Mortal Kombat 11 Alternate Universe

Chapter 1: Beginning

Note: This is my first attempt at an AU. I thought about doing an AU of Mortal Kombat 11 for a while since it's one of my favorite games and first game in the series I've played. This is an AU of what if I had my own character in the story, role in the story, alignment, abilities, etc. Thought about this for more than a while since I joined an MK based Discord server. Just a heads up, I will not be including MK11 Aftermath. I retconned it out of existence. Instead it will go in a new direction. Part of this story takes place immediately after Shinnok's defeat and 3 years before 11. Once it gets to MK11, it will have many twists and turns. I have been writing for three years on Google Docs and decided to bring my stories here! Hope you enjoy!

Earthrealm has been saved once again. Shinnok has been defeated at the hands of Cassie Cage, daughter of Johnny Cage. She has inherited the same power as her father and overpowered Shinnok. Raiden has cleansed the Jinsei with his power, but at the cost of his personality shifting to a darker path. He wears different clothing, his lightning has changed to red and wears Shinnok's amulet. He speaks to the new revenant rulers of the Netherrealm: Liu Kang and Kitana.

"Too long I allowed Earthrealm to endure the horrors of war. Time and again we've defeated our enemies. But we've excated no retribution. Demanded no remuneration. What have we gained for our mercy? More intrigue. More senseless violence. As the new rulers of the Netherrealm, heed me. No longer will I simply defend Earthrealm. I will seek out and destroy all who threaten it. No mercy will be shown. No quarters given." Raiden speaks with a threatening tone.

Raiden opens up a bag and throws down the head of Shinnok, the now former master of the revenants. "Shinnok was an Elder God. Impossible to kill. There are fates worse than death." Raiden speaks his warning as he teleports away. Liu Kang and Kitana stand in front of Shinnok's head, shocked by what has become of their master.

Elsewhere, in a mysterious keep, lies a big hourglass with a human-like being; a one of a kind Titan known as Kronika. It seems that she protects the hourglass, but for what purpose? She senses the fate of Shinnok, her son. The hourglass seems to light up as Kronika is controlling it, enraged by what has happened.

"Dear Shinnok. My one and only son. Your fate at the hands of Raiden will not be in vain. It is time to initiate my grandmaster plan. Your sister Cetrion will aid in our quest to bring you back in the New Era." Kronika said as she works with the hourglass, channeling her rage with her time powers.

Her daughter Cetrion also sensed her brother's fate but does not show it to the other Elder Gods. She remains silent as her mother does her work. Cetrion understands what needs to be done in order for her plan to work, knowing she has to wait for 3 years for her mother to regain her full energy from her rage and time powers combined.

Kronika closes her eyes to concentrate and remembers what Raiden has done to her son. She opens her eyes and yells out loud and the hourglass opens a portal, linking to another timeline, a world without Mortal Kombat.

On a different Earth in a different timeline, which is much like the primary one except where there is no such thing as Mortal Kombat. No other worlds, sorcerers, ancient powers, or anything else has existed. In the state of Georgia, an American man in his early 20s has settled on his own, ready to move with his life. What he does not know is his life is about to change forever.

"Thank you for your time, Mr. Alex Torres. We hope we see you on your first day at our IT position in the military next week." The boss said.

"Thank you for this opportunity, sir. Ready to start a new life here." Alex said.

As Alex walks to his car, he opens his car and starts driving. As he continues to drive home to his apartment complex, happy about his new job, he starts to notice something strange going on. He sees sand coming around everywhere on the road in the small town. He parks his car and gets out to investigate.

"What the hell is going on here?" Alex was confused. "Is anyone else seeing this? Hello? Hello!"

He looked around, but all of a sudden, no one was there anymore. Then he couldn't believe his eyes as he saw an entire house turning into sand and collapses. He runs back to his car, only for it to turn into sand and collapse as well. Alex sees the small piles of sand and some wind coming towards his direction, the sand hitting his feet. He turns around and sees what's happening.

"What the fuck is that?!" Alex swears as he's starting to panic as he sees a portal sucking in the sand. He attempts to run away, but the portal starts getting stronger. He grabs a light post pole to try to hang on, but it becomes sand and he loses his grip.

"AHHH!" Alex screams as he is sucked into the portal as it closes. Immediately afterwards, the entire city becomes sand and is pushed away and soon, the Earth, his earth is slowly no more, unknown to him.

