A/N: So... This is my first FF and the first time witting. I started this two years ago, so I'm trying to keep at it by publishing. Haven't gotten very far, but we'll see how this goes.
CHAPTER 1 "Disclosure"
''Freak'' Petunia Evans spat at her sister Lily.
It was Lily Evans first day off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They were on platform 9 and 3/4 where a scarlet steam train awaited for the students to broad. Lily tried to enjoy the scene of robes and wands, cats and owls, but the look on her sister's face made her world crumble. Hate was all Lily could see in her sister's eyes. She wished Tuney would be happy for her and enjoy this so they could talk their hearts out about all these crazy people.
"I'm sorry Tuney," Lily said as she approached her sister. Petunia looked the other way. "Please!" she begged in a low voice and Petunia continued to ignore her.
"Are you ready Lilykins?" Mr. Evans said with a smile, oblivious to the situation.
"Not really," she said with a nervous smile, "I don't know anything about this world."
"Hun, you'll do great! You're an Evans. There's nothing an Evans can't do." He said proudly, "You'll be the best witch out there. And always remember, I'm here for my little girl," he said and kissed her on the forehead.
"Lily, I think it's time for you to get on the train," Mrs. Evans said anxiously in a soft voice. It was almost 11 o'clock. "Study hard and behave, Lily, and you'll do just fine," she said and gave Lily a hug "I love you."
"Me too. Bye, mum. Bye, dad." She went to give Petunia a hug to, "Love you, Tuney." Petunia hugged her back but did not say a word.
She loaded her trunk and went looking for a compartment. Finding an empty one she pushed the sliding door and sat next to the window. After a few seconds of excitement, she started to feel lonely and thought about Tuney. She had been her best friend until all this magic stuff started. She loved being a witch, it made her feel complete. But not having Petunia on her side was devastating. She didn't want one or the other, she needed both.
Someone knocked on the compartment door interrupting Lily's thoughts. A handsome black-haired boy with sad eyes pushed the sliding door as she had and asked to share the compartment. Lily said yes as she was alone, but kept to herself, not in the mood to chat. As the boy sat in front of Lily, another boy entered the already opened compartment door. He also had black hair but his expression was completely different from the first boy, he was ecstatic. The new boy had messy hair and hazel eyes hidden behind dark-rimmed glasses.
"Hey there!" he said "Mind sharing?"
"No problem. Come in." said the first dark-haired boy.
"I'm James, James Potter," he said proudly while he used a hand to mess up his hair.
"I'm Sirius" the other boy answered. They both looked at Lily waiting for her to say something. But Lily froze. For some reason, she suddenly felt nervous. She took a deep breath.
"I'm… I'm Lily" she stuttered.
"First year?" the boy called James asked, clearly confident.
"Yeah" Sirius answered.
"Can't wait to have flying lessons," James said "My dad taught me a bit of flying but I need to be the best if I want to join the Quidditch team," his eyes sparkled. "I'm going to be the best chaser in Hogwarts history," he said raising his fist in the air.
"I wouldn't mind being a beater so I could bludger my enemies," Sirius said laughing.
Lily had no clue what on earth these boys were talking about. Sev never mentioned anything about "Quidditch". Lily was comfortable being ignored so she continued with her lonely pity party. The boys kept on with their conversation so intently they didn't notice when another boy entered the compartment and sat next to Lily.
"I don't want to talk to you," she said in a constricted voice. It was Severus Snape.
"Why not?"
"Tuney hates me. Because we saw that letter from Dumbledore."
"So what?" she threw him a look of deep dislike.
"So? She's my sister!"
"But she's only a…" he coughed himself quickly; Lily busy wiping her eyes did not hear him "But we're going!" he said "This is it! We're off to Hogwarts," she nodded with half a smile. "You better be in Slytherin."
"Slytherin?" the boy James asked "Who would want to be in Slytherin? I think I'd leave, wouldn't you?"
Sirius didn't smile "I'm a Black, my family has always been in Slytherin."
"Blimey," said James "and I thought you seemed all right."
Sirius grinned. "Maybe I'll break tradition. Where would you head if you had a choice?" Sirius said with hope.
"Gryffindor, where dwell the brave at heart. Like my dad." He said proudly.
Snape made a small depreciating sound. James turned on him.
"Got a problem with that?"
"No," Snape said with a sneer "If you rather be brawny than brainy."
"Where you hoping to go, seeing as you're neither?" interjected Sirius. James roared with laughter. Lily sat up, rather flushed and looked from James to Sirius in dislike.
"Come on Severus, let's find another compartment."
