth with her hand, "oh no.. what have I done?" she thinks
Haineko on the other hand…
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh my god aha I can't believe you said that out loud haha, wow, I thought you had more sense to keep these feelings to yourself and not share them with the one you love
"shut up Haineko…"
Matsumoto is blushing fiercely while in a discussion with Haineko

"Matsu…moto?" he furrows his eyebrows when he hears the comment and thinks "What does she mean by that…"
She means, what she said master " you look cute when your blushing"… not that hard to figure out master
"Obviously Hyourinmaru…. But still, why would she say that…." He gasps and blushes a shade deeper that the previous shade of red "does she actually like me?"

Just think of something, sorry old hag, but your on your own, besides think of it this way. He knows you like him now.. unless he doesn't have the brains to figure that out… but Hyourinmaru informed me that he's helping his master.. oops.. said to much, see ya around

Master, it's ok, shes not hurt, well not physically…
"WHAT?" he interrupts Hyourinmaru
Just think of it this way you know for sure that she likes you, it's become clearly obvious… unless your going into denial… which is totally understandable…
"I'm not going into denial… I'm just wondering why she.. she would seek after me, since I… dare I say it.. but I look like a child.. and Matsumoto…. Well she doesn't… why doesn't she go after someone else… like Kira.."
Master….
"or even Hisagi…" he shudders at the thought.. that man couldn't be within 2 feet of her without a nosebleed occurrence
Master… Hyourinmaru says impatiently
"Nah.. Kira would be better…"
MASTER! Hyourinmaru roars
"what..? Is something wrong?"
Only that Matsumoto has been looking at you with worried eyes… you've had a depressed expression plaster onto your face from what haineko can tell, for a couple of minutes

"what's going on with Taicho, Haineko?" Matsumoto says
"he's just having a talk with Hyourinmaru… that's all that Hyourinmaru will tell me… oh.. this would probably be random.. But did you know that all zanpakuto's minds are linked together.. so once we meet another zanpakuto their minds are connected with ours…
"what?... really?" Matsumoto sounds amazed "How come I didn't know about this before?"
Most shinigami don't… only soutaicho and a few other taicho's know about it… one being your taicho… the others are Unohana taicho, Kyoraku taicho, Ukitake taicho, and Byakuya taicho… and you…
Haineko's voice gets really serious BUT.. since you are the ONLY fukutaicho to know about it, I must forbid you to speak about it… or dire consequences will be at hand… understand?.. the only exceptions are to the captains I told you about…
"Hai"

"Matsumoto… after I get out of here… I need to speak with you about something…" I just need to figure out how to say it he adds in his mind
"Same here taicho…" Matsumoto fidgets nervously
"well, if you don't need anything else, I suppose I will leave… good night taicho"
"night…"

A few days later
"everything seems to be fine Hitsugaya taicho, you are free to go" Unohana smiles
"Thank you for everything… and I promise that I will pay the bill for the damages I caused…" he gets interrupted
"Don't worry about that, your division's budget is tight… since we don't spend much on repairs, our budget is overflowing… so to speak"
"Hai, well if everything is okay now, I will take my leave, good day Unohana taicho" Hitsugaya says as he goes out the door
Unohana smiles

After a few minutes of shunpo he gets to his division only to be greeted by his fukutaicho
"Oi, Matsumoto what's the meaning of this?" he asks when he gets picked up by her as she starts to shunpo off towards the west Rukongai district
She stays quiet
"Oi, are you listening to me?"
Silence…
"Matsumoto… put me down this instant…"
She stops when they get to the gate
"Can you open the gate please?"
"Sure"
He opens the gate
"Thank you"
"No problem"
"Matsumoto! Tell me where we are going…" Hitsugaya says out of annoyance
They stop in the middle of the woods
"Taicho…" matsumoto says quietly
"Tell me.. why are we here?"
"Well.. because I need to tell you something…" she starts off
"What is it…" he asks, starting to grow impatient
"I…well… I guess I'll start from the beginning… it will make sense.. I promise you" she says
"Wait, why are you telling me this now?"
"It all started when you became captain…"