In Earthrealm, it is February 2015. At the Special Forces Base, the heroes of Earthrealm have returned to celebrate their victory over Shinnok. Johnny, former movie star and current member and General Sonya, Johnny's ex-wife have drinks together, having thoughts about rekindling their relationship. Cassie Cage and Kung Jin have a conversation with each other.

"I'm really glad the green shadow thing didn't skip a generation, otherwise, I would've been humanoid bug food." Johnny said as he brings up almost being devoured by D'Vorah.

"The last thing I would've wanted was to sleep with a man who smells like Goro shitting on him." Sonya said while trying to hide her laughter at her ex-husband's expense.

"Hey!" Johnny yelled as Sonya started laughing.

Grandmaster Hanzo has a talk with Takeda Takahashi about his newfound relationship with Jacqui Briggs, daughter of Jackson Briggs. Jax was rather reluctant about it, but he came to understand his daughter and approves of it.

"Shirai Ryu bonds are sacred. One must prove worthy to marry a chujin." Hanzo stated to Jacqui.

"Well that's how it works in the Briggs family." Jacqui replied, causing Takeda to chuckle quietly.

Hanzo turns to Takeda about his choice in women. "You have chosen wisely, my student". Hanzo gave Takeda a compliment.

Outside, Kuai Liang, who isn't much of a party person, sits outside to meditate. He thinks about the future of the Lin Kuei after the battle against Kotal Khan, and wishes to continue to rebuild, knowing that their deaths were not in vain. He sits in silence, until he senses something.

Inside, as Cassie was having her friendly conversation with Kung Jin, she detects something massive coming from their computers. "Uh oh. General- I mean, Mom! You really want to see this!" Cassie called her mother through the communicator.

"Cassie! What's wrong?" Sonya asked with concern.

"I'm detecting a massive energy surge. It's messing with our power. Putting it on screen." Cassie opens the big screen to show Sonya.

"What in the hell is that?" Johnny asked, scratching the back of his.

"It's coming outside close to our base! All troops, move out! We may be under attack!" Sonya orders all her soldiers, including Cassie and Jacqui.

The Special Forces move in their vehicles towards the energy source. Kuai Liang and Hanzo Hasashi move out as well to confront this source, whatever it is.

"Don't tell me it's the revenants wanting payback. Or Kotal Khan for that matter". Jacqui wonders with confusion.

"I don't think so. The revenants are still weak from their asses getting kicked. I doubt they would attack immediately afterwards." Cassie corrected her.

"Yeah, knowing these guys, they take their losses well, unless your name is Kung Lao". Johnny joked.

The heroes gather at the portal. Sand started flowing around them and the portal. Everyone has their weapons ready, Kuai Liang activating his powers and Hanzo drawing his sword. They believe it may be a threat related to the Netherrealm but they do not expect just one person coming out of the portal. A man reaches the end of the portal as it closes and the sand disappears. Alex lands in the cold snow head first. His body has a mysterious purple glow which fades away a few seconds later. The heroes point their guns at him as he regains consciousness. He begins to slowly stand up while gesturing his head as if it hurts. He sees military vehicles, a man who has ice flowing in his hands and a ninja with a sword. Alex is nearly blinded by bright headlights as Sonya speaks up.

"You there! You are completely surrounded! Put your hands in the air and don't move!" Sonya speaks through the PA speaker.

Alex silently obeys and slowly raises his shivering hands. He looks at Kuai Liang and Hanzo stare menacingly. Jacqui points her arm weapons at him as she is a little confused but still glaring at him. Cassie is just as confused as she is as to why a human being just come out of a portal. She stares at him, though not with the same glare as Jacqui and Sonya. Cassie sees confusion and fears in his eyes. She slowly starts lowering her weapon as he starts to speak.

"Please. This is a mistake. I don't know how I got here. I got sucked through some sort of sand portal or something. I'm not here to hurt anyone." Alex said as he continued shaking and taking steady breaths, feeling scared.

"Don't move a muscle. Get on your knees and hands behind your head." Sonya ordered

"General, wait." Cassie tells her. "He may be telling the truth. He doesn't look like he's a spy or anything. We should probably listen."

"He could be a spy or follower for Shinnok or the Black Dragon for all we know." Sonya replies.