"Oooooo…" James and Sirius imitated her lofty voice. James tried to trip Snape as he passed.
"See ya Snevellus" Sirius called as the compartment door slammed.
"You're kind of cool, for a Black, I mean," James said grinning.
"So, you think I have a little hope?" Sirius said relaxing on the train's cushioned seat.
"Stick with me and you might just make it," he winked.
The train was already on its way making steady chugging sounds. Lily and Severus walked through the train's hall, but none of the other compartments were empty. They finally found a less crowded one where there were only two older boys and a young one who kept to himself.
"Are you in Slytherin?" Severus asked excitedly as he noticed the green details on their robes.
"Yes, we are," the bigger one said proudly. He was a tall blond with big lips, a wide nose, and beady eyes. "I'm Bolan Mulciber and this is Carlen Avery" the other boy was smaller and looked a little smarter.
"I'm Severus Snape," he said, "We're hoping to get sorted into Slytherin, aren't we Lily?"
"Sure," Lily said, a little hesitant. She actually had no idea what she wanted. She knew Sev was head set on Slytherin, he had talked about it quite a lot. But Lily actually didn't mind the other houses, Sev made them seem awful.
"Good blood," affirmed Mulciber "Slytherin is the house of the greatest wizards of our history."
Lily, a bit uninterested in the conversation, noticed the younger boy in the compartment as he shifted uncomfortably. She looked at him for the first time, he was small and pale and had a very sad expression.
"Hello, I'm Lily Evans," she said with a kind smile.
The boy, surprised to be noticed, answered "I'm Remus Lupin."
"You don't like Slytherin?" Lily asked in a low voice.
"Well, it wouldn't be my first choice," he said "But honestly, I wouldn't mind Ravenclaw."
"I like Ravenclaw too, but I'm not sure I'm wizard erudite material," she said "My parents aren't wizards so I literally don't know anything."
"Don't worry about that. Us from wizarding families don't know as much as you would think."
"Lily, come here," Severus had noticed she was distracted by someone else. Remus looked at him and frowned, he was surprised when Lily went after him.
"What is it Sev?" Lily asked innocently.
"Just stay here with me."
"Why?"
"That kid doesn't give me a good feeling," Lily rolled her eyes, "I really hope we both get into Slytherin."
"I don't know Sev, the other houses don't sound that bad."
"But we have to be together. Like we've always talked about," he said intensely.
"Whatever happens, we'll figure it out," she smiled. "I just can't wait to learn my fist spell," she added to change the subject.
At that precise moment, the lights went off and everyone and everything went silent. Even the train's engine and rail wheels couldn't be heard. Lily's heart started beating faster and felt a cold chill down her back, the silence was unnatural. Something was wrong.
A few seconds went by and everything turned a tint of green and a shrill voice spoke. Lily was startled, it could be heard from every direction.
"I am whom you fear.
I am whom you can't name.
I am Lord Voldemort.
Join me in the battle for purity and freedom for wizards and witches.
Don't be fools and resist the inevitable "
Silence.
No one made a sound, slowly the lights and noises came back up again. When the shock finally left Lily's body and was able to move. She looked up at Snape.
"Sev? What was that?" she asked in a panicky voice. The lights and noises were back to normal.
"It's the future Lily," he said with a smile.
"The future?" Remus interrupted "Are you mental? That man is a monster. He's a murderer. He's a living example of all that is bad!"
"You're just afraid of power," Avery interrupted.
"No, that is not power. That is just evil." he couldn't believe what he was hearing, "Lily you seem like a nice girl, I would be careful with them if I were you," he said looking at Severus. He slid the door open and left the compartment.
A few compartments further away James, Sirius, and a blond boy called Peter Pettigrew were staring at each other in surprise.
"I guess it's nice to finally have a name for that bastard," James broke the silence "My dad will have a field day today. He's in the Aurors department. That was incredible magic. I wonder how far it reached."
"I know him as the Dark Lord. My parents are fans" Sirius said, a little annoyed.
"That sucks. But now that you're in Hogwarts you can choose, you can do whatever you want," James said proudly and with a mischievous smile. "Count on me for help," he winked.
"Me too," Peter said with eagerness.
"Thanks," Sirius felt a little bit better.
A knock sounded on the compartment door. Remus Lupin entered, "You mind?" he asked.
"Answer this question: What house would you not be in?" Sirius asked.
"Slytherin of course," he said laughing.
"Right answer! Come on in," James welcomed him with his arms spread wide.
A/N: Well, there it is. Hope you enjoy it (There's better stuff coming).
Lots of love
