Two signals reached my brain.
The sensation of wet feet and the smell of saltwater. My eyelids were heavy, and a burning sensation held them shut. I brought up an arm to rub my face.
With blurry vision, I looked around. Blue, the colour, engulfed me. Still confused, I looked down, seeing water reaching my knees.
My ears popped open as if someone had burst a bubble around my head, and a siren nearly gave me a heart attack.

"WHOOOW Critical hull damage. Please ascend. WHOOOW Critical hull damage. Please ascend. WHOOO-"

I glanced at the HUD. Reading that the hull was damaged at 10%, slowly ticking upwards.
"oh… that ain't good..." I mumbled, still dazed.
That, however, cleared when I caught sight of the altitude metre. Everything made sense now, blue, the water, the hull damage.

"Shit!"
Grabbing the joysticks and squeezing the triggers, my body sank back into the seat as I accelerated upwards.
"Alice!" I shouted over the roar of the thrusters. "If I survive this, will you finally call me by my name?"

"Alice will consider it. The chance of survival is 10%."

I smiled, "I was never lucky at cards, hope the Messiah pays me back!"