"Shinnok? Black Dragon? What the hell are you talking about?" Alex overheard as he slowly walked over to the Cage family. "Look, I don't know what's going on, but you're making a mistake. I was driving home to my apartment from an interview to join the military. Then suddenly, everything turned into sand and—." Before he could finish however, Johnny shoots him with a taser gun and he falls to the ground. His body is twitching, unconscious but alive.

"Dad! What the hell? You could've killed him!" Cassie turns to him in dismay.

"Sorry, it was an accident. He was talking crazy and freaking me out!" Johnny defends himself.

While Sonya would normally facepalm at some of Johnny's words or actions, it didn't faze her this time due to the situation they are in. "Cuff him and let's bring him back to base for interrogation." Sonya ordered.

Alex is handcuffed by Jacqui and put in the same vehicle as her and Cassie. Jacqui is driving them back while Cassie looks back at their prisoner with a pitiful face. Alex remains sleeping as he begins to have a mysterious dream involving five torches and one of them lights up.

As Alex remains asleep after being knocked out, he suddenly wakes up and appears in some sort of keep. He sees five torches, and one of them is already lit up. Behind them is a huge hourglass. He starts to step closer but stops halfway once he hears a voice speaking to him.

"You have a purpose here. Soon, you must make a choice. It is your fate." The mysterious voice said.

Alex looks around to see who is talking to him, but does not see her. He only hears her voice. "Who the hell are you? What is this?" Alex is confused.

"Your answers will come in time. For now, I must rest. We will meet again." The mysterious voice said before a bright light appears, blinding him.

Alex opens his eyes and finds himself inside a room which looks like it is used for interrogation. Four soldiers stand guard with weapons in their hands motionlessly. He finds his hands shaking but not as much. He notices his right arm has ace bandages wrapped around with a little bit of blood. Alex assumed they must've taken some of his blood. He tries to get up, but finds himself stuck to a chair.

His left wrist is tied to the arm of the chair and can't even budge it. His right wrist is handcuffed with a long chain while stuck to the chair, but can move it. His ankles tied up to the chair legs and two small pads attached to both sides of his head. He took steady breaths as he hoped it wasn't a torture device. Cassie and Johnny come in to see him waking up. Alex tries not to freak out as he leans backwards, feeling scared of what they might do.

"Whoa, easy there, dude. Don't freak out. Here." Cassie said, handing him a hot drink. "Sorry about that. The general can take things really seriously. We always try to tell her to ease up on this shit."

"Umm, thanks?" Alex thanks her as he has a drink of the hot chocolate using his right hand.

"How you feeling, kid?" Johnny asked, feeling a little sorry for tasing him.

"A little fuzzy from being tased and not getting hypothermia." Alex told him as Cassie looked at her father, feeling a little irritated.

"It was an accident! He was scaring me like hell. What was I supposed to do?" Johnny said, trying to apologize.

Cassie rolls her eyes and shakes her head before turning back to their prisoner. "I'm Cassie Cage. What's your name?" she asked.

"Alex. Alex Torres. Where am I? Why am I here?" he asked, not trying to freak out. He sees Sub-Zero and Hanzo coming in with Jacqui, Takeda and Sonya. Sonya and Jacqui sternly look at him, as if treating him like he's a bad guy.

"You are in a Special Forces Base. Our military operations. You're here because you're our prisoner since you flew out of that portal." Sonya said. "On your left is a lie detector hooked up to you. I'm gonna ask you some questions and if you lie, you'll get a buzz. Relax. You won't get electrocuted for now."

"If I were you, I'd just nod and roll with it. Last thing you would want is a kick to the nuts. Literally. She used to do that to me all the time." Johnny said, giving Alex advice.

Alex looked at him in confusion as what he meant by that. He is assuming they may have been married or something. He takes a brief look at Kuai Liang and Hanzo, wanting to ask why are there ninjas here? Alex then looks at Cassie, who then looks at her mother with concern.

"You sure this is necessary? I mean he looks young and handsome in a way. But there's no way he's one of them. He doesn't look like he knows the first thing about magic or gods." Cassie said. She believes Alex is innocent given the look in his eyes telling he feels scared. Cassie sees something in him.

"Only one way to find out, Cassie. He could still be dangerous for all we know." Sonya told her daughter before turning to Alex. "My name is General Sonya Blade. You will address me as General or ma'am at all times. Speak when spoken to and don't lash out. Are we clear, kid?"

"Yes, ma'am." Alex obliges and nods his head slowly. His right leg is shaking a little, feeling really intimidated by the general.

Cassie looks on in concern. Johnny, while feeling distrustful of the new guy, though not as much as Sonya, is just about as concerned as his daughter is. Sonya sits in the chair across from him at the small table, glaring at him with great distrust.

"What is your name, kid? How old are you? Where were you born?" Sonya asked.

Alex took deep breaths as he felt his heart beating, nervous about being buzzed or jumpscared.

He knows that the room is guarded by soldiers with guns. He was smart enough to know that fighting would be no good, nor can lying buy his way out. So Alex knows he has no choice but to obey. "My name is Alex Torres. I'm 22 years old. I was born in Georgia." Alex said nicely in a more calm manner. Thankfully, the lie detector does not go off.

"Where do you work? Have you had any run in with anyone in the black market deal, Black Dragon included and met Kano? Do you do drugs or have committed any crimes, including murder, felony, drug abuse, any kind of assault?" Sonya asked.

That last one made his stomach flinch. Alex remembers going through something traumatic a few years ago before college. He cannot stand the words rape or abuse whatsoever.

"I was supposed to start work in an IT position on a military base after getting my degree until I got sucked in that sand portal thing. I have never run into anyone in the black market. I don't know who this Kano dude is. I currently have no criminal record." Alex said. Once again, the lie detector does not go off. He tries not to hyperventilate.

"You're doing pretty good so far, but we still have more questions. I'm not trying to scare you. Luckily, Cassie told me to play nice for a change." Sonya said. "Do you drink alcohol? Have you ever been fired from a job before? What was this military place you applied for? Was it Special Forces? Your marital status? Have you run into any criminals before in your entire life?" Sonya asked, not letting up on him.

"I'm not a drinker or smoker. I have never been fired from a job, I only quit. I was gonna join the Georgia Peach military. I never heard of this Special Forces. I'm single. I only ran into a couple of criminals once." Alex said. He felt reluctant to answer that last one, and he tries his best to stay calm and polite as that answer brings the general to her next question.

"Did they do anything to harm you?" Sonya asked.

He remembered that day. He had nightmares about it for a few months, and suffered from PTSD.

"They stole my phone. I tried to steal it back and tried to run, but they caught me and robbed me again. Thankfully I did not have my wallet or house key as my parents were already home. I didn't want to fight at first, but they made me and I nearly paid for it with my life. I was in a hospital afterwards and I ended up with nightmares for months. It was before I started college." Alex said shakingly, remembering the horrors he had.

Sub-Zero and Hanzo looked at each other in disbelief at first. But given the tone in his voice and look in his eye, they start to believe him. Cassie took pity on him as well as Jacqui did, though not as much as the former. Jacqui would not let up though, since she distrusts him but not as much as Sonya does. Takeda whispers something to his master asking what they should do, only for him to respond to wait.

Sub-Zero stepped up and asks him a personal question. "Are you an associate with someone named Frost or Sektor?" Alex responds with a no, confused on who they were. Hanzo was the next to ask.

"How about Quan Chi?" Hanzo asked. Alex shows a confused look at the weird name.

Sonya starts to get frustrated, making sure the lie detector was on before slamming her fists onto the table, making the prisoner jump. "I feel like something is going on here that you're not telling us! You came here as soon as we defeated Shinnok! Are you a spy for him or following the revenants?!"

"I have no idea what you're talking about! I don't know who these people are! They sound like weird names! I don't even know where that portal came from!" Alex said as he tries not to panic. He tugs on his restraints but they couldn't even budge.

"General, wait. Scaring him isn't gonna get us anywhere. Let me try asking him some questions." Cassie said. Sonya was reluctant to let go, but conceded to her daughter's wishes. Alex sighed at the relief. "Where were you when this portal you came out of was in your state, Alex?" Cassie asked.

"I was in a small town where I grew up my whole life. I was on my way home from my interview to join the Georgia Peach Military and I started seeing small piles of sand everywhere as I entered my neighborhood where my apartment complex was. I got out to investigate and all of a sudden some buildings started turning into sand and my car disintegrated. Next thing I know, I saw wind blowing the sand towards my direction, creating this sand portal thing. I tried to run, but it was too strong and I got sucked in." Alex tells his story to Cassie as she listens. It seems she understands him. She seems to be pretty smart for someone a few years older than him. Johnny somewhat understands, but is confused by the fact.

"Georgia Peach Military? That place does not even exist from what I have heard. And you're saying Special Forces doesn't exist from where you came from? I'm confused. Something is really going up and I am not liking it." Johnny expresses his confusion.

"You're right, Johnny. Something does not seem to add up. He must be from another realm. We should try asking him more questions." Sonya said.

Alex looks tired from the questions and how late at night it is. He wonders what they refer to by the Black Dragon, Shinnok and revenants. As everyone starts to look at Alex, wondering who's gonna ask him next, that is when Takeda Takahashi steps up. He looks at his master Hanzo, who nods in approval.

"I believe I can help. Maybe I can reach into his mind and see what he is talking about, without trying to damage his mind." Takeda offers.

Jacqui quickly grabs his hand and stops him. "This could be a trap. Who knows what he could be thinking. Are you sure you want to do this?" Jacqui expresses her concern for his safety.

"There is no other way. We won't get anywhere asking him endless questions. He looks just as confused as we are. I promise you I'll be fine." Takeda said.

"Don't I get a say in all of this? Why are there ninjas in this room?" Alex asked before turning to Takeda.

Jacqui kisses his cheek before he walks over to Alex, knowing what he needs to do.

"Don't be afraid." Takeda said.

"Wait, what are you doing?" Alex leans his head back a little as Takeda removes the pads from his head.

"This will only hurt a bit. Just hold still." Takeda says as he places his fingertips on the sides of Alex's head, causing Alex to gasp and almost rolls his eyes back. Takeda looks inside his head and sees some of his memories. First he sees Alex as an infant hovering down protected by some sort of mystical shield and wears off as he lands near a construction site. Two workers who have been married for 6 months found him lying on the ground. They lied to their fellow coworkers saying that they found it all alone. The married couple decided to take him in as their own son and named him Alex. Takeda then sees memories of him and his parents playing together, Alex being raised, making friends, graduating high school, the traumatizing event he mentioned earlier. And of course, Takeda sees what happened on the day Alex got dragged in the portal. Takeda opens his eyes and returns to reality.

Alex and Takeda both breathe heavily from the memory experience. "What did you just do to me?" Alex asks, catching his breath.

"Takeda? Are you okay? What happened? What did you see?" Jacqui asks. He catches his breath and he turns to her. His expression on his face has given her a sigh of relief, as she realizes he's fine. He then turns to everyone else.

"I saw everything. He's telling the truth. There is no Black Dragon, Special Forces, or anything magical from where he came from. Nothing related to Shao Kahn's invasion or the whole thing with Shinnok." Takeda confirms.

Everyone is shocked by this, especially Alex and Cassie. The latter was shocked at first, but somehow knew deep down, she was right about Alex. Cassie walks over to him out of concern. "Alex? Are you alright? Take your hot chocolate more." Cassie said.

Alex takes his drink more and is ready to ask his question. "I'm okay. Thank you." He said before turning to Takeda. "What was that? Did you look into my head or something?

"Takeda has a form of telepathy powers." Hanzo said, stepping up as well. "He has been trained in the Shirai Ryu for years and was born with such power."

"Huh. I guess you're not crazy after all, kid." Johnny said.

"Where I came from? I don't understand. Are you saying I'm like from a different Earth? This has to be a bad dream. This can't be real. I shouldn't be seeing ninjas and some psychic guy with a sword or a portal for that matter." Alex was even more confused. Could this be true? Given that he was knocked out twice already, it's mostly unlikely that he is actually dreaming.

"A lot of things can be crazy, Alex." Cassie said. "I've seen a lot of crazy shit from the past 20 years of my life. But this is something new. We analyzed your blood samples after my dad knocked you out and they came back as 100% human. But there is one more question we like to ask you. When you first came out of that portal, what was with that purple aura glow around you?"

"I don't know what you mean." Alex said.

Jacqui brings up the footage recorded by her and shows it to him. 'Does this answer your question?" She asked. The video plays. It shows them arriving at the portal before Alex came out. He sees that after he lands in the snow unconscious for a moment, he sees that strange purple aura glowing around him for a moment before fading away.

"I have no idea what that is. That has never happened before. In fact, none of this has happened before. What am I supposed to be looking at?" Alex asks. He is unaware what kind of Earth he is on right now or why he is there. What could come next?

"General. Kung Jin is back with Fujin and Raiden, as you said he would be." A male soldier said.

"Good. We're gonna need answers." Sonya said as she turns to Alex. "Untie him and get him something warm to put on. We're gonna have a talk with Raiden and Fujin."

"Yes, ma'am." Cassie said as she untied Alex's ankles and uncuffed his wrists from the chair and gave him a coat to put on. "I'm sorry about that. She can take things seriously. Just know that we do what we can do to protect our home." Alex nods understanding her. She already seems to like him as he is starting to like her back. He follows them outside as they wait for these three people outside the base.

"Who the hell are all these people we're supposed to meet?" Alex asked. Cassie tells him that he will see in a moment. They meet outside the entrance and meet with Kung Jin, as well as two human-like beings. They are dressed in ancient clothing and they have no pupils in their eyes.

"We got your call, Sonya Blade. Tell us what this is about." Dark Raiden said. Sonya says nothing as she steps aside as she shows them Alex. Upon seeing this unfamiliar face, Raiden's eyes and hands start glowing with red lightning, as if preparing to strike. "Speak your name and purpose! Why have you come to Earthrealm?"

Alex steps back, freaked out by something he has not seen before. A man who controls lightning at his own free will.

"Whoa! What the fuck is the problem?!" Alex yells while eyes widened at the sight of a man controlling lightning.

"Raiden, no! We didn't come to kill anyone. You promised Blade and Cage." Fujin said as he stood in front of their prisoner. Fortunately for Alex, Raiden relents and calms down. He decides to give Alex a chance.

"Speak your mind, Earthrealmer." Dark Raiden said in a very threatening tone.

Alex was afraid to say something. He's hyperventilating out of what just happened. Alex was lost on what to say. That was until Cassie put a hand on his shoulder. "It's okay, Alex. You're among friends." Cassie gives a reassuring smile.

"Forgive my brother-in-arms. He has changed recently. This is Raiden: God of Thunder. And I am Fujin: God of Wind." He said introducing himself. "What is your name, Earthrealmer?" Alex was in disbelief in hearing about actual gods in person. He could ask questions about Earthrealmer but decided to roll with it instead.

"I-I'm Alex. Alex Torres. Nice to meet you." He introduces himself and offers his hand to Fujin. He shakes Alex's hand back.

"What brings you here to Earthrealm?" Dark Raiden asks, looking at him with more distrust than how much Sonya has.

Alex nervously slowly explained everything to the two brothers. How he got to Earthrealm, the purple aura around him and meeting the Special Forces. Thankfully, he had Cassie, Johnny, Hanzo, Sub-Zero and Takeda to back him up. Taekda confirms his story with the help of his telepathy powers.

"I see. So you are from a different Earth because of the winds and sands. Either you are from another dimension, or another timeline. I cannot say either for sure." Fujin said.

"And how long have you two been gods?" Alex asks.

"We have been protecting Earthrealm for thousands of years, under the work of the Elder Gods. Not even they are aware of the situation you are in." Fujin said.

"Elder Gods? You mean like Jesus?" Alex asks.

"Ehh, in a sort of type of way, but yeah you're right." Jacqui replied.

"I do not know how long it will take. But I assure you, Alex, that I will try my best to find the answers to your problem and find a possible way for where you are really from. It may take a year or more." Fujin said.

Alex did not know what to say. He is not used to being around actual gods, seeing people with powers like ice, fire or telepathy. "I-I do not know what to say. I don't even know the first thing on how it happened. I do appreciate the offer. T-thank you. But I have to ask what is all of this. Gods appearing in front of me, ninjas with powers. I do not understand any of this shit." Alex said a little nervously. He starts to appreciate Fujin, but remains skeptical about Raiden, given his attitude adjustment. This is what also concerns his other allies as well. Why he is like this is beyond them, probably for now.

"The answers you seek will come soon enough. I know you are confused, but soon your new allies will explain everything to you when the time is right. Until then, it is best that you remain with the Special Forces, Alex. You are in good hands." Fujin said.

"I got my eyes on you, Alexander. You may be an Earthrealmer, but do not think about betraying your new friends." Dark Raiden said to Alex as he said nothing, not wanting to anger the God of Thunder even further. The two brothers take their leave.

"I must return to the Lin Kuei Temple to reassemble my clan." Sub-Zero says his goodbyes to the Cage Family.

"Take care of yourself, Grandmaster Blueberry Ice." Johnny says his goodbyes. While Sub-Zero was annoyed with the name, he learned to simply ignore it, knowing Johnny means well.

"And I must return to the Shirai Ryu to ensure it's safety. Takeda shall stay and accompany you further with our supposed new ally." Hanzo said.

"Send for me when you want me to return, Master Hasashi." Takeda bows his head before him.

"You have my word, Takeda." Hanzo said as he put his hand on the student's shoulder. "Promise to watch over Alexander. He may prove useful to us." Takeda nods as Hanzo and Liang take their respective leaves.

"Do you trust the Special Forces with him?" Sub-Zero asked.

"If Takeda and Cassandra believe in this boy, then it is only fair that we give him a chance. No denying that my chujin's telepathy is powerful." Hanzo said

"I hope that you are right. I do not know what she sees in him. Perhaps his spirit." Sub-Zero said.

"All we can do is wait and see. For now, we should trust the Special Forces with him. I know he is in good hands." Hanzo said.

Alex turns to the Special Forces. "So am I still your prisoner?" He asks, hoping it would be no.

"For now, no. As long as you do not pull any tricks or stunts on us then we won't throw you into the brig. Since you applied for your military, you will have a position with us in the Special Forces starting tomorrow until we hear from Fujin. Are we clear, kid?" The General said.

"Yes, ma'am." Alex said with bravery and confidence, yet a little nervously, remembering his instructions.

"Good. Sergeant Cassie. Why don't you show him where he will be staying?" Sonya asks.

"Yes, ma'am." Cassie said before turning to Alex. "Come on, new friend. Let's go." She says as Alex follows closely behind.

"So what do y'all think of him? Johnny asks Sonya, Takeda, Jacqui and Jax.

"I don't trust him. Sure, Takeda saw his memories but who knows what he'll do. Remember what happened last time?" Sonya said. She initially distrusts Alex, given that last time Cassie and her team teamed up with D'Vorah and Kotal Kahn, the latter imprisoned them and D'Vorah turned out to be a spy for Quan Chi.

"I have some doubts about him, but Cassie quickly trusts him. It may take time for me to completely trust him." Jacqui expresses her thoughts.

"Well we gotta give him a chance. Kotal or Shinnok wouldn't just send some random human to attack us. Someone who doesn't know the first thing about all of this. I say we go easy on him for a while." Johnny said.

"Seeing his memories was a different experience. He doesn't seem to be like a bad person. I would trust him, he seems nice." Takeda said.

"I'm kinda mixed to be honest. The guy doesn't seem like much, but at least he doesn't look like a Black Dragon spy. I'd say we let him hang around." Jax said.

Sonya still doubts Alex's abilities, but she knows Johnny has a point. If her daughter trusts him, then it will take sometime for her and Jacqui to trust him as well. Meanwhile, Cassie shows Alex his new room he will be staying for who knows how long.

"Here ya go, Alex. Your new room. Not much, but still damn cool. Am I right?" Cassie said.

"Better than sleeping in a coffin in a desert or cold summer where I could freeze my freaking balls off." Alex joked, making her smile.

"Suppose you're right. Tomorrow, we will show you around, what we do, our activities and such. If you applied for the military back home, I'm pretty sure you'll love it here." Cassie said. "It was nice to meet you, by the way. Sorry for the bad start." She offers her hand and he shakes it.

"Thank you, Cassie." Alex said, smiling back.

"You're welcome, Alex. I promise when the time comes, we will explain everything to you. We get up at 0700 hours. General's orders." Cassie tells him.

"Yes, sergeant." Alex salutes.

Cassie laughs a little. "Good night, private"

"Good night." Alex said as she leaves and closes the door.

Alex is left alone in his room. He wonders how long he will be staying until Fujin finds a way. Unknown to them at the time, there is no way for him to go back, and that was never his real home at all. All he can do is wait and see what happens. For now, he turns in for the night, hoping to go off on a fresh start.

Note: That was the first chapter. Part of the story will focus on the aftermath of MKX before jumping into MK11. Cassie Cage was the first character I picked up in 11 since it was the first game I own and played. I grew to like her so much that she became my favorite character. Kronika is a timekeeper and titan. Not only is she the main villain for MK11, but for the entire series, being responsible for the timelines. Alex, being an OC character for this whole fanfic story, will have a very important role. And if you guys don't wanna see cliffnotes in the future, please feel free to leave comments. And don't be afraid to express your opinions and thoughts on each chapter.
